    Very comfy bed both my wife and myself sleepy like logs each night. Idea base for out and about only 5 miles drive to Brightlingsea. Would definitely stay again

  • "For 2 people the annex was spacious and well appointed."

    The conservatory looking out on the large garden and bird feeders was a good bonus at the end of a day travelling around the area. Would highly recommend.

  • "A repeat holiday at the Annex just as good as last year."

    A problem last year was no shelf in the bathroom for toiletries, that has been rectified. Lovely view over the garden. Everything was clean and tidy. Very good instruction and walks folders. Lovely hosts Paul and Lex even left us milk, wine and hot drink supplies. We hope to return next year.

  • "The Annexe is bright and cheerful inside with views out from the living room and dining area over a lovely garden."

    The accommodation is superb, has all the facilities you could wish for. nicely designed interior. On arrival we found a couple of tins of gin and tonic and a small bottle of wine, which was much appreciated after our 5 hour trip in the car. Thorrington has a Post Office come grocery store and the Red Lion Pub where we had a nice meal in the evening of our first day. The owners were very helpful to us which was much appreciated.

  • "A good, comfortable property with all we could have wished for and with plenty of information on where to go for scenery, walking, boating, eating and a host of other things."

    The host's/owners were nice, friendly, helpful people too!

    It was lovely to have Mr and Mrs. Buskell stay with us. Apart from Thursday they had lovely.weather and they certainly got.out.and about to enjoy the area. Hopefully the M25 was OK.on the way home. Property Owner

  • "We had a very nice holiday."

    The Annex was lovely, much better than we expected. We are regular holiday cottage renters from various diferent companies and the Annex is the best we have seen in a number of years of this type of holiday. Everything was supplied, tea, coffee, milk, and wine. Everthing was clean and tidy and we hope the owners were happy with the way we left it. If i can suggest an improvement, maybe a shelf in the bathroom at face level for toiletries, toothbrushes etc.

  • "We found “The Annex” incredibly comfortable and cleanliness first class."

    It provided everything we needed for our stay. The welcome pack was appreciated, delicious and a very kind thought. The property was perfectly located, exceptionally clean, the bed extremely comfortable and surroundings very quiet. Bird feeders attracted at least eleven species including a woodpecker. All of this has contributed to us leaving feeling relaxed and refreshed. We look forward to returning in the future.

    Peter and his wife were lovely guests. Lex and I are so pleased that they enjoyed their stay at The Annex. We are impressed that they saw a woodpecker. I have yet to glimpse one. Property Owner
