For families with young children there is a purposefully designed sitting room/children’s playroom to allow young ones their own space and allow the adults quiet-time to take in the glorious late-afternoon/early evening sunshine.
Retreat upstairs to wash away the day in a sleek family bathroom or opt for a double bedroom benefitting from its very own en-suite shower room ahead of clambering into one of four neatly-presented double bedrooms.
If you can tear yourself away, begin your day in the stunning Colwell Bay with its sandy beaches or take the short walk along the picturesque coast to Totland Bay where you can admire the magnificent views out over the Solent and towards the Needles.
The Needles Landmark Attraction and the coloured sands of Alum Bay are only a short drive or healthy walk away; there you will find entertainment for all ages from the chair lift from Alum Bay beach and it’s famous-coloured sands, The New Battery Museum at the Needles and it’s look-out to The Needles Lighthouse.
You can get the Island bus service back to Colwell or continue the walk from the Needles up onto Tennyson’s Downs, taking in the glorious views of the Channel from the Poet Laureate’s monument before enjoying the gentle decline into Freshwater Bay.
From Altair’s doorstep, venture back to Colwell Bay for the iconic The Hut restaurant or along to Totland Bay for The Waterfront restaurant.
Or the short walk to the centre of Freshwater Town to find several convenience stores, restaurants, and pubs where you can stock up on the essentials or treat your loved ones to some hearty fare.
