Well equipped comfortable house in beautiful surroundings in a beautiful area of the country

This was our second visit to Meon Boscage and it was as lovely if not better than the first.

The house is clean and has everything you could possibly want or need. The garden was fabulous in the sunshine with the decking by the stream a relaxing suntrap to pass the afternoon in peace. The BBQ worked well, as did the firepit, and so much space to sit out and enjoy our time together. The house and garden are spacious enough for 5 adults not to feel on top of each other all the time but cosy enough for get togethers for games and food. The welcome hamper was fantastic and very much appreciated, as were all the small touches which make it feel more like staying at a friend's house than a holiday cottage. We'll be back!

The house and in particular the wonderful garden surpassed our expectations and the grandchildren loved the garden.

The house was very well equipped, and the care taken by the owners to make us feel welcome was much appreciated. The adults enjoyed sitting by the stream and the children enjoyed the swings. The weather prevented us from having a BBQ though. We saw the deer on several occasions wandering through the garden, and tiny fish in the stream. Sadly we chose what was probably the wettest week of the year so far so we weren’t in the garden as much s as we would have liked. There were lots of things to do within reasonable distance to the property.

Our 4th time of staying in this very comfortable house, always a lovely welcome pack with the addition of home made cakes this time!

A bit wetter than we've had in the past, which limited the time we spent kayaking on, and sitting by, the river but the house is well equipped for spending time indoors. The dogs love the river, garden and wooded area. Thanks again Jackie and Andy. We'll be back!

10/10 for cleanliness, comfort, style and location. Immaculately decorated and attention to detail second to none. Hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, with a basket of goodies, local guides and recommendations for walks and places to eat, I wanted for nothing. The garden was a highlight; even though some of it was flooded, the dog, my grandchildren and I had a great time wading! I cannot rate this house, the location and the hosts highly enough. I am looking forward to coming back.

It was way beyond our expectations !

I was there to celebrate my birthday with the family and we couldn’t have chosen a better location and well equipped place to have a family quiet time.

This property was brilliant for a 3 generation family stay.

It was clean, well appointed inside and out and had everything you would need for a perfect break. The attention to detail was amazing, the owners had literally thought of everything! Most of what I had packed went hone unused.The garden was fabulous, particularly down on the decking area by the river. The children and out Labrador loved it. There was no need for television, the fantastic view from the patio doors was entertainment enough, we even had deer visiting first thing in the morning. The welcome package and card was a lovely, much appreciated touch. Thank you Jackie and Andy, we hope to be back.

The house was amazing and the owners have thought of everything.

The welcome pack with greeting letter and card was a lovely touch. There were also treats and spare food for the dog! The garden was fantastic and gave room for three boisterous grandsons and a border collie to let off steam without causing grief. Lovely to be able to fish from the end of the garden, what a treat! One of our grandsons had his twelfth birthday while at the house so fire pit was the order of the day with smores galore. Would so recommend this house to anyone who values peace and quiet and nature. Look out for the moles, the amphibians, the squirrels and the deer. Also many, many birds to watch. What an amazing place, so glad we found it. Hoping to return in the future. Thank you to Jackie and Andy for allowing us to enjoy their house and garden, it was a pleasure.

Meon Boscage is the most special house, stunningly designed and furnished.

The artwork in particular was lovely. The grounds are amazing and ripe for exploring by our small grandsons who cried when they had to leave! We have stayed in many Sykes Cottages, but none has been quite so beautifully and thoughtfully equipped. Lots of very many happy memories were made. Thank you Jackie and Andy.

Great space for the family. Loved the garden especially the hammocks and the decking by the river. The house was very clean and well equipped. Kind welcome pack, thank you. The weather was perfect and we all had a very memorable week.

Beautiful house , superb madyer bedroom and each room very well equipped.

The owners had gone the extra mile, supplying high quality toiletries and soap in all the bathrooms and in the kitchen. (They even supplied a spare toothbrush which was most welcome!!!) The tree lined long lawn leads to a shady spot wit chairs near the river..... a cool oasis in the heat wave.We appreciated the new air conditionets in the bedrooms. This house. would be cosy in the winter too. The handbook for the house was comprehensive too.

We totally loved everything about the property- the house was so beautiful, the view from the house across the vast lawn leading down to the river was amazing.

My husband and son enjoyed the fishing, they caught trout and minnows. I relaxed on the deck by the river and watched the world go by! It was my granddaughters first family holiday, she loved it and my daughter’s dog was loving all the open space to roam around in. Thank you so much for the welcome basket too! We definitely would return and we highly recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing time.

Absolutely stunning property and grounds.

The owner provided a very nice touch of "extras" and there was nothing that hadn't been thought of to provide comfort. We have never been to a property that has been so well equipped, including items for our dog. We also loved watching the deer in the garden, molehills growing before our eyes and bats along with the riverside decking area.

