  • "The property is in an ideal location near the town centre, harbour and main beach."

It was very clean, spacious, with good beds and probably the best equipped place we have ever stayed in (eg over 120 drinking glasses of all shapes and sizes) although no oven gloves or non stick frying pan. There was a decent garden with basic garden furniture and lots of flowers (that we watered from the hose as it was so hot). However, a) there is only one car parking space. We were only told at the last minute that the length of the space is 7 metres 70 cms. The length of the smallest UK Mini is 3.87 metres and even if the second car could go into the space sideways, crablike, which is physically impossible, the 7.7 metres is too small for 2 tiny minis. They expect you to get the length of two cars into the same space as the width of 2 garages, We had hoped for a bit of leeway on the length but with neighbouring cars parked right up to the edge of the space there was no leeway. We had to pay £63 to park the second car 10 minutes walk away which was quite a chunk of our holiday spending money. There is free parking in the streets around, if you can find it, but only for an hour at a time. b) there is no access to the house from the parking space so all your stuff has to be carried quite a long way round the block to the front of the house. In the end we gave up and parked the car illegally on the pavement on the busy, double-yellow-lined road, to offload before driving round the back to park. c) you can’t see the car from the house when it is parked which is a security risk, so had to walk round every day to check it was OK. d) we arrived too early in Weymouth so stocked up for the week with frozen food as the blurb said there was a freezer but the only place for frozen stuff was a tiny icebox in the top of the fridge and our frozen food was left slowly defrosting in the fridge, meaning there was no room eg to cool drinks in that very hot May half term week. Even the handbook at the property says there is a freezer near the washing machine, but there was no freezer. e) one bedroom had a loo and basin in the room but for the other four bedrooms the nearest loo was 3 flights of stairs away, which is not clear from the blurb - difficult if you need the loo in the middle of the night. f) the bedroom on the 3rd floor had no space to hang clothes and the nearest shower was 2 floors down. g) not their fault but the shop underneath the flat was being renovated and the banging and drilling was pretty constant during the day and very loud, even on the Bank Holiday.

  • "The house was lovely and clean I loved the size of it and how each room was unique it was very homely and comfortable."

We were a party of 8 and there was plenty of space for us. It’s not far to walk to the town centre either or the beach.

  • "Myself and my friends stayed for four nights over the New Year."

We had the best time! The house is stocked with everything you could possibly want! The property was clean and tidy and was great for our group! The house was big and spacious. The owners were so helpful and kind when we had difficulty getting in and were very kind in allowing us to check in earlier and leave a little later. If we all stay in Weymouth again as a group, we would definitely come back here! Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

  • "This was our second stay at the Victorian Town House, and everyone was very happy to be back!"

We were three generations plus a well-behaved dog, and with the beach an easy 12-minute walk away, the house is perfect for us. And once again, nobody wanted to leave!

  • "We had a lovely stay in Weymouth, good location, we walked from the house for everything in town and for beach days."

The house is lovey and clean with everything you need for a stay, lovely 60s and 70s decor, we enjoyed looking at all the details. Our extended family group had plenty of space.

  • "Stayed recently and had a great time, the house is very big with all amenities, so lots of room to move about and have time out if needed."

Yes the toilet/ bathroom/ shower room are on a different floor to the bedrooms but this did not hinder us even though we were a party of 7. All bedrooms are very spacey including the 2 x single rooms, and plenty of room. I spoke with the owner and she is very helpful and happy to assist in anyway. Regarding the parking, yes it is tight and we had 2 x large cars but I went and spoke with the neighbour and explained that one of them was over the parking line but was not in anyway obstructing, he was happy and let us park same way each day. Could not fault anything really as it would be smalll things that did not really matter or outside of the control of the owner, plus anything that was needed I just spoke with the owner and was sorted extremely quickly.

  • "The property was as described and generally in good condition."

The biggest drawback was the lack of toilet facilities on the floor with 4 bedrooms. The toilet facilities were a floor below accessed by 2 fairly steep flights of stairs. Parking behind the property is very tight and for some could become an issue, although for us we didn't move the cars so not a problem. Overall hard to fault but the above issues should be considered for certain age groups especially those with any mobility issues.

  • "There was a funny smell in the kitchen once we used the oven we realized that's where it was coming from."

Cooker could do with updating as we found it awkward to cook when it was numbers and not temperature and no leaflet on how to work it. We had to leave the kitchen windows open as it was rather overwhelming. Also the iron when used tripped the electric in the whole House so that may need replacing. Overall a lovely stay and we've already booked for next year!

  • "My daughter, my two grandchildren and I had a wonderful week at the Victorian Town House."

Everything was there that we needed, the kitchen was very well appointed (could do with a wooden spoon though so as not to scratch the pots and pans), the lounge was great for relaxing with plenty of channels available on the TV, and the beds were very comfortable. The whole house was perfect for hide-and-seek! Two convenience stores on the doorstep couldn't have been handier, and the beach was an easy 12-minute walk away with a dog-friendly section by the Pavilion. Nobody wanted to leave.

  • "This is a lovely well maintained home in a 10 minute walkable distance to Weymouth shops and promenade."

Although we were only there for the weekend , it is clear that everything you need is to hand at the property itself, and a few shops , a pub, and takeaways very close to hand in the area immediately outside. I'm sure if we had stayed the week we would have made more use of the garden, BBQ and conservatory area. Parking at the back of the property is a bit tight for 2 large(ish) cars but with free and guaranteed parking these days a bit of a novelty, its a nice bonus.

  • "This is a lovely self contained cottage right in the middle of Weymouth with easy access to nearby attractions and walking in the East Coast walking path."

Cottage is clean, tastefully decorated and well kitted out (even a small Gym). It is ideal location for groups doing the Jurassic coast walk.
