  • "A lovely apartment, well equipped, clean, comfortable, everything I needed for a comfortable stay, I took the advice of another reviewer and kept the blinds closed when I went out in the mornings and the studio was lovely and cool when I returned."

Very airy with the three windows. View fabulous. My only reservation is that this part of town is very noisy at night, the description was transparent about this and I am used to the regular hum of traffic, but this was loud music and shouting from two late bars nearby, one open till 2 am, the other till 4 am. They both have outdoor seating so the noise is not contained, and people leaving are not the most constrained. Very loud, backfiring motorbikes were also, curiously, a regular feature. On the plus side, I was awake for some stunning sunrises over the sea that could be enjoyed without leaving my bed.

  • "Great accommodation."

The only problem is the Nook Cocktail bar a few doors down. Music blaring till 01.00 hours and youth very loud after closing when they hang around on the street just in front of the apartment. The apartment could do with an air conditioning unit.

Wall by bathroom light switch disgustingly dirty One loo roll Kettle thick with lime scale Rug filthy Need to be more transparent about the noise at night. Teens still out at 4am and motorcyclist up and down the road all night Please leave the blinds down during the day if it’s going to be sunny. Took us ages to cool the room down. Timer on bathroom light doesn’t last long enough Locks difficult to work. Door needs to be in a specific position to make top lock catch. Some of these comments have been made repeatedly by other people in reviews. Such a shame as it’s a lovely little apartment

Thank you for your feedback which we have passed on to the housekeeping and maintenance team for attention. Property Owner

  • "The apartment is absolutely gorgeous."

I expected noise from the surrounding businesses but it was the road noise that caused sleepness nights. Cannot be helped but was very loud at times. Lovely to have a little tea tray when I arrived but very surprised to find no toilet roll in the bathroom! I think salt & pepper and some very basic items would help. Also, I am 5ft 2" and found it impossible to reach the cupboard above the microwave to get a bowl for myself. My final 'bad' comment is that there was quite a lot of dust on surfaces when I arrived. Having said all this, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at 6 The Beaches and would have no problem going back. The furnishings make the apartment very comfortable, no noise from the other apartments and it is an amazing view.

The Beaches is set in a perfect location over looking Weymouth beach and the sea. Perfect location as a base for exploring the surrounding areas including the jurassic coast. Our stay was to relax and enjoy walks along the coast The harbour is well worth visiting as there are plenty of places to eat and drink. We had a lovely walk to Boleeze cove and enjoyed a bite to eat at The Oasis cafe. We would highly recommend staying at The Beaches which is clean, comfortable and very well situated. We shall be staying there again in the future.

We had the most enjoyable stay over Christmas, such a success after so many of our plans had been changed following members of our family catching Covid. Warm, clean, well equipped and with the most outstanding view. Hours spent just looking at the fabulous vista. I am certain we will return in the coming year.

I must admit the noise at night from the street at weekends was a bit of a challenge but this is only to be expected in an urban area. More importantly, the flat is conveniently placed for shops, bus stops and the railway station. The views from the property were fabulous!

  • "Holiday was good overall but there were a few areas for improvement."

The listing said that the road was quiet now due to the closure of a nightclub. This was not the case and was noisy till gone midnight most nights - this should be made clear in the listing. Parking was very difficult. We weren’t advised of the closure of the Pavilion car park (the main car park in the town) prior to our arrival which made parking very difficult. Cleanliness could have been improved, the floor/rug was not clean and we had to hoover ourselves. Glasses/Mugs weren’t that clean either, we had to wash before using them. We didn’t mind this but would’ve expected a better level of cleanliness to begin with. Basic supplies could have been better - broken knives, only 1 baking tray, would have expected at least some foil/food bags but there wasn’t any! The lock on the door was very temperamental and had to be in exactly the right place to lock - very fiddly! Overall, we probably wouldn’t stay again due to location and parking.

The flat was lovely, clean, well equipped and presented, and modern, With no car, the location to town, the station and of course all what weymouth has to offer has to be one of the best. The open plan nature means you can go to sleep looking at the lights of the prom and wake up to the sight of the terrific beach. Fully recommended.

Facilities and equipment in flat very good. The only issue you may want to put a handle in the bathroom when getting out of bath/shower nothing to hold into. Also the noise from 2 am til 3.30 am is not good young adults on skateboards up and down the promenade and shouting and singing kept us awake. Possible to leave ear plugs for each person in apartment to use. I would stay again.

Perfect location overlooking the beach and walking distance to all amenities. We had a lovely peaceful holiday until Thursday evening when a herd of elephants moved in to the flat above, I don't know if they had dogs or children but what ever they had just ran around all the time and we could hear every step. Luckily we were going home on the Saturday morning or this would have really spoilt our holiday.