I would love to give feed back but the owner left me a note to say if I can't give a fair feedback then don't say anything .

Not what I was expecting when I arrived for my weekend away We were very confused because this was our second visit but probably our last. What a shame.

Had a wonderful time at Meon Boscage.

Property and grounds were beyond expectations. Hosts were wonderful providing a beautiful Easter hamper and really accommodating. Everything that you could want in the cottage and spotlessly clean. A real hidden gem and can’t wait to return.

My 3 friends , myself and my little spaniel stayed 3 nights at Meon Boscage and planned a relaxing stay.

The house was PERFECT in every way - we couldn't fault it if we'd tried. The owners Jackie and Andy had thought of everything (even for visiting dogs!) and the place was spotless, welcoming and very comfortable. The outside space was vast - perfect for a bouncy spaniel! - and even the tiniest detail had been thought of. Hot sunny weather in the mud 20's (end of April) didn't hurt either. Although we didn't meet the owners, they were on hand speedily to answer any questions. We will definitely all be back ! Thank you !

Beautiful relaxing few days at an outstanding property.

The owners provide so many thoughtful touches such as a generous welcome pack and a good selection of bathroom products. Every room has many interesting works of art and examples of designer furnishings. The grounds are extensive with many wildlife visitors. Definitely want to come back.

We had a fabulous time, even in mid January.

Plenty to do in the surrounding area, and the house was welcoming, comfortable and well stocked with thoughtful provisions. It sometimes felt a little bit cold but hey - it's January - however the log burner made all the difference! It was lovely to sit and watch the birds and deer in the garden. Such a hidden gem!

We had the most wonderful stay at Meon Boscage as an early Christmas get together with family and friends. The owners, Jackie & Andy, really were fantastic hosts. We were over the moon with the Christmas decorations, the amazing welcome hamper and a lovely letter wishing us a fabulous stay. Meon Boscage is decorated beautifully, has absolutely everything you could ever need and makes for a perfect relaxing break. Thank you so so much, we’ll definitely be back!

Mein Boscage was absolutely delightful.

The welcome basket was lovely and there were so many thoughtful extra touches that made our stay very easy and special. The kitchen is really well equipped with plenty of groceries provided and all the bathrooms have good quality toiletries. We loved the decking area by the stream, sitting relaxing and watching the dog run rings around the huge garden was a highlight. We'd definitely go back.

What a fabulous find this was - the house and grounds were everything we ( a group of 6 adults) were looking for to spend a week away from it all - even though we only live an hour away!

The house is so well appointed with everything you could possibly need - and more! Hosts were very friendly and left us a generous welcome pack. The decking area next to the river is a great place to relax, which we did often. We loved the place and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Meon Boscage was an absolute delight!

The house was clean, perfectly laid out and the owners have literally thought of everything to ensure that guests have nothing to want for during their stay. The grounds are beautiful and our 4 grandchildren spent many hours exploring through the woodland and down by the river whilst us oldies relaxed on the patio with a drink. Visits to Beaulieu, Southampton and Portsmouth well worth the drive. We had a fantastic week (helped by glorious weather!) and will definitely return.

Spacious and comfortable house, the kitchen is so well equipped and we enjoyed all the original artwork.

The garden is incredible, our children spent hours having adventures, catching fish in the river and watching the birds of prey. Lots of interesting places to visit nearby. Jackie was so helpful and friendly whenever we contacted her.

The perfect venue for our golden wedding celebrations, a family group of seven.

Meon Boscage is a very special place, the house modern, eco friendly, comfortable and stylish, with everything you could need or want and more, from a generous welcome pack and golden decorations and gift, to toiletries in the bathrooms, an excellently appointed kitchen, even a wine fridge. Games, indoor and outdoor, and dog essentials also provided. The grounds are glorious, birdlife, squirrels and even a deer visited and we enjoyed cricket and croquet on the lawn, though sadly rain stopped the BBQ day. We explored the beautiful countryside and enjoyed visits to Winchester, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight as well as meals from the two local pubs. Thank you so much Jackie and Andy for a wonderful week in your lovely home, for your attention to detail and your kindness and generosity. We loved it!

It was a wonderful place stay, every need was catered for.

The house is beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The grounds are so impressive, with a beautiful patio to sit and watch the trees. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay the best it could be. We had three nights here and returned rested and relaxed, highly recommend and we will be returning soon. This is our second stay at Meon Boscage and I can honestly say has everything you could possibly need, a very well equipped property surrounded by some stunning views, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but then within a short walk you have pubs a shop and just a short drive you have many activities and some beautiful country side which is what makes the property perfect to explore the area, hosts are very accommodating and it feels like nothing is too much trouble.

