  • "Our annual female friends week and our 3rd year at Plummers Water (although our first booked through Sykes) and already booked for next year."

    Wonderful setting with the Forest right outside the gates. Interesting walks for those that can and want to. Comfie accommodation with a lovely garden. Lymington only a 10 minute drive away for a plethora of charity shops, 'Spoons and general shopping. Neal, the owner, is very approachable, and deals with any problems immediately. Also keeps you informed of anything he feels you need to know before arrival. More than happy to make return visits.

  • "Just back from a lovely weekend with friends."

    The cottage was perfect for our stay with lots of room for us all and the enclosed garden was just what we needed with the dogs. It had everything we needed for cooking and we loved watching the wildlife in the garden and on the forest.

  • "This is a fabulous place to stay."

    The location is idyllic, with the heath just outside the gate, offering miles of road free walking. Perfect if you have canine companions with you. On our first walk soon after we arrived we met five donkeys, all happily munching on the gorse shrubs which grow everywhere …. it made my day! The property is perfect; spotlessly clean and has everything you could possibly need for a long or short break. Being all on one level was nice for us too, with a few ‘stair free’ days being much appreciated. Everything in the well equipped kitchen worked and wasn’t complicated to use, meaning eating in was a pleasure. We were visiting with two old dogs who enjoyed the lovely garden, which is fully enclosed and safe. The sun room was a big hit too - for dogs and humans alike and is a great place to soak up some sun (we were lucky with the weather) and just relax. From dawn till dusk all you can hear is birdsong … and as night fell we saw bats flying round the garden. Communication with the owner before we went and a message while there was nice and shows interest on their part without interfering! There was only two of us staying, so used a fraction of the rooms on offer but it would be a great place for a family, with comfortable bedrooms and multiple bathrooms and it’s somewhere we will definitely return to again in the future. It’s in a quiet location but not far from places of interest, and there’s a beach only twelve minutes away, which is handy. Beaulieu and Lymington are only a short drive away and the beautiful New Forest is all around you. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place - I can see it becoming a holiday favourite.

  • "Wonderful location straight out to open forest ."

    Clean and very comfortable beds and seats . Cold on arrival and not able to adjust heating but the owner was extremely helpful and friendly and sorted it out . The bungalow is a bit dated but that was ok . Lovely garden full of birds . Parking for 2 cars . Took my 2 dogs and it was perfect for us . I’d definitely return.

    Glad you enjoyed your stay enough that you want to return in the future. The cleaners do open all the doors and windows to air the property through when they clean so it can take a few hours to warm through once they have left especially during the Winter and Spring. Property Owner

  • "Lovely quiet base for a dog walking or rambling holiday, as it's possible to walk for miles without having to cross any roads."

    However don't forget to pack comfortable, waterproof boots, if there has been a lot of rain! The well equipped kitchen, has practically every utensil you need, to cook anything from bread to a full roast dinner. There's a lovely big, good quality, fridge freezer and multi oven range. Excellent comprehensive folder containing operating instructions for appliances, places to visit, eat etc. Lovely approachable owner, who immediately answered our questions. Finally, we spent many peaceful afternoons, drinking tea, eating home made cakes, sat in the sun room watching the garden birds feeding. Bliss, totally able to forget the rest of the rat race...

Pilley is a peaceful little village infused with history and charm located near Lymington and Milford-on-Sea in Hampshire. The village is surrounded by a beautiful tapestry of forest and heathland where the famous free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys are often seen sauntering along the lanes. This lovely little village comes with local provisions from Pilley village shop, a church, post office and village hall. What is reputed to be one of the New Forest’s oldest and arguably the best pub, The Fleur De Lys, dating back to 1096, sits in the middle of the village and has a reputation for outstanding food. In the nearby port town of Lymington you can head to Puffin Cruises for some fun sightseeing boat trips along Lymington River and spend a sunny family day out at Lymington Sea Water Swimming Baths. Once you've worked up an appetite, head to The Haven Bar & Restaurant. Take a scenic drive to the coastal village of Milford on Sea and visit Hurst Castle, take pictures with the colourful beach huts at New Beach Huts, Milford on Sea and have a family dinner at The Lighthouse.
