  • "Lovely clean van, almost everything you could want, would have been nice for the wi fi to work but nothing all week."

    My wife would have liked a hair dryer but there didn't seem to be one. Could do with some coat hooks on the back of doors, you can get the type that just hook over the top of the door, no screws etc. required. . It must be pointed out that the private beach access is down a VERY STEEP path, any one with mobility problems would find it a major challenge, the café at the bottom on the beach looks abandoned ! . On the week of our visit the site was very very quiet.

  • "Enjoyed our stay very much."

    Very comfortable and the view was stunning. We could see the sailing boats, ferries and even a cruise ship with twinkling lights passing by. All in all a wonderful week. Many thanks.

  • "Everything was lovely, except for the double bed."

    ...you get into bed and instantly you can feel the springs in your back. Had to sleep on top of duvet, luckily I had read some of the reviews so took our own duvet.

  • "Lovely place, a bit of a shame the Internet is very intermittent plus there were a couple of very minor damages to the kitchen blind which wouldn't roll up and the shower room blind which would neither roll down nor up Also the shower had to be repaired but once done was working fine."

    All in all nice clean place and a nice time of year to go as it was very quiet.would definitely go again. John. M

  • "A very clean comfortable and modern caravan , lots of pots and pans."

    Shop on site but no clubhouse and bit of a trek to the nearest pub. Great view of the sea , we had a relaxing break and would book again .

  • "The caravan has a modern feel and is in good condition."

    The view to the sea is incredible and there is convenient beach access a short walk away (less than 5 mins to the beach). The shop on site is reasonably priced and has basics you'll need if you forget anything. I would stay again but only without children. I understand it's nice to have family time without Internet and TV but when you've spent all day entertaining, sometimes the down time of watching a movie together is needed. The smart TV has some freeview channels but you won't be able to watch anything else. The internet is incredibly poor so there isn't an option for hot spotting either. It wouldn't have been so bad if we knew this in advance as we would have brought games and even a DVD player. So it did tarnish our week away as this was our planned down time together that we couldn't have and for two teenagers, limited internet access for a whole week was a struggle. So if you're looking for basic and a quiet life for a week this is perfect but I wouldn't suggest coming with teenagers.

  • "The caravan was clean and tidy, except that the toilet in the shower room had not seen any bleach for a long time."

    The mattress in the double bed was extremely soft, which gave us both backache, and had a metal bar round the edge which could be felt (not encountered this before), pillows were well past their sell-by date, flat and hard. Lovely position on the site with incredible views out to sea, but we were not able to use outside furniture as we were told not to use the glass top on the table so were unable to use for glasses etc as they fell over, and it had to be repacked under its cover and bungee ropes every time, so not worth it. No other comfortable outside seating. The field next to the caravan on the adjacent site was used for a giant screen TV quite loud at times, there was a BBQ and loud music on Saturday night, and axe-throwing 10 yds from the caravan on Sunday! Hardly quiet and peaceful, although Sandhills itself was quiet and beautifully kept. The caravan seemed to have everything we needed (apart from the above), but to supply pans in a holiday let which needed a warning sign about very hot handles seemed a little silly! Otherwise, we did enjoy our stay, the area has lots to do and plenty of places to eat.

  • "A lovely little holiday home with superb views on a wonderfully peaceful site."

    I went with my husband and our (grown-up) daughter. The chalet was advertised as sleeping 4. There was no way 4 people could have managed in the bedrooms and while we are all slim, anyone of bigger build would have really struggled in the shower! Maybe the description of the facilities should make mention of this? Apart from that we really enjoyed our week.

  • "Property was fine but we found the sofas very uncomfortable."

    We had to sit on pillows to make it better. The fridge, once the motor kicked in was very noisy. We mentioned this to reception but haven’t heard anything back yet. Wi-Fi and the internet were almost non existent, we had to stand outside the patio doors just to get 4G and then, it still wasn’t great.

  • "The caravan is well designed and kitchen equipment supplied was excellent."

