  • "The property was fantastic, even better than the write up."

We felt at home as soon as we entered and the extra provisions left by Edith and Matt were a lovely surprise. There is everything you would need in the property and more. It has been thoughtfully furnished and stocked. Very quiet area and surrounded by greenery. We loved watching the wide variety of birds on the feeders. We were also lucky to have fantastic weather so were able to make use of the verandah and sit in the sun having breakfast. Edith and Matt are lovely and very helpful if needed. We have already recommended this properry to friends and if we ever holiday in this region again we will be sure to book here. Thank you. We had a fantastic, comfortable holiday.

Lovely place to stay and Matthew and Edith so welcoming. The homely touches with lovely bread and eggs on arrival with plenty of fruit tea coffee etc was a nice touch. And finally stayed in a place with a decent TV which, for relaxing with a movie after a day on the mountains, was perfect!! ! Highly recommend.

Great place to come back to after a hard day in the hills too. Matthew and Edith are great hosts and extremely helpful, highly recommend this cottage.

  • "Amazing! We have booked several holiday cottages with Sykes over the years, and we have never ever had a bad one, this cottage though was the best we have ever stayed in by far!"

The view was stunning and the cottage itself was very well presented, little things like their being flasks in the kitchen for when we went out, bread and fresh eggs on the side (bantam ones as well which was lovely) and a washing machine made the holiday even easier, and shows the owners obviously know what their doing. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. This was actually our honeymoon after being married at Gretna and I can honestly say it was more than good enough for a honeymoon, best holiday I think we have ever had.

  • "We spent two wonderful weeks at Little Tigh Clovelly over the Christmas holidays."

The property is perfect for a couple, very clean, really warm and comfortable with everything you need to feel at home (good shower, Amazon tv; excellent wifi). It is actually much more spacious than the photos suggest! The place was decorated for Christmas and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook proper meals. Great bean to cup coffee machine, good selection of crockery, and plenty of cutlery with all the usual appliances. We were cycling and walking and there was plenty of space to dry clothes, clean shoes etc. The owners were lovely. They made space for our bikes in their secure garage, made sure we had everything we needed and could get in touch for anything but left us to it otherwise. We really appreciated the useful welcome pack and all the thoughtful touches to the property. I left a jacket behind when we left and they kindly posted it back to us within a day. Definitely one to return to!

Those small touches make a big difference. Edith and Matthew made it clear they were on hand if we had any queries or problems, but they respected our privacy too. The cottage is in a lovely spot, accessible for local walks and beauty spots. We would recommend it for walkers as there are many options. Fort William is only a few miles away which was convenient

  • "We booked our cottage for two weeks but could have done with an extra week to visit a few extra places."

The cottage was ideally located to explore a large area of the Highlands and was situated in a lovely quiet area but with good access to the main roads. The cottage was immaculate and very comfortable with everything we needed. Edith and Mathew made us very welcome and were on hand if there were any problems, which there weren't. There are not a lot of "attractions" to visit in this area so it is really an area to visit for walking and sightseeing the fantastic rivers, waterfalls, lochs and mountains. We were visiting at the time of Covid-19 so of course some attractions were not available but the West Highland Railway from Fort William to Mallaig would have been stunning. To summarise, a beautiful cottage, scenery and holiday.

The hosts were warm, welcoming and nothing was a problem! After an initial greeting and show around the property, they kept to themselves but were extremely approachable if we wanted any advice on where to visit. The cottage itself was cosy, really well equipped (spices, a range of teas, dishwasher tablets, handwash and more) and extremely warm! The attention to detail was lovely, providing us with boot cleaning towels and a surplus of towels to use for the powerful, warm shower (this even had the option to play music and flashing lights!). Overall, a perfect stay and would go back in a heartbeat.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation we choose to eat in the house and the kitchen contains all the facilities you need to be able to do this. Also some thoughtful extra bits and pieces were available on arrival. Cleanliness standards are very high.

The cottage itself is extremely well equipped; nothing was missing for us to enjoy our week’s stay. There was even a good range of herbs and spices to cook with! The owners had provided a welcome pack of milk, bread, cheese, fruit, biscuits and a large range of teas, which was very much appreciated. The owners live onsite but apart an initial welcome and a quick tour of the cottage you would not know they were there. I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to other people.
