Great cottage.

Very comfortable and fully equipped. Very dog friendly with enclosed back garden (and garden room). Magnificent shower too ! We really enjoyed our stay there, and it was a perfect base for exploring and visiting various attractions in the area (Culzean castle, Dumfries house, Galloway forest park, etc).. The beach at Maidens is great too for walking the dog

This is a great place for a family & dog friendly holiday.

This was our 4th stay and, as always, we found the house comfortable and spacious. Rhona had got in touch in advance to offer a cot for our baby,which was great and saved us needing to bring one. We love our trips to Maidens and it seems that this is becoming our go to accommodation! Thank you for another lovely stay and we'll hopefully be back soon

Our 3rd stay at Honesty Cottage and we really enjoyed ourselves again.

The weather was really decent compared to the forecast and we only had a few isolated showers during the week. The cottage has a lovely outdoor area which we utilised and had a couple of meals outdoors in the afternoon sunshine. The property is lovely and spacious with a goodxsized conservatory used for dining. The lounge offers comfortable seating. The main bedroom has a superking sized bed and is so comfortable and the other bedroom was fine for our son and his fiancee. The kitchen has everything you need (except an air fryer) and there was a bottle of milk in the fridge for us and some lovely chocolate and hazelnut brownies expertly made by Rhona, the lovely owner. There is also a bath and shower in the bathroom.The cottage is only a few minutes walk from the beautiful beach and harbour plus handy for the number 60 bus if you fancy a few beers in Girvan or Ayr. It is an hourly service until around 7pm. Ropes Bistro near the harbour has a nice outdoor area offering stunning views of Maidens plus the Firth of Clyde. Honesty Cottage is definitely a great place to stay if you like decent accomodation at a reasonable price.

We had a brilliant week at Honesty Cottage.

We were so lucky with the weather....wall-to-wall sunshine. The cottage is very cosy, well equipped, so comfortable and larger than it looks, and it's literally just round the corner from the beach. The totally enclosed garden was a great size for our Greyhound...plenty of room for zoomies!! Maidens has a fabulous beach...as do Girvan, Ayr, Prestwick and Troon. Troon is well worth a visit..the beach is huge. There's only one shop in Maidens..Little K's...but what a great little shop it is. As well as newspapers and groceries there's a takeaway which does hot drinks, hot and cold sarnies, fish and chips....you name it it's there!!! The only downside to our visit was the daily visit of ants in the kitchen....but hey they don't eat much!!! We would certainly recommend Honesty Cottage and it won't be our last visit.

Honesty Cottage is well situated and we enjoyed visits to the surrounding towns.

It was nice to return to a warm house after a day out. A visit to the Robert Burns Museum in Alloway was very interesting. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was a real feature. A minor problem with the plug in the hand basin in the bathroom was resolved within 1 hour by Michael.

Honesty Cottage is a clean and cosy cottage that has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

It has a nice enclosed garden which was also handy for our dog. We have stayed there twice. Minutes to the beach for lovely walks. The owners are friendly and easy to contact should you need them.

It's good to walk the dog to the vil!age shop for the newspaper. They have a very varied stock. Made 3visits to Culzean castle and estate. Wildings restaurant first class. The shore line walk with views of Ailsa Craig was done many times.

Third stay for us in this lovely cottage.

It has everything you could need for a great stay. Location is ideal, garden is secure & well kept and the house is so comfy, we always sleep so well here! The neighbours & local community are also wonderful and we always feel very welcome. Maidens has become our happy place and we'll definitely be back. Thanks for another great stay

The Cottage was truly lovely.

Everything it said it would be but was just so big. Loved our stay there apart from one thing. No nearby pubs lol

This is the second time I have been to the cottage, it is very comfortable and well appointed.

The cottage is just one street back from the shore...nice walk along the front to the harbour or into the Culzean estate. I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it.

A lovely, spacious bungalow with a superb shower!

A large "dog secure "garden and just a very short stroll to the beach with fantastic views across to Arran and Ailsa Craig. A brilliant location and the amazing Culzean castle and park close by.

In need of a full refurbishment but we knew that when booking.

The cottage was immaculately clean and the super king bed was very comfortable allowing us to have a great night's sleep. If you have a dog they will love the beach miles of sandy coast for play even a bed for them with a towel to dry them in the enclosed porch.

This was our second holiday at Honesty Cottage and again a really perfect cottage clean comfortable and everything you need.

Extremely spacious cottage in a quiet location near the sea.

Well equipped, very comfortable, good local food shop and a pleasant walk to Turnberry Lighthouse or Culzean Castle.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Honesty Cottage.

It has everything needed for a relaxing holiday. Spotlessly clean and well furnished. The conservatory diner was wonderful for breakfast after a great nights sleep in the super comfy bed. The welcome homemade brownies were delicious. I certainly can recommend this cottage.

