Fantastic stay at May Cottage.

Décor and facilities to a very high standard. Plenty of towels and lovely bedding provided. TV in every room so there were no family arguments about watching the world cup or Love Island! Bonus was off street parking and short walk to Shanklin Chine. Easy access to local shops. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at May Cottage!

Everything we needed was provided, and we were very comfortable as a family with a young child and a dog. The owner really has thought of everything. ​The enclosed yard was perfect for our dog to use safely, and the cottage is situated very close to a park where he could enjoy an off-lead run. ​The location is fantastic! It's a quiet spot, so our 3-year-old son wasn't disturbed at night, yet it's incredibly close to the old village and high street shops and restaurants. It is also just a short walk from the beach and Pirate's Cove adventure park. We can't wait to stay again and are already planning it! Thank you for a great stay.

It's very well equipped and the quiet location is excellent, close to the old village's restaurants and pubs and a convenience store at the bottom of the road. The car parking space is also very useful. An excellent choice for a relaxing holiday.

A perfect cottage May Cottage was really wonderful.

We stay in a lot of properties (we are a mature couple) with our dog and May Cottage was one of the best. Everything was thought of - including a lovely high quality welcome pack (bread, milk, butter, biscuits, teas and coffees) and lovely doggie treat with pet bowl, blanket and towel. One of the reasons I booked the cottage was the Sky Sports (my husband is convalescing from major surgery and his is an avid Sports fan so this was the perfect icing on the cake). The other reasons were the fantastic location - great for my walks and perfect distance from pubs and the bus stops (we travelled as foot passengers). We would love to stay again and I highly recommend. The property was also spotlessly clean and the king size bed was very comfy.

Lovely week spent at this property, the parking space was fantastic especially being able to leave the car and walk into Shanklin or to the beach.

The enclosed patio area was very well used by us during our stay. Very quiet area and a lovely little dog walk was close by. Property was very welcoming, clean, tidy and the Welcome pack was a really nice touch. Would highly recommend and would love to stay here again.

Nice little cottage in a great location.

The only gripes being comfort of the beds - very cheap mattresses, and the couches were not comfortable at all. The cottage was clean, but there were areas behind the beds, couches and bathroom shower that could use attention. If the beds were more comfortable, we’d come back again.

What a smashing cottage,everything you needed,a lot of it top end stuff.

Bonus with parking.Only slight grizzle,we found tv a bit too big in living room with how sofas were placed also bed was uncomfortable for me pesonally,but it doesn't detract the fact we had a great time in a great cottage,the milk,bikkies and bread were a nice touch and the array of tea bags..

This was our 3rd holiday at May Cottage and our 4th is already booked for next year.

It's almost impossible to fault this property for the location, the furnishings and contents. It's a real home from home for us and we strongly recommend it.

May cottage is just a stones throw away from Shanklin old village.

It is ideally situated and has everything anyone would need for a short stay. This is our second stay in as many years and we had a lovely time. Would recommend.

This an excellently appointed cottage, with everything provide for comfort and convenience.

It is in a quiet area, but very close..to the town centre. We would stay again.

May Cottage is the perfect location to holiday, quiet, tranquil but still within walking distance of all local amenities.

The quality and range of the facilities at the cottage are fantastic, the owner Jane has literally thought of everything. Great place to stay, well appointed little house.

It had everything we needed, we’ve stayed all over the IOW and this is the first property we said we would return to. Parking was a great attraction, as was EV charger but the house did not disappoint, well positioned for all our needs and for exploring the island again. The short walk into the village is well worth it.

Exceeded all expectations!

My wife and I have hired dozens of holiday cottages over recent years, (mainly through Sykes) and this one was right up there, on top of our satisfaction ratings. Okay, it doesn't boast stunning views, but it is set in a peaceful street, just a couple of minutes stroll from the charming and picturesque Shanklin Old Village, and just a stone's throw from a large park, which our dog loved. And the seafront/beach, cafés, restaurants and pubs are just a few minutes walk away. Now, about the cottage: firstly, it was one hundred percent spotless. Even if we were card-carrying members of the white glove brigade, we could not have found a speck of dust - absolutely immaculate. Secondly, it is clear that the owners possess a rare spirit of generosity, seen throughout the cottage. It is so well equipped and beautifully styled. When equipping the cottage, they have thought carefully about what their guests will appreciate in the place they have chose for their home away from home. Quality runs throughout the home; high-end televisions, Sky, Netflix and great wi-fi connection; furniture thoughtfully chosen to fit with their simple and restful interior design; all the kitchen equipment you could reasonably hope for - and no worn out old tat anywhere. The easy-to-use EV charging point was another example of the owners desire to get ahead of the curve. As it happens, there are a few public charging places in the area, but having a private facility with very reasonable charge costs was just the icing on the cake. In our view, this cottage is exceptional and we happily recommend it. And if you want a couple of fabulous places to visit, our top tips would be Steep Hill Cove (a visit to the Beach Shack and/or The Crap Shack is a must); and Ventnor Botanic Gardens - world class!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in May Cottage.

Very clean and well presented. Off road parking was a bonus and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. Owing to the age of the property and the time of yer we stayed we did find that it was pretty chilly in the morning and when we got in from a day out. The heating was effective but slow to heat the property so that it was comfortable to sit and relax in. As the property was in a town and semi detached we were aware of a certain amount of noise from the neighbours.

Had a nice stay, no complaints

May Cottage was a delight.

Although there is no back garden the large green area nearby was enjoyed by our dogs. The new owners of the property have certainly kept up the 5 star feel of the property. The stairs are steep but the downstairs bathroom together with an upstairs toilet made it easier for us. We are in our seventies.

Great little cottage in a quiet area, near shops and pubs and nice walks along the sea front, everything has been thought out well with little extras to make your stay a good one.
