1 The Stables

Brilliant!

We were very happy with the accommodation.

The cottage was clean and comfortable. It was well equipped and had everything you would need. Car parking was good. A quiet, peaceful location.

Hosts were very good.

Location was a good base to explore the island. Great stay.

The accommodation was first rate , everything you could need and lots of extra little touches.

Helen and Paul friendly and helpful. Views from the back garden amazing.

We were made to feel welcome, in all the property had everything we needed.

It was a most enjoyable holiday had by one and all Thank you.

This property and the other two in the same location were rented for a family get together and we were all very pleased with the accommodation.

The owner was helpful and very pleasant and keeps the stables accommodation in good condition. We would certainly recommend these properties and would use them again. It is a beautiful location.

Very comfortable cottage with everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday.

Extremely comfortable beds. Ideally situated to explore the delights of the island. The cottage was so peaceful with a garden and patio area with table and chairs and also sun loungers. Helen, the owner, was so welcoming and could not have been more helpful. This cottage is one of the best we have stayed in and we would not hesitate to rebook for another occasion

A warm welcome from the owner.

Really good accommodation. Everything thing to make for a most enjoyable holiday. Would highly recommend.

Very clean cosy cottage lovely little garden well maintained Everything for a calming holiday

A lovely, comfortable, clean, well equipped property.

We were welcomed by Helen, who was very welcoming and friendly. Everything about 1 The Stables was to our liking. The sitting area was cosy and comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were roomy with comfortable beds and pillows; we both had such good night sleeps. The property is in a lovely peaceful area; loved hearing the birds. There is a nice outside seating area but it was a little bit chilly for us to enjoy. The property is a good base to explore the Island from and there is so much to see and do on the Island. After a day exploring it was such a pleasure to come back to the Stables and relax on comfy sofas in front of the telly. Four nights just wasn’t long enough! We hope to go back at some time. Thank you Helen for letting us stay in your lovely place. Lin and Harry

We had a lovely stay at The stables.

A clean and well equipped cottage in a peaceful location. Helen and Paul were very welcoming and friendly. We were blessed with good weather too!

Lovely clean cottage, with comfortable double bed , Kitchen had everything you needed .

We were lucky to have good weather and sitting in the garden was pleasant with horses trotting by . Would stay here again if we come back to the Isle of Wight .

Very good communication before and during our break.

Thank you

Thank you so much to Helen and Paul .

..our holiday was perfect ...unfortunately cut short due to to husband having a very bad fall and being hospitalised...Helen and Paul we so supportive ❤️ ...The Stable was absolutely lovely ..everything you could possibly want from your holiday ..spotlessly clean a home from home nothing was too much trouble ...would highly recommend

Enjoyed our stay very much.

Cottage very comfortable. Home from home. Everything you need is there. Location wonderful central to the island. So peaceful just in the countryside outside Ryde. definitely would come back and let family & friends know.

Lovely cottage and little garden.

Very peaceful location. Owner, Helen, on hand and happy to help if required.

Superb accommodation and lovely quiet location but near to main attractions Helen and Paul were very welcoming and friendly Came away feeling rejuvenated Chris and Mosie Smith

Excellent property in quiet location Very comfortable and warm with all you need on holiday.

Highly recommended

Excellent cottage, well equipped, clean and warm.

Towels and bedding clean. Area so quiet and peaceful but supermarket and shops a short ride away. A big Thank you to Helen and Paul we loved our stay here and we will return.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We'll maintained cottage in peaceful location.

Excellent accommodation.

Everything you could possibly want for a great holiday. Our host Helen was very welcoming and helpful. We would highley recommend 1 The Stables for a quiet and restful stay. Gillian and David Fuller.

An excellent, comfortable and clean bungalow.

The kitchen was very well equipped for self catering. The beds were very comfortable and we slept very well due to its quiet location. The garden was lovely and sunny in the afternoon with a table, chairs and sun loungers. The owners were very welcoming and have provided lots of information and leaflets, plus games, books, etc. The accommodation is not far from a large Tesco and a short drive to the ferry. There is such a lot to see and do that if we have the opportunity to return we would stay here again.

A lovely cottage.

