Guildford Farmhouse is a charming Georgian period property situated near Havenstreet, Isle of Wight.

With off-road parking for three cars, this delightful retreat is perfect for families or friends seeking a serene escape, offering a welcoming base to explore the island's picturesque surroundings.

This period property enjoys a wealth of wood beams and inglenook fireplaces (decorative only).

The spacious open-plan area boasts a Woodburning stove and a Smart TV, perfect for warm nights in, while the dining area, complete with seating and a breakfast bar, provides a sociable space for meals.

The kitchen is well equipped with an electric double oven and hob with an additional AGA oven (used in Winter months only).

Character house with traditional features with an extension providing all mod cons.

Spacious accommodation in a peaceful, rural setting. Welcome pack of wine, milk and tea and coffee was much appreciated. Owner responded quickly to any queries we had. An enjoyable break.

Good size house with lots of room.

It was clean, tidy and with all that is needed to self cater or eat out, however, the kitchen could really a peeler. The outside space is good size room enough to play croquet. Located in a lovely area near to the steam train station although finding the Farmhouse is tricky.

Many thanks Janet for your positive feedback. I’m sorry there wasn’t a peeler, there was, but I’ll replace it. We do have Guildford Farm signs on both sides of the white picket fence entry to the drive but the Sat Nav sends people completely wrong! If you have any recommendations for where to eat out please let us know. We don’t eat out often, so difficult to recommend as places change. Best wishes Ann

It would have been nice to know about so many low beams and doorframes.

Some of the bedrooms were very cold in contrast to other rooms which were very hot. No cupboard storage in the kitchen for our food supplies. Unfortunately very uncomfortable sofas in the kitchen extension.

Hi Geraldine Thank you for your feedback. Because the property sleeps 8! We need to provide lots of crockery etc in the kitchen. However there is one cupboard shelf below microwave and a walk in larder just off the the kitchen with shelves galore and floor space. There is also a completely empty Welsh dresser where the freezer is in the lobby. Ideal for large party provisions. Re low beans your husband did mention this we chatted but the only lowish beam I can think of was as you come down the back stairs and if you are very tall one in the kitchen both are very visible but I will add a notice “duck” in the future. Re bedrooms too hot or cold, weather is unpredictable and we have asked guests to bring fans as we were unable to purchase more this summer. I’m sure this has now eased. Each room has one or more windows to open and there are spare duvets upstairs for those who feel the cold or central heating. Finally sorry you felt the corner sofa was uncomfortable, it’s usually where guests sprawl out with lots of cushions. I hope you found the other three sofas more to your taste. Summer 2026 Update: The property owner has been trying to source fans for the property for guests' comfort during the heatwave, however there is a shortage of fans on the island and no expected deliveries. It is recommended that you bring your own fans if you wish to be more comfortable.
For any bookings in the Christmas and New Year weeks (20th December 2026 - 6th January 2027) this property will feature: £25 hamper, Christmas Decorations and a Christmas Tree, Log burner, aga and decorated inglenook fireplaces.
Note: There are two staircases at this property which are not compatible with stairgates.
Please note: Social gatherings, parties, hen and stag dos are not permitted, and over-occupancy will be terminated immediately. Please note: Guests are kindly asked to keep noise to a minimum after 11 pm, as we have other holiday accommodation and neighbours nearby.
