Wagtail Cottage is a charming single-storey cottage located in the lovely seaside village of Southerness, boasting fabulous views over the beach.
Offering high-quality accommodation for 4, Wagtail Cottage has views out over the sea.
You enter Wagtail Cottage through the kitchen and all the accommodation is on the ground floor.
The fully equipped kitchen leads into a living/dining room with TV, with access to the conservatory that provides those gorgeous views out across the beach and the sea.
It’s a wonderful spot for a breakfast cuppa or an evening drink after a busy day sightseeing or on the beach.
There are 2 generously sized bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin, both decorated in a beachside style.
The family bathroom has a walk-in shower, WC and basin.
Outside, there is off-road parking for 2 cars, along with a seaside garden featuring a large patio and garden furniture.
There is also a small seating area close to the beach, and although there is no direct access from the house, you can reach the beach in just 30 seconds.
The beach at Southerness is a vast expanse of sand stretching around Southerness Point, offering views over the Solway Firth.
Spend time exploring the dunes, visiting the lighthouse, or enjoying fish and chips by the shore.
For nature lovers, the surrounding area of Dumfries and Galloway offers three nearby nature reserves.
Golf enthusiasts will also be pleased to find four courses within 10 miles, including two links courses at Southerness close by.
Wagtail Cottage makes a fantastic base for those looking to enjoy the great outdoors by the coast overlooking the beach.

The cottage was overall clean however there was a large amount of sand under and around the cushions on the sofa !
The bathroom had no lick on the door, fine for a couple but not if you have friends with you. The duvet was small for the double bed and both that and the pillows could have been of better property. Kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we required. No welcome pack was available . The garden is perfect for dogs but the locks on the gates are very awkward and you have to lift the inside gate to keep it locked. Central heating and hot water was plentiful as it was definitely needed during our stay as apart from the first day it was very wet and windy. Didn’t detract from our stay in Southerness though !
We were looking for a lovely relaxing break for both my wife, my dog and I and this is exactly what we got.
It was quiet, comfortable, clean and amazing views. We were fortunate with the weather, so were able to take advantage of the garden and lots of beach walks. It was lovely just sitting looking out into the sea and reading my book. We will definitely be back.
Lovely holiday from start to finish.
Nice big garden with amazing sea views, the pups were very happy with a fully enclosed safe garden. Comfortable accommodation, with a nautical vibe, everything we needed. Dog friendly beach a few minutes walk away. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will revisit in the future.