Comfortable and clean. A good base to visit everything. Although in close proximity to other cottages, it was very private. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to stay there again. Karen and Dennis

the property was comfortable and spacious.

It was very well equipped with plenty of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. There were plenty of outside chairs to sit on, a table and a barbecue. The owner of the property was very friendly and was there to greet us on arrival and to say goodbye as we left.

A very comfortable home away from home, this is the second time we have stayed at this property and hopefully won’t be the last.

On the outskirts of Ryde, it is down a quiet lane so a restful location which was perfect for us. Friendly owners who were quick to welcome us.

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage in a quiet lane with lovely views.

Our hosts were friendly and helpful.

Very comfortable cottage in a good position.

This was our second visit this year. You will not be disappointed.

A very comfortable and well-furnished property, with good on-site parking, in a very convenient location, with a very friendly and helpful owner on site.

We will definitely stay here again next time we are on the Island.

100% would recommend this holiday cottage.

Very clean, comfortable and lovely place. Will definitely be booking again. Helen and Paul the owners were a very lovely couple and so very helpful.

Spacious comfortable property with every thing provided, built about 10 years ago by owners and is well maintained.

Lots of space for parking and only a short drive to facilities. Be warned most village pubs stop serving food by 20.00 hrs. The ferry deal the owner offers is well worth taking advantage of. I think the best way to sum up is to say we will be back for a couple of short breaks this year.

Great place, fantasic host ad excellent price.

This was our first visit to Sykes Cottage and it was great, very friendly and hospitable and a nice location!

We would definitely recommend and are looking to go back again next year!

The Stables is a great place to stay.

Very welcoming and lived up to expectations. It was lovely to sit outside in our own space to read and enjoy the sunshine when we weren’t out and about. Just minutes from the steam train. Slept really well in the comfortable bed which is unusual for me. So much to see on the island so we will be back and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Very neat and tidy property.

Well equipped and appointed. The method of access was good and correspondence with the owner and Sykes was swift and accurate. All in all a holiday cottage a bit above the norm. Just wish the blinds in the bedroom, at least, were curtains in order to keep out the early morning daylight!

Thank you for a wonderful week in no 1 cottage.

No problems at all, everything spotless and very cosy and hopefully in the future we hope to come back. The lovely hosts Helen and Paul were great thank you again xxx

Lovely place to stay, very homely feel.

Would come back again!

Fantastic little cottage , owners Helen & Paul are so helpful and friendly .

I couldn't fault the cottage it was clean and warm .If I'm ever looking for somewhere to stay on the Isle of Wight I will definitely stay at the Stables

The Cottage was really lovely, was greeted by lovely owners who explained all the facilities, tv workings internet etc.

plenty parking. Only downside for us was the beds were quite hard so for those with any back problems would find it difficult. Apart from this we would certainly rebook in the future.

Mr Mrs Wilks very welcoming and informative.

Cottage The Stable comfortable and well equipped and centrally situated for going to any part of the Isle of Wight

great cottage and host

The location was great and the owners very welcoming.

Received a welcome pack (unexpected) - already in the cottage waiting for us (would be useful to update Sykes website to save other customers bringing their own things - i.

e. toilet roll - as this may block their systems). Super cottages in the countryside yet less than 10 minutes by car from Ryde town centre and the beach, about 10 minutes from Havenstreet (steam railway). A haven of peace and quiet-somewhere to relax and re-charge! Hopefully we will be back.

Beautiful rural setting.

The hosts were very friendly and readily available. The cottage was very well presented and was exactly as advertised

A delightful stay over the Christmas period.

Property is clean, cosy and in a quiet location. Welcome gift on our arrival, was greatly appreciated.

This was a lovely cottage in a beautiful country setting.

It was immaculate and very well equipped. The welcome pack was a nice surprise with locals wine and beer . hosts were very friendly and helpful and a great source of info on atttactions

The owner of the property was very welcoming and helpful, which got our holiday off to a good start.

Excellent accommodation, well equipped and handy for most things.

Helen, the owner, was very helpful and available (by phone) at all times. Would most certainly recommend this holiday let.

Friendly welcome, welcome pack including wine, plenty of china & cutlery, comfortable settees & beds, efficient shower, easy WiFi connection, good parking altogether excellent

The Stables was clean, comfortable and better than we expected.

