  • "We had a fantastic time at Shore Lodge and the hosts were so helpful and accommodating, even allowing a later check out as our ferry was late afternoon."

There was also a delicious graze box with fresh Brie, salami, fruits and crackers which was perfect as we arrived really late at night. We loved the hot tub after a day of exploring the islands. There was everything you could need in a holiday home , finished to a really high standard and decorated beautifully. Highly recommend and definitely will be back.

Every need was catered for, plus some additional luxuries for an eventful stay. The modern design had the wow factor and was a pleasure to use as a base as it was located in an ideal place to explore the islands. Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming, providing us with places of interest only known by locals. An amazing place to stay and would definitely recommend it to other holiday makers.

  • "It was a pleasure to arrive at Shore Lodge on a very wet and windy February night."

I was met at the door just to make sure I was comfortable and knew where everything was. A delightful and imaginative welcome pack meant I could relax immediately. The Hot Tub area is very private and perfect for watching the night skies. Lots and lots of stars and a very clear moon... no northern lights this time. Loved my time here; comfortable, spacious with a very well thought out interior throughout.

It has everything you could wish for. Lovely view out of the front which is all glass. Let’s in so much daylight. The hot tub in the back is great during the evening after a day out exploring the fascinating local area. Rosemary and Mark the owners are a delight and do everything to make your stay enjoyable. Scrumptious grazing box welcomes you on your arrival and they are happy to help with any local information re places to visit. We couldn’t believe it when our last day arrived. Still so much left to do. We will definately return to Shore Lodge.

Comfortable bed and seating, kitchen with smart appliances and all the peace and quiet one could wish for! Hostess really so friendly and warm and being brought up in Lewis had bags of local knowledge about every corner of the island - just a gem!

  • "Shore Lodge is beautiful, restful, calming."

The view is wonderful, even on a dull day, and those floor to ceilings windows really make the place. Even though it is a 1-bedroom place, it is so spacious and airy that you’d expect there to be at least 2 bedrooms. The decor is so clean and laidback, which just adds to the overall feeling of calm. I really appreciated Rosemarie’s welcome grazing box, which kept me going for several days (also the bread and milk, etc). I would definitely aim to return here, and hopefully for longer than my fantastic week.

  • "Shore Lodge was perfect for my short trip to the Isle of Lewis."

Very close to Stornoway and the ferry. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the linen so luxurious I had to ask what make it was. I'm sure it was why I slept so well. The Hot Tub tucked away in a very private area at the back is such a wonderful treat. Lashings of hot water in the shower which was so relaxing after a long day. The kitchen is so well equipped. I want to rebook for a longer stay.

Stornoway is the only town in the Outer Hebrides and is a bustling and growing area with a busy working harbour, a great selection of shops selling local gifts including Harris Tweed, leisure facilities and wonderful award-winning restaurants selling locally sourced food of the highest quality. Lewis is a place where the lilting Gaelic language is spoken everywhere!