We had great time here brought our dog and he loved it the garden was nice and secure.

The hosts Rhona and Michael were very nice and helpful and lovely people. We will be booking again soon. Beach is as described 1 street away or 2mins Dog friendly and very long for good walks especially when tide is out. Once again to Rhona and Michael thank you for a lovely stay.

Second stay at this lovely, cosy cottage and we had a great time.

The house is in a quiet location, close to the beautiful beach and it's spacious and comfortable. It has everything you need for a holiday and is perfect as a base when out and about, as well as for chilling out as a family. Thanks for a fantastic stay, we will hopefully be back soon

The property is situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac one street back from the beach.

The cottage is a lot more spacious than it appears on the web site. the inside is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. There's also a good sized garden at the rear of the house with a couple of conservatories - one for dining and the other with TV. The kitchen has a large cupboard with plenty of items carpet sweeper, irons and ironing board, cleaning materials, hot water bottles etc. Maidens is a lovely village, I spent a bit of time walking along beach, into and around Culzean estate, also visited Girvan and Ayr, all in all I really enjoyed my stay there and have booked it again for a week in June.....I can honestly recommend the cottge for a great holiday.

The location is wonderful; Ideal for the beach.

Maidens is a lovely place to relax and recharge your batteries. The cottage is very comfortable and I love the size of the living spaces and bedrooms. The bathroom is fantastic as is the enclosed garden. If anything lets it down (slightly), it's the kitchen. The grill pan is too small for the top oven and therefore cannot be lifted high enough for the grill and there is no dishwasher. However, on saying that, we did cope and we enjoyed our holiday immensely, so much so that we've booked again for next year.

Lovely home from home accommodation with very caring and attentative owners.

A lovely spacious well equipped bungalow in quiet position a few minutes from sea.

The weather was not suitable for sitting in the garden during our visit but it was another quiet place we could have enjoyed on a summer evening

The property was very clean and generally well equipped.

The bathroom is in need of a much larger wash basin which could be fitted without major problems. The present one makes wet shaving awkward. The provision of a tumble dryer especially for families in wet weather is a necessity. Health advice:- The hot water is dangerously HOT and its temperature needs reducing. A safety high vis strip should be fitted to the raised runner between the dining room and the kitchen. I tripped on it a few times.

The second time at Honesty Cottage and once again there were no disappointments.

The cottage is both clean and comfortable and has everything need for a relaxing stay. The seafront and beach is a few minutes walk away. Honesty Cottage is a perfect base from which to explore this beautiful region of Scotland. I hope we return again soon.

A warm, very comfortable, quiet, dog friendly cottage with everything provided for a home from home break away from it all.

In an idyllic setting for walks on the beach, meeting friendly locals in the bistro for drinks with a stunning view. We had the most relaxing break & would love to return.

Great property, lots of space and exceptionally clean.

Location perfect, our dog loved the beach. Welcome pack could have been better, pack of shortbread and small carton of milk. However, this didn’t detract from the peaceful break we had. Would definitely come back again.

Very good facilities. Very comfortable. Great garden for relaxing in although the weather wasn't quite as good this time around. Our dog loved pottering around the garden and checking for any escape routes - there weren't any! Location is great and very close to the beach with great walking.

Backyard is totally brilliant if you're travelling with your dog as totally secure and plenty of space for running about.

Beach is right around the corner and great for walks. The house itself was great, everything we needed and very comfortable. Nice and quiet neighbourhood and still within reach of anything you need. Would definitely book again.

No heated towel rail and no washer/dryer/ tumble dryer so had wet towels etc.

Would certainly benefit for clothes as not often can hang out but takes all day to dry and very wet climate on West Coast! Also a dishwasher too space in kitchen usually standard for that price and no on suite too. Cottage was clean and comfortable and in good position but for family need to have a dishwasher/dryer and a heated towel rail working also radiator in hall did not work, lamp in lounge and clock not working too. The hall ceiling lampshade we found on carpet. If these were rectified would certainly return

Lovely property with plenty space to relax.

The living room seating is comfy; with the dining room extension and garden room giving you plenty options inside. Good realiable WiFi throughout which was was ideal for me as I had to do a little bit of work. Lovely garden and a brilliant location on a quiet street just around the corner from the beach. My parents, little dog and I had a brilliant time and would love to stay again!

This is a really good value holiday cottage which is warm and has everything anyone could need for their holiday.

I'm sure it's only going to get better and better over the next few years - it's nice to be able to relax in somewhere that feels like home. The community are welcoming too.

Honesty cottage is a lovely base from which to explore the beautiful south west coast of Scotland.

