What guests are saying
Directions to find the lodge was inadequate, we honestly thought this place was not in existence.
When we walked through the front door and saw a mass crack in the ceiling. Directly on my left was a framed painting that had broken with a large splinter of wood sticking out. The ceilings were cracked through out and the one in the bathroom went half way down the wall. There was a nail sticking out on a seat that ripped in to my wife's trousers. The tiles in the kitchen are broken and chipped, need replacing. The shower was exposed to the main road and surrounding working area, no curtains or blinds at all. I should of just booked in to a local premiere and asked for a refund but due to the reasons why we there it became a make do situation. We wasn't on a vacation but visiting someone that was on their last legs. Sykes need to visit this place to see it for real and refusing our complaints and refund. The settee is broken and sitting on the floor, the decor is old and needs doing, mixed wallpapers all over and more, we have photos to show it all. This is a family retreat and I mean just back up and retreat from the building. Also there was no information advertised that there was a pheasant farm that had shooting at the weekend, that would of been a reason not to stay at this place. Seeing the pheasant wandering around outside our windows was the only enjoyable thing about this place.
