Ryehill with Fishing

Beautiful house in gorgeous location just off the main road.

Large comfortable bedrooms and ample (4) toilet & shower facilities, and good communal areas - games room, lounge, dining area, and two outside seating areas. Enjoyable walks around property down to river and into/around nearby town. Stunning views and abundance of wildlife and incredible skys! lovely welcoming touches throughout property with Christmas decorations, welcoming tea tray and doggy treats. Would love to visit again to enjoy property in fishing season for a short break as seems an ideal spot to explore further. like many country properties there were repeated issues with power supply and fuses tripping which I’m sure will be rectified, a bottle and glass recycling bin would be a bonus but local recycling point was easy to locate, clearer instructions on leaving property (to strip beds &/or laundering towels etc) would be good. Minor points but all in all was a positive place to stay.

Great place for a gathering of extended family.

The appliances and equipment all worked well. All ages enjoyed the house. The Games Room was very popular. It was cold weather in December but even those who had come from tropical weather were warm and slept well. Many said how comfortable their beds were. Perfect for us in December, the house would be even better in the summer. The owner was very helpful when we contacted him about an issue of our making, not his.

We had such a lovely time at Ryehill.

The house was beautiful, in fact our family commented how the photos on the site don't do it justice as it was so lovely inside. Sadly we didn't catch any fish but had fun by the hut with the children. Sitting in the front looking at the views we will miss. The town has local shops but there is a Tesco a half hour drive away. I have to mention the Crown pub!. Everyone we met, around about, were so friendly but the staff in the pub were amazingly so (especially with the children which is always a plus for families. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had a very pleasant holiday at Ryehill.

The house was clean and tidy and spacious and all necessities were supplied. Heating and hot water were as required and water pressure was fine so all showers worked etc. The games room was much enjoyed and well used. Outside eating area was great and also plenty garden space for lounging and playing. Views from the house were amazing and the whole area was so quiet and peaceful - the perfect place for a relaxing holiday and getaway from city life. The river was not so accessible from the house so a bit of a let down but this could easily be rectified. Some better couches would have been appreciated in the main lounge. All in all we enjoyed every minute of our stay and would love to return.

The house itself was good however the smell of damp at the front door and downstairs bedroom was unacceptable.

The fishing said easy access. Access was anything but easy. Barbed wire fences and poorly maintained styles were not easy access. As for taking a vehicle down to the river. That was not doable unless you were prepared to have your vehicle damaged and scratched be the undergrowth.

Lovely view over fields down to the river .nice bedrooms all very clean . Beds so comfortable . bathrooms and showers nicely decorated looked new. Our son's went fishing every night and saw Otters, Kingfishers Red Kite . They caught sea Trout and brown trout so exciting. Went walking everyday. Rabbits outside the door. A very nice welcome pack, biscuits , coffee , tea and wine very much appreciated. Loved it

We enjoyed our week at Ryehill despite some fairly inclement weather.

We are not fishers so can't comment on the quality of the fishing. The house is spacious, comfortable and reasonably well equipped. The plates had deep edges which meant they didn't fit well in the dish washer. Also having the microwave above the oven where one might often find a second oven/grill meant warming plates was difficult, but I am being picky here. There were a few minor maintenance issues which I drew to the attention of the owner. On the whole Ryehill is very much what one would hope to find for a gettaway in the countryside and we would be happy to return, if visiting the area again.

The property was amazing very clean Value for money.

Beds very comfortable River Only a stone throw away. Will be booking it for next year.
