We had a lovely stay, really liked the place.

Comfortable bedrooms and living room. There were a few things that would make it even better. The kitchen needs a couple of extra things - for example more than 4 bowls and chairs (especially as it's meant to sleep 5). Oven glove would have been really handy too. Table outside is falling apart, and really needs sorting.

We had a very pleasant stay at M5.

It was a home from home and exactly what we needed it to be for our family of 4. We were worried after seeing a negative review but there was no need to be at all. A number of pleasant positives included: a good number of towels provided, velux windows for great upstairs ventilation, a good size bathroom with bath/shower, downstairs toilet, decking area and seating, overall accomodation a good size, loads of kids/board games provided, tons of wardrobe space, lots of kitchen utensils and cookware, Jon booked our ferry for us and was excellent at communicating and was very helpful, the estate itself felt tucked away and peaceful (aside from the building works starting at 7am!) but it's not like a haven park etc, it's much more private and calm. There were a few areas we thought could be improved upon: providing hooks of the backs of doors for towels etc, the blind in the twin room has next to no effect on blocking light, double bed & it's duvet feel worn out, the bathroom tile grout is cracking and coming away so it was scratchy/ bordering unsafe on your feet. Also, the provision of an appropriate amount of toilet roll/toiletries for the whole stay (2 rolls for a week were provided) - the latter not as important. We were really pleased with the stay overall, my own home isn't perfection so I don't expect perfection elsewhere. There are some little signs of wear around the house but it makes no difference towards having a lovely stay. The listing says no travel cot but there is one just for anyone's information.

This place was a let‑down, and we don’t often complain.

We found cockroaches in the laundry room, even inside the washing machine, which is the last thing you want on a family holiday with two little ones. The place wasn’t exactly clean to begin with, but that was the final straw. The surfaces (touch points) left wipes black on arrival and we were shoes as the floors were filthy. Mind you the bathrooms were clean. When we reported it, the response was pretty poor. The housekeeping team acted like we should’ve contacted them earlier, even though the cockroaches only showed up on day four. And Sykes were basically no help at all. Slow replies, no real ownership, and they closed the case even after we said we were trying to escalate due to the nature of cockroaches being found. Wouldn’t stay again, and wouldn’t book through Sykes after this, a truly poor service from Sykes and the owner of the property. For reference we received a 10% refund for this massive inconvenience and health and safety risk. Oh and I have pictures, but it doesn’t have a box to attach… I wonder why.
