"The cottage and surrounding gardens, and woodland walks were beautiful."

There were plenty of birds and other wildlife visitors to the garden. The owners kindly provided a bird book and binoculars to help identify the birds. The welcome pack was one of the very best we have ever received. They had thought of everything, bread, milk, scones, jam, eggs, orange juice, and even asked if you had a white/red wine preference. They also provided dog beds, toys, bowls and treats.

Hi Andrea, we are soo glad to hear that you enjoyed the stay and thank you for the lovely comments . Looking forward to welcoming you again! Property Owner

"An absolute gem of a retreat for two people with the immpeccable cottage set in a stunning woodland setting with short walks straight from the cottage and down to the river."

The welcome from the owner was lovely and we enjoyed the excellent communication. The welcome hamper was beautifully prepared and personalised for us which was a great touch. The closeness to walking in the Southern Uplands and Drumlanrig Castle & Gardens made it a great holiday where we didn't drive a lot. There is so much to do in this area (and we walked a lot in stunning scenery) if you can drag yourself away from watching the variety of birds and wildlife around the cottage! The art installations of Striding Arches by Andy Goldsworthy and Crawick Multiverse by Charles Jencks are within a short drive and we enjoyed exploring those on our break. A perfect escape.

Thanks Davy and Bernadette for the lovely review - it was great to have you both as our guests and we are looking forward to welcoming you again Property Owner