    It was disappointing that only one (not even full) toilet roll was provided for 2 bathrooms . No soap provided. I did feel these were essentials and let it down. Also a number of pans in the kitchen were dirty.

    Thank you for your feedback. We are a self catering cottage and due to this, we provider starter items for customers for the first few days. These items can vary in different cottages. I am sorry that you had to mention cleanliness issues. This is very out of character for our property and if there are problems during your stay, we are on hand to fix them for you while you are on holiday.     It was fitted out to a very high standard. The position on the site was first class. It was in a very quiet location but within easy reach of at least 3 walks of interest and even a bus stop.

  • "Great stay and great location."

    Caravan was clean and tidy, very impressed. My only piece of constructive feedback was that access to WiFi would have been great. We did receive the free WiFi pass code however the due to the location of the caravan were unable to gain access to Netflix, Amazon etc.

  • "Extremely clean, well-equipped and maintained accommodation in good location."

    However we were disappointed with the reliability of the wi-fi and BBC i-player etc access. Very intermittent which wqs confirmed by the owner and the site Reception. This should be stated in the listing description. Also when we booked towels were to be provided, however subsequently this was changed so we had to bring home our own wet towels. Not good!

  • "Caravan itself was very comfortable and clean."

    It was extremely disappointing though that there were no towels provided as advertised. We were booked as a four and only 1 flimsy beach towel between us!! Wifi was only available on front decking with a fair wind (usually 6-7am) There were instructions to put table/chair set away after every use so we didn’t use it. A more robust set would have solved this. We had a nice stay but these things tarnished the week a good deal.

Bay View is a lovely, single-storey lodge settled into the coast of Hillway, near Bembridge.

This holiday site offers sea views and a tranquil base for a family, friends, or a couple looking to explore the Isle of Wight.

Park off-road and be welcomed into an open-plan living space with tasteful furniture, beginning with a sitting area with patio doors drawing in natural light.

The kitchen houses ample amenities and is ideal for cooking up a storm, which can be enjoyed at the dining table.

Freshen up in the shower room before cosying up for the night in one of the two well-presented bedrooms, choosing between a double with an en-suite cloakroom, and a twin.

Outside, there are lovely sea views and a backdrop of mature trees, making this a simply delightful spot for dining alfresco.

Hillway is a lovely location with a nearby café, The Wonky Café, and a pub, The Nab Bar.

For more amenities, including a greater many eateries and a convenience store, head over to Bembridge, where there is also a lovely sandy beach and horse riding at Sally’s Stables.

At Sandown find the Dinosaur Isle museum, allowing guests to learn more about the Jurassic coast, as well as a golf club and another sandy beach.

The Isle of Wight AONB is a perfect location to bird watch, mountain bike and hike, and there is also the options of watersports at Ventnor, The Amazon World Zoo, Wildheart Animal Sanctury, and day trips to the bustling town of Newport.

Bembridge sits on the most eastern point of the Isle of Wight, and it is claimed to be the biggest village in England. Bembridge used to be an island in its own right, and until the Victorian era, was a collection of wooden huts and farmhouses, hence Bembridge remains somewhat detached from the rest of the island even today, which adds to its charm. Bembridge is considered to be one of the most upmarket areas on the island and offers a surprisingly busy intertidal sheltered harbour, which is always full of pleasure crafts and fishing boats providing a constant flow of traffic to and from The Solent. From the harbour you will find quiet beaches consisting of sand and pebbles, perfect for swimming, beachcombing and crabbing and in high winds you will see plenty of kite surfing activity. As you walk along Bembridge beach, you will discover the lifeboat station, cafes and the famous Crab & Lobster Inn, as well as the magnificent Culver Cliffs as your backdrop. The village centre offers a good range of small shops, with its award-winning butcher's and 'The Best Dressed Crab in Town' which is situated in Bembridge harbour, you can also sample local produce from the greengrocer's, visit the art gallery and much more; in fact everything you should need while holidaying here.
