Stable Cottage

It was cosy and in a good location and had everything we needed.

The only niggle was that the French doors opened onto the car park and other people had dogs running about so it often felt a bit obtrusive on our peace. It probably wouldn't have been an issue if the temperature was cooler.

Very comfortable beds and there was everything we needed in the kitchen. Friendly helpful owner and a relaxing atmosphere.

Ideally positioned to visit all the major attractions on the Island Stable Cottage is probably the most comfortable holiday home we have stayed in and in a great location too.

Very spacious rooms, clean, well maintained and comfortable with everything we needed. For those with mobility issues take note (in the photo's) of the split level steps between the lounge and kitchen and the rather awkward steps up to the main entrance. Great to be able to park right outside the property.

Decent sized bedrooms kitchen and lounge very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be going back at some point

Stable Cottage was a lovely place to stay.

It was beautifully maintained and everything was as we had expected. It was well positioned on the island to visit many different places and there were a wide range of facilities close by. Having access to the grounds made walking the dog a pleasure and very straight forward. We would definitely visit again.

All locations easily accessible. Cottage spacious and comfy and owners on hand at all times to sort out any issues and help out on advice on the best places to visit etc on the Island

Stable Cottage provided the most wonderful retreat for a few days visiting friends.

Super comfy beds, a well equipped airy kitchen and spotlessly clean bathroom with piping hot water. James was a wonderful host and the setting is magical with long dog walks straight out the front door!

Pro's - good location for all parts of IoW.

Good for walks from the property. Well equipped but needs a bin & towel in the downstarirs toilet. Slotted spoon in kitchen would be useful addition. Con's - Not very well cleaned, sticky klitchen floor, cobwebs in bedroom, dog hair and I say again, dog hair (we think someone allowed their dog to sleep on the blanket on the bed in the single bedroom. Water pressure is lowest I have ever seen in a domestic property (the head is just insuffiicient) and so bath was unuseable, which is why it looks brand new! Thank goodness the shower worked well. Bulbs out in sitting room and master bedroom. Warn visitors that fridge and freezer look identical - left is freezer, right is fridge - we didn't spot it. I would not recommend this property for children - traffic through courtyard is too fast and outside space is out of sight and during open times open to public - so children must be supervised all the time. We were told that the electricity board would be changing meter during our stay (we don't know if it happened or not), that's life but I did not appreciate the suggestion that it was our fault for booking Sunday to Sunday, for which we paid nearly double the rent. Overall - a well appointed property but with shortcomings. No excuse for the dog hairs - too many to be dismissed.
