Lovely property very well equipped with most things you will need Brilliant garden very secure for the dogs who loved to run and play in there for hours Beds I had a problem with the king size bed in as much as it was so comfortable that i struggled to get out of it each morning Beach literally a one minute drive away ot a four minute walk (not a sandy beach but lots of stone and boulders) but nothing to detract from the property or the quality of the stay Shower was the most powerful one we have come across in a long time very refreshing Overall a very enjoyable two week break

Arriving at The Oystercatcher we immediately loved the atmosphere of the house, it was just lovely and welcoming, everything we needed was available, didn’t want for anything, facilities provided were spot on, cannot wait to come back and we would definitely recommend staying here.

His was our second time staying at Oystercatcher, and it was just as clean, comfortable accommadation , well maintained as before.

We throughly enjoyed our stay here.

The cottage perfect,clean and in a lovely peaceful place. The garden is very secure which was great for our frenchie. Mull of Galloway Lighthouse is only a 10min drive away a must visit. The local beach is perfect peaceful walk for you and your pet if you have one. We would like to thank Rachel David and laura you have done yourselves proud. The welcome treats of milk tea coffee biscuits and a bottle of iron bru was very appreciated. One last thing we would love to come bk here in the very near future

Oystercatcher is such a comfortable,well equipped, well furnished house in a quiet cul de sac within easy reach of the village amenities and a great base to explore this great area of Scotland.

People are very friendly and the local pub is very good. We're so impressed with the cottage and the area,we've already booked to come back later in the year.

We enjoyed the quiet place and the interesting places to visit. Would recommend the local pub for food and friendly service; enjoyed the Shanty Singers... an unexpected bonus. Good local craft places to visit on the way to the Mull of Galloway; but cafe closed on Thurs and Friday

What a wonderful holiday home, it feels like a home.

Very clean, (holiday homes aren’t always) very well thought out and we’d definitely recommend. Very easy to book through sykescottages.co.uk and a good price. Wonderful area, so peaceful and lots to do and explore. If you need to recharge, this is the perfect place. Great neighbours who were very helpful & informative in places to go. Thankful to the owners in doing such a great job with their home. Thank you.

Lovely modern clean holiday let.

Overall very well kitted out but could do with a few kitchen items teapot, trivet for hot pans to avoid damage to work surfaces - a tablespoon - small knife for veg (there is a potato peeler) - carving fork and carving tray. These are my own personal choices having owned a holiday let in the past. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the accommodation but found Drummore a very windy place in February. Would be great in the summer months I would think. The property when we entered was extremely cold and would have been better if the under floor heating had been left on low. However there are additional oil fired portable heaters to boost the heat and soon got the heating up to the required temperature.

A lovely, comfortable cottage in a perfect location for touring the local area.

Everything we needed was available. The local pub The Ship Inn is only a 2 min walk and the staff made us feel very welcome. We only stayed 3 days over the New Year period will definitely return to this property and recommend it.

We had a fantastic stay, property is walking distance to everything, beautiful part of the country and the property makes your stay extra special.

Property is of high standard and we are already planning our return in 2026. It was also great that our furry friends could join us on this trip, it makes trips like this extra special when the whole family can experience this. Kind regards John

A beautifully presented, spotless bungalow in a quiet (we like that by the way) part of the world.

There were several really thoughtful touches when we arrived which made us feel very welcome. The information book was clear and informative with a lot of genuinely useful local knowledge which provided some excellent guidance. My wife, dog and I all had a really enjoyable and comfortable week in this superb property. Thank you very much.

Lovely stay at Oystercatcher, so quiet and peaceful.

We found the pillows a little hard for our liking but each to their own. Cottage was very well equipped and clean and we really enjoyed our stay.

This property was so beautifully presented and impressive, exactly as advertised.

It was clean and tidy and had everything I could have needed. The little welcome pack, milk and fizzy pop in the fridge was a nice touch. The location was very peaceful with hardly any passing traffic and I didn’t realise how close the beach actually was, just a couple of minutes walk around the corner. The enclosed garden was one of the main reasons I booked this property.

We had a lovely stay at Oystercatcher, everything was as expected.

Drummore is only a small village with a shop, pub and cafe, we had a couple of visits to the pub which was very nice, the food served there were very nice. You are best to book to get a table, staff are very friendly. Nice local store for everyday groceries otherwise you have to visit Stranraer for other things. Sandhead has a nice beach for children and Port Patrick is very nice to visit. Our grandson loved catching an abundance of crabs at the harbour, we were there everyday. Would highly recommend this property.

This is the best cottage we have stayed in, couldn’t fault it in any way.

The village was lovely also, what a beautiful part of the world.

A beautiful, clean, well equipped bungalow, everything you could possibly need was provided.

Easy to find directions. If wanting a restful quiet retreat this is the place. The well fenced garden was ideal for our dog, the one downside was ( I found ), was that the gate into the garden was on the wrong side of the back door, therefore unable to let my dog potter in and out. However it didn't spoil the experience of this lovely home from home bungalow. A BIG thank you to the owners and of course the cleaner.

