What guests are saying
5 Porkington Terrace is a lovely house with the most beautiful view.
It is very convenient for both the beach and the town. The problems are that no thought has been given to a family staying in what is a very large house. The cutlery is minimum as are dishes, plates, bowls etc. The fridge and dishwasher is only big enough for a couple, this was a big problem for us. I have never stayed in a holiday let with no drawers for clothes not even a hairdryer! Very dissapointed and would definitely not recommend for a family
Lovely accommodation for our short break.
We went with another family and couldn’t fault it. Great location with stunning views, with a short walk down to the harbour and town. Comfortable beds with the whole place maintained and furnished to a high standard. A very slight improvement would be a bigger fridge. Would recommend.
Disappointing stay We rented this property for 8 people, 6 adults (including 2 elderly guests), 2 children and 2 dogs.
Firstly, we arrived with 3 cars, and there was nowhere to park outside the property. The parking opposite is simply a lay-by that anyone can use. This made getting suitcases, shopping and everything else to the property particularly difficult, especially with the steps leading up to the entrance. It was even more challenging for our elderly guests. As a result, we had to park overnight in the car park at the bottom of the hill, costing us £9 per car, per night. On a positive note, the beds were freshly made, and there were fresh towels provided. However, the rest of the property looked as though it had only received a very quick clean, rather than a thorough turnover between guests. During our stay, we also noticed that the property is currently up for sale, which perhaps explains why it felt like it was missing that little bit of care and attention that would make such a difference. Would I recommend this property? If you have more than one car or elderly members in your party, 100% no. Would I stay here again? Unfortunately, 100% no. For us, the parking situation, access and general cleanliness made the stay much more difficult and disappointing than we had expected. So much so that we left a day early.
