  • "The Coachhouse was a small, clean and comfortable property."

    We were two sisters so the accommodation was perfectly adequate for us, as it would have been for a couple with a small child. It may have been a pinch for three adults. Fixtures and fitting were good. The kitchen was adequately supplied with crockery, cutlery and glasses, but NO teapot or cafetière. A starter supply of tea, coffee, milk was welcome. Tesco local next door was great. Although not property related, the lack of a pub/restaurant for evening meals was disappointing. There is a fish and chip/pizza/burger shop and a Chinese carryout. Lochmaben is convenient for touring the area. We would stay again in the future. Remembering to pack a teapot and cafetière!

  • "The property layout as listed In sykes website differed from what we actually had particularly in the kitchen."

    There was very limited worktop area and storage cupboard. The owners were helpful and very approachable in trying to create more storage but only manageged a little more worktop area. The fact that the dining table was upstairs did not help in preparing and laying out any food with the kitchen being on the ground floor level. However the hosts were extremely kind and helpful.

  • "Facilities very poor especially the kitchen."

    There are no worktops and cupboards apart from one small cupboard containing a few pots,dishes,chipped mugs and some cutlery all poor quality. So for a self catering property it was difficult to actually use kitchen. The photos of the kitchen are completely different to what it actually is. So not as advertised. The cleanliness of property was very poor. Kitchen floor extremely dirty, there were cobwebs everywhere in every room and window. Would not recommend.

  • "Most comfortable."

    Lovely garden to look out at with partial views of Loch. Well equipped, a tastefully designed Tesco next door. Ideal for a base in a quiet location.

The Old Coach House is a holiday annex resting in Lochmaben, within the Scottish Lowlands, offering thoughtfully arranged accommodation suited to couples or small families looking to explore this historic area.

Stepping inside, guests will find a well‑planned layout that makes the most of the space, with the living accommodation set on the first floor.

Here, the living/dining room provides a welcoming place to relax after days out, with space to dine together and unwind in the evenings.

The kitchen is located on the lower level and is equipped with the essentials required for preparing meals throughout your stay.

Also on this level are two bedrooms, comprising a double and a single, offering straightforward sleeping arrangements, along with a shower room featuring a walk‑in shower, basin and WC, completing the internal layout.

There are 2 co-ops, (one with a Post Office) Catering wise the town has a fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, cafe/Bakery, two pubs and a famous Ice Cream parlour.

Lochmaben Golf Club is 200yds away with the 18 hole course wrapping around the Kirk loch.

(Hot meals are also available here.) There are numerous countryside walks, including the well known Annandale walk from Moffat to Annan, taking in Lochmaben on its 55 mile circuit.

There is also a pharmacy,doctor, and a hairdresser if needed during your stay.

Edinburgh is one hour away on the train from Lockerbie.