We will hopefully be back next year for another relaxing weekend. Thanks

Fabulous property, comfortable and well equipped, owners go above and beyond to make your stay perfect, including a bottle of champagne, wine and cards because they knew we were celebrating our 60th wedding anniversary The gardens perfect for our dogs , and so much wildlife for all to enjoy.

Had everything we needed and more in a great location.

Amazing stay, beautiful property, nice welcome pack and great facilities.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable week! The river had burst its bank which meant that the garden was completely flooded and largely unusable but that also brought a different dimension, with the most incredible wildlife and in many ways enhanced our stay. The local area is beautiful and there are many local towns within easy reach. The Baker’s Arms pub was not recommended by the owner but we went twice and had a lovely time….lota of space, very dog friendly, great service and the food was very nice. The other local, which was more highly recommended, The Bucks Head, we found very small, hot and the service lacking. The pizzas were okay but other food was poor. We much preferred The Baker’s Arms. We would definitely visit again!

Perfect holiday home.

We had a great time, relaxation and comfort combined with lovely views and garden. Watching the wildlife on the water meadow was lovely. Our dog Fynley was also relaxed and happy with secure space to run around outside and a very pet friendly space inside! Fabulous time had by all.

This was our return to Meon Boscage and it’s even better than before.

Jackie and Andy have changed little things since we were last here that have improved the house which, in our opinion, was pretty perfect anyway. We were blessed with the river bursting its banks thus converting the bottom of the garden into a bird sanctuary that was a joy to watch. Honestly love Meon Boscage so much. I can’t say much more than that!

We had a lovely stay here and definitely want to come back!

The kitchen is fully stocked and everything is easy to find and clean to use! Even with the very rainy weather, we still enjoyed ourselves and cosied up on the amazing sofa and spent hours enjoying the wood-burning fire! Our dog also loved the heated floors and window watching, and the cottage also came fully stocked for her!

This was one of the best equipped holiday cottages we have ever stayed in.

What a beautiful setting, although very flooded during our stay. Jackie could not have done more to ensure we were safe during a bad storm. We had a great time to be able to relax with family. Big thanks to Jackie and Andy for being great hosts.

We had a wonderful Christmas at Meon Boscage.

Jackie had prepared things for our festive stay with great thoughtfulness and generosity, and the result was a real home-from-home experience.

We loved our stay at Meon Boscage, for a long weekend with friends and family.

It's a fantastic house, set in a beautiful landscape with views across the valley, river and in winter lake. The house is very well-equipped, with plenty of crockery, cutlery and glassware, so you can easily have more than one meal before using the dishwasher. There are lots of pots, pans and serving dishes if you want to eat in. The beds were really comfortable. The games and jigsaw cupboard was useful for wet days, and we tried some of the local walks. But it's also nice just to sit and watch the wildlife out of the windows. The house was warm with the under floor heating, and we only put the log fire on one night really to see the flames, not for heat. We'd very much like to cover back soon, maybe in spring when we imagine it's full of bird song.

It is an amazing house with every facility you might want for your stay. I have never stayed in a property that is so well equipped. We were using the house to attend a family wedding and our party of 7 were travelling from different parts of the UK, arriving at different times. The first couple to arrive rang me to say that I would not want to leave the house, they were so right! Would definitely stay in the property again.

Although the weather was against us, a group of five friends enjoyed an interesting week in Meon Boscage as it was within easy access of Portsmouth, Chichester, Winchester and Southampton.

Unfortunately we couldn't go walking on the South Downs due to the weather but I'm sure the views would have been amazing. Thank you Jackie and Andy.

Wow, I was absolutely blown away by Meon Boscage.

The house and gardens are absolutely gorgeous, the location is fantastic. The kids were over the moon with the Halloween decorations and the pumpkin that was so kindly left with the welcome basket (which was so lovely thank you!) Everything was absolutely perfect and we would not change a thing about our stay. Jackie and Andy were brilliant hosts. We are already planning to come back. Thank you so much for the perfect getaway and we will see you again!

I had the pleasure of staying at this stunning house for a family break celebrating my dads 60th.

The property is beautiful and impeccably maintained, making it a delightful retreat for both kids and adults. The availability of board games at the house added an extra layer of fun for everyone. One of the standout features of our stay was the lovely welcome hamper, a thoughtful touch that set the tone for our visit. The expansive grounds were a hit with both the kids and our furry family members . The morning walk in the grounds was a fantastic way to start the day. The house is well-maintained, beautiful, and a secluded gem that's perfect for making cherished memories with loved ones. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.

We've just had the most wonderful week here.

The generous welcome pack, lovely toiletries, very well equipped kitchen, and a well laid out, comfortable house made it very difficult to leave. The dogs loved the huge garden, wooded areas and swimming in the river, and there were many thoughtful touches too for our four legged friends. We brought kayaks down and had great fun paddling in Meon Boscage's section of the river, if we weren't having drinks on the decking on the river. We can't wait to come back.