We had a fabulous week at Oyster Cottage which is in a lovely location.

The cottage is very modern and decorated to a high spec with everything you need. A good drive for parking the car and lovely enclosed garden. We had sunshine all week which was a bonus as we visited all the sites in the area. Glenwhan and Logan Botanical Gardens were our favourites. The Mull of Galloway only a fifteen minute drive away is beautiful but unfortunately when climbing to the top of the lighthouse it was too sunny to see the landscape views. The Ship Inn in Drummore serves delicious food and has a friendly atmosphere we visited a few times during our visit. We would definitely recommend the Oyster Catcher.

Had a lovely week at Oyster catcher.

Was in a nice area , handy to have a village store, and a short walk down to the beach past the harbour. The house was so comfortable and homely, very clean and had everything we needed. The area around has plenty to do, great beaches and the Forest of Galloway wasn't too far away. We loved our week here and would definitely come back.

A very comfortable solid bungalow, convenient for all Drummore has to offer.

The property is clean, light, bright and airy and everything is in good order. We enjoyed walking the coastline and spending time with our dog on the beach, it’s a very peaceful place and the locals are lovely and friendly. There’s building work going on on the plot facing the Oystercatcher but it doesn’t interrupt your stay

The bungalow is lovely.

The king size bed is very very hard, quite uncomfortable. The pillows were truly awful, like they were filled with concrete. Makes for a very uncomfortable nights sleep. Otherwise the bungalow is very well furnished, although spare batteries for the tv remote would be good!

Your holiday home is beautiful, immaculately clean and well maintained The underfloor heating does not appear to work however the oil heaters heated the house well.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, house was spacious and well equipped.

Our puppy Loki got his first taste of the beach and had a whale of a time. A nice quiet and peaceful area of Scotland.

Lovely bungalow, heating needed to be supplemented with the radiators at night.

Everything you needed was there, kitchen utensils great. Loads of storage/ coat hangers. Yes there is a house being built just opposite but no noise was heard, out through the day enjoying my holiday. Lovely bungalow would come back. Key safe number given just day before like to be more organised! Personal preference, did not like day before leaving being reminded to clean and strip beds, to keep cleaners safe! Left day early due to storm. Once again well kept, supplied bungalow

We had a lovely break it was very quiet just what we needed, away from the hustle and bustle of our normal routines.

It was just a shame about the building work that was still going on from March 2023. The boiler was noisy, we switched it off on the last night. The main bedroom did seem to have a draft coming from the windows.

the grass needed cutting,it was far too long,we had trouble finding our dogs poo,we did our best but it should have been cut before we arrived.

We rang the numbers we were given and reported this.They said that the gardener was ill,but the grass hadn,t been cut in weeks. We had the same problem with the two previous properties that we booked with you,but they did come and cut the grass.

Beautifully appointed, very clean & comfortable little house.

The owners have provided for every need, including a wide selection of board games if you fancy a night in. Drummore is a great location if you value peace and quiet, and long beach or cliff top walks. There is a very friendly and cosy pub within 200m (The Ship) which serves hearty food every night and lunchtime, and a handy local shop in the village too. We will definitely return.

Our third stay at Oyster Catcher and I’m sure it won’t be our last, we just love the bungalow and everything in it, great location for exploring and every one in the little village are so friendly not to forget the Ship Inn where you will be made to feel so welcome.

Lovely clean cottage .

In a quiet area . Easy access to shop and pub . Nicely furnished . Be nicer if it had a few plants or shrubs in the back garden .

The cottage was a lovely property in a quiet cul-de-sac overlooking the harbour & bay beyond.

It was extremely clean & very cosy. There was plenty of crockery, pots & pans & in fact everything we needed. Spare bin liners were provided as well as dishwasher tablets, dish soap & soap to get us started. There were biscuits, sugar, coffee & milk so we did not have to shop until the next day. We had a lovely stay in this comfortable property & went out every day in spite of the weather being a bit iffy the first couple of days. But that’s the British weather for you!

A lovely bungalow in a very quiet village.

Clean throughout apart from shower cubicle. Beds in both rooms very comfortable. Good wardrobe space. Very well equipped kitchen but could do with a new tin opener. Spent time in the garden as had good weather but rotary clothes dryer broken and dangerous. Needs removing. Lovely walks and views from the village. Everyone we met very friendly. Made very welcome at the Mariners cafe and The ship inn with lovely food.

An excellent stay, a perfect base to visit surrounding areas.

The house was lovely and clean and well looked after. Constructive feedback is the rotary line needs replacing and I think the bathroom would benefit some shelving. Also an outside tap would be useful for washing sandy paws and feet

This was our second trip to Oystercatcher, the property was ideal for us.

A quiet location and very convenient to our relatives who live in Drummore. Everything was spotless and very clean and very well maintained. The property was very comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing short break.

A lovely cottage in a lovely part of the world.