From the initial booking to the day we arrived, the communication with Sykes and it’s staff was exemplary. The instructions received regarding access on arrival was very clear as was all the other accompanying information. The accommodation we booked was absolutely amazing in every respect; without doubt it was the best equipped accommodation we have ever rented. As always the comfort of a bed is a very individual thing, saw some previous critical comments regarding that, but we found it incredibly comfortable. Because we visited when pubs and bars had restricted opening times we never encountered any issues with noise from premises below the apartment that we saw others comment on previously. If all Sykes property’s are of the calibre of this booking - we will definitely confidently book with you again.

  • "We enjoyed our stay tremendously, but there were problems."

Parking to unload our luggage was a nightmare and on both Friday and Saturday nights we had very little sleep due to people at a nightclub two doors down were outside on the street yelling and swearing until 5 or 6 am! The local council should be informed. Some of the instructions were not as clear as they could be. The directions for key collection stated that the key was in a box to the left of the mailboxes and there were THREE key boxes. They should have been numbered according to the flats. The appliances were baffling. Why use touch screen hob and washer instead of dials? We had difficulty getting the hob to work. We could not alter the thermostat despite following the instructions to the letter.Other than that, we loved the flat and enjoyed our visit very much. We do plan on returning to 6 The Beaches again, despite infuriating appliances. The flat was very well appointed with lovely views over the beach.

Thank you for your recent valuable feedback and that you found the apartment well-appointed and enjoyed the lovely views of the beach. We are sorry you found the apartment to be noisy, we do try and be as transparent as we can be in our description informing guests it is on the lively seafront with late night opening bars. As far as the owner is aware the council has been informed of the noise issue and understand the music license will be reviewed when it comes up for renewal. The key safe was given a letter against each apartment, them but we will check these to make sure they are clearly marked. Again many thanks for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you back to Dream Cottages again soon. Property Owner

  • "We were so pleased with the accommodation, it was really beautifully decorated very well equipped and spotlessly clean."

The views from the large windows were amazing and you could see them wherever you were in the main area of the flat, it was perfect. The flat was in a great location so close to the beach, the harbour, bars, restaraunts and the shops, they were all within easy walking distance. Tha only downside to us was the noise at night, we expected some noise as we knew where the flat was and the write up on the flat does disclose that, however it really was excessive!! There is a nightclub next door that is open until the early hours of morning, you can hear the constant base from the music at all times, from when it starts until the club closes, We could just about live with that, but the noise from the customers outside all night long is unbelievable! It really is on another level! Loud shouting, swearing screaming and calling after one another, arguing, running around over the road to the beach, on the beach, in the little promenade shelter opposite, both when the club is open and after it closed, there were some very large groups of youngsters , even with the windows closed it was impossible to sleep through it. this goes on until at least 4am, yesterday morning the last ones went off at 5.30. It really is such a shame, I would have loved to stay there again, but the sleep deprivation totally spoiled our four night break there for us. We were pleased we hadn't decided to include the weekend as others have reported it to be worse then, I can't imagine it any worse!

The location is fantastic, great for watching the world to by and within walking distance of all local amenities. The only downside is, although in the listing it states about the noise of bars etc.as it is on the seafront, I have to point out that 2 of our four night stay we had no sleep as the club next door was open and the base of the music could be heard in the apartment and the clubbers continued their night, outside the club, one night until gone 6am and the other until gone 4 am, laughing, chatting shouting and arguing and it felt like they were in the apartment with us, even with the Windows closed, which needed to be open as it was very warm. I would suggest for you to take not just earplugs but also ear defenders!!!

  • "Proximity to the beach and shops."

You need to take ear plugs as its noisy especially fri/sat nights at the Aura club until 4.30am. We did need the windows open at night though as it was hot. I think having a fan would have helped. Could have done with more storeage space for food suplies. Wasnt necessary to have over 10 mugs & so many casserole dishes, but apart from that i would definitely stay again.

  • "The flat was exceptional, clean, comfortable with views of the sea, the only downside was that there is a nightclub a couple of doors along and although you cannot hear the noise from this, the youngsters sit outside talking on a friday and Saturday night right through the night, but every other night is quiet and you get a good nights sleep, so ear plugs on a Friday and Saturday night would make it perfect, there are also about 40 stairs to climb to reach the flat, but, it is a brilliant flat."

The apartment itself is in an ideal location for the beach and shops and has all you need in the kitchen, the small dishwasher was a bonus, the only thing missing is baking trays which would have helped. The flights of stairs to the apartment kept us fit, but won't suit everyone.