We had a lovely holiday.

The house and grounds were amazing. Before we left we were worried that walking to the pub with young children might be tricky. However, we found it easy as there are good trails and, when you are on the road, very few cars. Finally, we enjoyed walking and running on the Meon Valley Trail, which is just a few hundred yards away from the house - great for running off some of that excellent pub food! Thanks to the owners - for all the extra touches that made the house so homely, we really appreciated them.

Superb house, garden and location with fantastic river side setting complete with decking for relaxing with a drink or two.

Easy walk to pubs with amazing food. Property finished to a vey high spec and wants for nothing. The owners have thought of every little detail and are very welcoming, thoughtful and attentive. We would highly recommend!

Some really nice touches in the house and loved the hosts taste in decor - lots of lovely reading material. Wished the weather was better to make use of the deck by the stream and the large garden. Also love that it is off grid and attention given to sustainability and living consciously for the environment.

What made our stay extra special were the owners, who were kindness itself and made us feel more like welcome guests than customers. The area had all we needed locally with a well kept pub and an awarding winning butcher perfect for a cheeky BBQ, looking forward to a return visit not to far in the future.

Stayed for a week with family to celebrate my 75th and had local friends drop by each day.

The property is in the most lovely countryside setting, very well appointed and comfortable. The open plan feeling with doors open is brilliant when the sun shines and one can wander down to the river or eat out on the terrace; and there is a lovely log fire for the chillier evenings. We had a delightful time and would thoroughly recommend it for a relaxing break.

What a personal, friendly and warm welcome we find when we entered this beautiful house with amazing garden and view.

Everything in the house was been taking care of and so much more. Jackie and Andy are really the masters of all hostesses! We have experienced a beautiful English surrounding, nature, piece and quiet. And yet there is so much to do, to see,to taste, to experience, to enjoy in the environment. We definitely will come back to fully enjoy again with our boys.

The house itself was beautifully finished with all the modern conveniences you could ask for, including a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and plenty of space to relax and unwind. But what really stood out to us were the special touches that the owners had added to make our stay even more memorable. From the welcome hamper filled with delicious treats, to the thoughtful decorations and cozy blankets, every detail had been carefully considered to ensure that we felt right at home. And let's not forget the stunning finish of the house, with elegant furnishings and stylish decor throughout. Overall, I would highly recommend this holiday rental property to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway with friends or family. With its perfect location, special touches, and stunning finish, it's the perfect place to unwind and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Newly refurbished and beautifully finished house with tons of personalised touches and artwork and thoughtful amenities eg makeup remover wipes and COVID test kits in the bathrooms, an abundance of fluffy white towels, a basket full of goodies to eat plus fresh milk in the fridge when we arrived.

Very well stocked kitchen and most importantly, a decent Nespresso coffee machine. Easy and excellent communication with the owner. The location was perfect, off the beaten track but close to shops and the village pub and the South Downs Way. We had an amazing stay and can’t wait to come back. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

We stayed here for the first week of Easter and it didn't disappoint.

The property is beautifully located with an amazing amount of space, both inside and out. We were welcomed with a wonderful hamper of goodies which included Easter eggs for the kids, bubbly, beer and snacks! To say the house is well equipped is an understatement. Clean and comfortable upstairs and down and decorated and fitted to a high standard. Jackie and Andy the owners made themselves very available and the information provided in print was spot on. We will 100% be coming back. Highly recommended!

This cottage is so fabulous.

As a group we have been hiring dog friendly cottages for the best part of 15 years and Meon Boscage ranks right at the top of our favourites. The welcome pack was so lovely as were the personalised touches around the property. Everything is comfy, spacious and warm. All the bedrooms are of a high standard. The kitchen has everything you need and more. The location of the cottage is so beautiful, set in huge grounds with the river running at the bottom of the garden. Look out for the owl, the muntjacs, the swans and many more. Jackie and Andy were more than helpful with advice and help if needed. Nico, our old Jack Russell, really appreciated the treats and throws so she could enjoy the sofa. It is refreshing for understanding owners when it comes to allowing dogs to these holiday homes. Finally, the surrounding area is really great. Everything is in walking distance, all the pubs and local stores we went to were very good, and the South Downs way provides endless options for walks. Genuinely I can’t recommend Meon Boscage enough and we look forward to returning as soon as possible.

This is a fantastic property for a back to nature get away, with lots to do nearby if you want it.

(NT, Winchester, Zoo, Portsmouth and Southampton). It is also beautifully tasteful and very comfortable.The owners were lovely and helpful, and kind enough to meet me as it was dark on arrival. The house benefits from under floor heating so although it was February we were very cosy, there is also a wood burner if needed. I was reluctant to leave and would love to go back in the future. Great food is provided at the pub nearby and plenty of walks on your doorstep.
