  • "This property is very clean & comfortable throughout all mod cons & utensils are provided for."

    The house is easily excess able plus it's situated in a very quiet area. As a dog owner there is a big park about a five minute walk away. Town is a short walk away The Vines is nice pub to visit & there are numerous restaurants/takeaways available if required. Even though this property is at one end of the Island it only takes about 40 minutes (ish) to drive across to the other end of the Island. Overall we are glad that we found this property, we would book it again if we decide to visit the Island again in the future.

  • "Well presented 3 bed cottage,well equipped and comfortable."

    It has a fenced off area for pets. A short walk to the town centre and its supermarkets. Plenty of things to do, a short drive away and only ten minutes drive from Yarmouth ferry port.

  • "The cottage was very clean and perfect for the four of us and our little dog."

    The property had both a bathroom and shower room which was perfect. They location was ideal as it gave a short walk to the high street and to a Large Tesco. There were nearby fields to walk our dog. Also very easy to explore the Isle of Wight.

  • "Lovely cottage."

    Great location, easy walk to The Vine Inn & The Red Lion. You can also walk to Yarmouth on the old railway line, takes approx 1 hour but it’s flat. Would definitely recommend.

  • "We thought that the bathroom door should have closed fully and had a fastening, so others didn't have to hear everything."

    The couches were uncomfortable, there was no other easy chair. The house only slept 6 because there were twin beds on a room that was too small for them, there wasn't room for anything else, no bedside table, or light you could read by in bed.

    Sorry that bathroom door has stuck, the joys of an old cottage. If you had had pushed the catch it would have released and worked again. The listing is clear as up to 4 adults and 2 children. There are bedside lamps in all 3 rooms, not sure I understand your comment. The photographs are very clear and show what is in each of the rooms. Property Owner

  • "Beautifully refurbished cottage, super location for visiting West Wight and further afield."

    Unfortunately this visit wasn't for pleasure but the comfort and facilities of the cottage made our stay easier. Lovely comfortable bed in master room, plenty of hot water throughout the day, a lovely, cosy cottage within easy walking distance to shops, cafes. Would have no hesitation in recommending.

  • "A lovely cottage, beautifully renovated."

    Great location and walking distance to Freshwater Bay and Freshwater village. Parking on site was useful and enclosed garden for dog. Kitchen was stocked sufficiently to enable meals to be prepared, perhaps a couple of Pyrex dishes would be useful. We didn’t feel that the heating downstairs was sufficient for us at times but it didn’t spoil our enjoyment and we would book again.

Yarmouth 3 miles; Cowes 16 miles; Fishbourne 16 miles; Ryde 18 miles.

Freshwater is situated at the western tip of the Isle of Wight and consists of Freshwater Village and Freshwater Bay. Freshwater village offers a good selection of small independent shops, cafes and the West Wight Sports Centre and Indoor Swimming Pool. The magnificent high chalk cliffs, rolling downs and delightful beaches at Freshwater Bay and nearby Compton Bay attract many visitors and surfers all year round. The renowned Freshwater Bay Golf Club, which overlooks the English Channel has stunning coastal sea views from most tees and offers a superb day out for golfers of all abilities, whilst the area is a haven for birdwatchers, cyclists and walkers with many wonderful walks to be enjoyed not only on West Wight but across the entire Isle of Wight criss-crossing over a much varied island landscape. Locally, Afton Down (the location of the famous 1970 Isle of Wight Music Festival), and Tennyson Down are the most popular walks. At the foot of Tennyson Down is the Dimbola Museum and Photographic Galleries. The Needles Pleasure Park at Alum Bay with its coloured sand cliffs and chairlift to the beach is just south west of Freshwater, plus a little further afield on the north coast of the Isle of Wight is the premier yachting centre of Cowes. Osborne House (the former home of Queen Victoria) is located at East Cowes. The nearby Farringford Hotel on the edge of Freshwater Bay was once the home of the British Poet Laureate, Alfred Lord Tennyson, and many notable poets, authors and painters have been attracted to the area of West Wight over the years. With the seaside town of Yarmouth close by with its busy harbour and pier, shops, inns, eateries and impressive Tudor castle, this is an ideal base for an enjoyable holiday.
