We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in Troloss Cottage.

Keith our host was very helpful and informative about the local walks and facilities. The cottage had everything we needed with a comfy bed and the sitting room furniture was relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a generous welcome pack including bread and milk for late arrivals. The large village had a great selection of shops, several cafes and two hotels. We enjoyed the local fish and chips and the owners of Jinny’s tearoom served a great coffee, hot chocolate, snacks and great cake selection. We enjoyed a browse in the newly established gallery and recommended book shop. There was far more than we expected including a local pub selling a selection of craft beer, much to my husband’s delight. The surrounding area had lovely walks and there is a secure garden for those of us with dogs. Even Lily was left treats! A wonderful stay. We would recommend and hope to return next Summer to enjoy more of the Dumfries and Galloway area and what it has to offer.

We had a fabulous few days at Troloss Lodge.

Our two whippets enjoyed the secure grounds and we both were very comfortable in the lodge. Keith is a font of local knowledge and thanks to him we enjoyed some great walks. Would highly recommend Troloss to anyone looking for peace, quiet and good walking.