At first sight, it looked a little sparse but only because there’s so much space and it was actually very comfortable, especially the beds. I loved the walk-in shower and my Border Collie appreciated the neat and tidy enclosed garden. Each morning we had a walk along the sea front which was literally a couple of minutes away. It was all so quiet and peaceful. The only minor setback occurred when the central heating ran out of fuel, but this was rectified by the very welcoming cottage owners, who live just around the corner, so quickly it wasn’t even an inconvenience. We’d happily stay there again.

Owners couldn't be more helpful. Thank you also that they went the extra mile and dropped off my husband's spectacles! It's a very convenient location ideal to explore Culzean castle NTS or further afield. Friendly village too with excellent everyday facilities!

2nd visit to Honesty Cottage and hopefully not the last.

The tranquillity of Maidens is a lovely contrast to where we live near Manchester \ Bolton. 5 mins from the beach and able to walk freely with our dog Brodie.

We've enjoyed our fortnight here and booked again in October through Sykes.

Have mentioned to owner anything that needed attention. The cottage represents excellent value and judging by the areas already upgraded - it will get better and better in time. The location really works well too.

This is the best holiday let we have had everything was first class welcome pack provided and anything you could possibly need was available.

The area is very quiet but has lovely beach and harbour The hotel and bistro were both good and staff friendly there is also small shop with post office .We are looking for a date to rebook and will recommend to friends and family

Superb garden for our dog and it was safe and enclosed. Would definitely stay again .

The property was not as advertised.

Sleeping quarters were acceptable. Continuous issues with shower controls and several other matters.

Comfortable well equipped bungalow.

Close to beach, lovely surrounding countryside. We had storm Dudley to deal with but it in now way spoiled our break.

Holiday cottage is situated in a lovely quiet culdesac, with a lovely large garden for my dog to roam in, cottage was well decorated and lovely and clean, all kitchen equipment was fine, only thing that would have made it perfect would have been a dish washer (afraid I am spoilt at home and so used to it ) Owner had decorated it for us with the xmas tree etc so made it feel like xmas, we are hoping to return in Sept when the weather will be more clement, right next to the beach and the harbour so lovely long walks for my husband with the dog, Owner extremely helpful.

This bungalow is excellent, very comfortable and spotless, and the owner who lives nearby, is very helpful and friendly.

As the holiday was a special treat for my husbands birthday we did eat out a lot and the local hotel and the bistro are both lovely, Overall it was an exceptional break and we will be back!!

Lovely cottage one minute from the beach.

Well equipped clean and comfortable. Found the keysafe a bit of a pain, and there was a dripping noise which sounded to be coming from above the large bedroom, annoying at night. Overall, a very light and pleasant place to stay.

Very clean and spacious and situated at the bottom of a cul-de-sac meant it was lovely and quiet. 5 mins walk from the beach which meant we were able to enjoy relaxing walks with our dog Brodie. Will definitely return if the opportunity arises in the future.

HAD A LOVELY STAY AT HONESTY COTTAGE.

WILL DEFINATELY BE GOING BACK. THE OWNER WAS SO NICE AND VERY HELPFUL.

This cottage is fantastic, beautifully decorated, well equipped, and spacious.

We have been going on Sykes holidays for seven years now and this property has been one of the best. We went with our two sons aged 4 and 8 and they enjoyed all of the space as well as the garden which was a lovely, enclosed haven. We sat outside to eat all of our meals as it was that peaceful. The boys also enjoyed playing games in the space as there was enough space to run around. The beach is also just down the road and wasn't busy on the hot days that we went which was great especially during these uneasy times. There was plenty for us to do in the area which was another added bonus especially if you are having to entertain children. Particular highlights were Culzean Castle which was a short walk from the cottage and Heads of Ayr Farm Park a 20-minute drive, both were so large and full of lots for the family to do that it filled up both days. The owners of the cottage were lovely and extremely accommodating (we had no complaints at all as it was so clean and well-stocked) the welcome pack of homemade Brownees and milk was much appreciated. We would highly recommend this cottage for a wee seaside getaway.

Having looked forward to our holiday, we were disappointed to receive a telephone call from the owner of the property confirming the number of dogs we had.

We were already halfway into our journey at this point. The number of dogs had been arranged before a booking made and deposit paid. So, to be suddenly told by the owner she didn’t really want the number of dogs we had as the previous guests had “left such a mess” left us feeling deflated. A number of issues to be addressed. There is no coat stand/hook in the porch to leave damp jackets on a wet day. One armchair had a very dirty headrest. All seating in the main lounge was soft and uncomfortable. There was NO track and trace QR code. Legal requirement? Bathroom clean but could have done with a washable mat as shower tray slippery. No handrails in bathroom/shower area (I have a disability) A ramp leading to rear sun room/conservatory would assist wheel chair users. Wooden floor in rear sun room/conservatory is uneven, loose in places. During the end of the week, the bedroom curtain rail fell off the wall. We would not recommend to family or friends.