It was ideally situated for many attractions. The owner was very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The Isle of Wight is a wonderful place to visit with many places to see and things to do.

We only had a brief weekend visit to this wonderful place, and only wished we could have stayed longer.

Everything from start to finish whilst staying at 1 The Stables was just perfect. We were met by friendly and helpful host Helen on arrival and she showed us around the chalet and gave us advice on getting from A to B. The chalet itself had all the facilities you need with an abundance of crockery, and household utensils, pots, pans, picnic plates...you name it, they were there so nothing was needed. There was a lovely bottle of wine for us on arrival along with biscuits, milk, tea and coffee. The beds were comfortable and the whole place was immaculate. Can't wait to re-visit, and we will ! Melissa White

One of the best properties and definitely the best owners we have stayed at for a long time

A very well equipped cottage, situated in a lovely rural location yet well located for travel to any part of the island.

A welcoming host. Thanks Helen

This cottage was a 'home from home' it was lovely, Mr and Mrs Wilkes were very welcoming with Mr Wilks taking the time to explain best time to drive to shop and best route to take to avoid roadworks.

We had no problems with appliances etc...

Was not disappointed with any part of the property or the host s.

I would definitely stay at The Stables again and recommend to anyone I know who is looking to visit The Isle of Wight.

This small but well equipped two-bedroom cottage suited me perfectly.

The location close to Ryde and yet in the countryside was ideal and it was a good launch point for my activities which involved walking and sight-seeing. I was able to return home to warm rooms, comfy furniture, Netflicks, great cooking facilities and constant hot water and then retire to one of the best beds I have ever slept in. Hosts were on-site but never intrusive. The IoW recycling system is rather complicated but there were plenty of instructions on how to get it right for collection day. There was a good parking spot and, had it been suitable weather, there was a small garden with BBQ. Outside lights were handy for the nights drawing in and I particularly liked the patio doors - these would be a boon in the summer. My bedroom had plenty of storage, a great dressing table/desk and loads of power sockets. The towels were a decent size and the shower had a strong flow of water. Finding wine, water and beer in the fridge was a lovely touch and I would return to this location and accommodation.

We felt rather bombarded by your emails so have now unsubscribed.

Reluctant therefore to recommend Sykes as an organisation although your cottages are good, and we can recommend them! Where we stayed was lovely and the hosts were great.

Better directions to the cottage, the details provided take you away past your destination

Fantastic place to stay 5 ***** Cottage is lovely, has everything you need and spotlessly clean.

Location is also fantastic, very peaceful. The owners Helen and Paul are very friendly and accommodating, They even took us to meet their ponies and sheep and also gave us a few idea of things to do on our holiday. Perfect in every way.

The cottage had everything we needed.

The location is very good and easy to find. The owners were very helpful. The private garden was nice to sit out in especially early in the morning listening to the birds. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

The instructions on how to get there are inaccurate.

It is not 0.2 miles from the roundabout - more like 150 yards.

The Stables was fantastic everything you could want for a very good holiday.

The owners Helen and Paul were very helpful and informative about the island,We would love to go back in the Summer

We had a fabulous week at this very peaceful cottage.

Good location for our cycling and walking. Only short distance into Ryde town centre. Host very welcoming. Home from home holiday, will look forward to returning. Thank you.

The property was exactly what we wanted and as good as it said in the advert.

The lady who owns the property was very nice and helpful. We both enjoyed our stay immensely and will definitely go with Sykes again.

The accommodation exceeds my expectation and is well placed for all areas to visit during your stay, Eating at the local pub is a must.

Our stay was truly a very positive experience

Very nice Enviroment and the couple are very helpful

Modern and spotlessly clean accommodation.

Extremely comfortable beds. Cosy for October and did not need heating on even though the end of the week cooled down. Seat pads on the dining chairs would have been nice on the wooden chairs. Quiet location and no noise from adjoining cottage. Only cottage that has provided a thermometer in the fridge. I usually take my own! Easy access to hypermarket and Fishbourne ferry. As birders and nature lovers I.o.W. is superb.

Welcoming, friendly and helpful owners.