Drummore is a lovely friendly little village and the local pub is dog friendly. And also does takeaway food. Oystercatcher was very clean and comfortable, there was no trace that dogs have stayed there previously so it is obviously cleaned to a high standard. When we arrived, the cottage was warm and cosy, an additional heater has been provided to assist the underfloor heating but we mostly switched this off as it was not needed. There was very windy weather during our stay and there was not a single draft coming through anywhere. The rooms are very spacious, the bed is very comfortable and a nice big fridge freezer in the kitchen was more than enough for our food and drinks for the week. The cottage looks exactly like the photos. We had an issue with the hot water during our stay and we contacted the owner for some tips and they were very helpful. Maybe we just expected a bit too much of the boiler so my advice to future guests would be to always boost the hot water (instructions are in the handbook) regardless if you think you are going to need it or not. We have been staying in cottages for the last 20 years, before it became fashionable and our friends and colleagues often ask for recommendations. We only recommend the really good ones and Oystercatcher will definitely be going on the recommendation list. They even provided a fleece blanket to cover the furniture so that our dog could enjoy the cottage too. We took our own but it was a lovely gesture. Things that I think the cottage needs to make it even better: A teapot. An outside tap, essential for dog friendly cottages when the dog has been on the beach. Some coat hooks behind the door in the hallway. We've had a very relaxing stay and would definitely return.

We had a lovely stay at Oystercatcher, everything we could need and plenty of room for 2 adults, 2 children and a dog.

The house was very clean, comfortable and in a lovely quiet location. A beautiful beach just around the corner and a dog and child friendly pub 2 minutes down the road. We hope to revisit in the future.

Beautiful cottage well maintained and clean but oh dear heating was terrible.

Very cold especially kitchen and bathroom. But heating unit buzzed all night. We decided not to stay the week and went home on Wednesday. Such a shame but it wasn’t cosy. We will book with you again as we are looking for Amble in September near the beach and pubs. Our little dog thoroughly enjoyed looking out the window. Sylvia Robertson

We had a lovely week at Oystercstcher.

The bungalow is lovely modern and all facilities you need. Our only comment is that a 5pm access to accommodation is late in the day especially for a winter break. The house was cold when we arrived and took couple hours to warm up. The Ship is great place to eat. Thank you.

The property was spotlessly clean and everything we needed was provided.

It has been fitted out to a very high standard. However we were disappointed with the shower cubicle---it was much too small and made having a shower quite uncomfortable. Also the basket provided in the shower for storing shower gel etc. was hopeless given where it was hanging(over the shower fitting)---it was quite difficult to fit stuff in. This would not stop us from staying at the property again.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Oyster Catcher.

It’s in a very quiet location and very close to the beach. The weather was very wet, so we were glad to have a cosy cottage to come back to. Thank you for letting us stay in it. People in the area are very friendly. We enjoyed an evening at the Ship Inn and joined in with the Shanty Singers. Great fun

I don't know why this cottage isn't classed as 5 stars because I don't know what could really be improved.

Everything is elite here, possibly access to back garden could be more secure but it was never really an issue. The facilities are brilliant, very fast WiFi and top rate kitchen. A rare place that not only allows dogs but provides a throw so my dog could be on the sofa as well. I've never come across that before. The Ship Inn nearby and the store just minutes walk away cater to everything I need. The house is very secure as on the odd days it was very windy you couldn't hear it much inside. A wonderful home

Wow, Oystercatcher exceeded our expectations.

It was home from from. Modern, clean, spacious and comfortable with good quality WiFi.

A wonderful cottage with tasteful decor and impressive equipment, large rooms and very dog friendly.

My only niggle was the mattress in the master was too firm but overall we had a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend Oystercatcher

The holiday property was clean and well equipped and everything worked as it was as described in the ad.

I would like to have seen a shelf or similar in the shower cubical to store things but I realise it is a tight fit.

We were very comfortable, our only minor problem was that by the end of showers in the morning we were running out of hot water

All appliances were very modern and the house was spotless. The house was in the centre of Drummore and close to the pub and the shop and was very close to stunning views. Drummore was a great place to relax for a week.

The house was immaculate.

We go self catering holidays always ,because of having a dog . This was the best cottage we have stayed at . The quality of furnitureand fitting was superb.

Heating/Water system was hard to understand, not enough hot water for 2 people to have a bath/shower after wach other & took a long time to reheat water.

An easy to use help card would be useful, as the new Heat pump system was hard to understand.

This is the nicest property I have stayed in for a long time.

The area is superb and the people so friendly. My dog is quite susceptible to any change in his routine but he absolutely loves the place and so it was a really relaxing time for all of us.

It has all the facilities you could need and the owners welcome book was really helpful and shows how friendly they are. We really enjoyed our stay and only regret that it was a very short stay. A great base to relax and unwind after exploring the surrounding areas.

The only little niggle we had was the bath towels we only had 2 bath sheets for four adults so we was sharing with our partners. Nether the less it didn’t stop us having a lovely time so quiet which we all enjoyed. Just perfect. Definitely would recommend and would return.
