  • "We really enjoyed our stay and were impressed with the accommodation and property location."

It was very spacious and light and we had everything we needed :) We really appreciated the quiet location and never having to worry about finding a parking space; and the shaded garden was wonderful as well as really helpful for our dog. There were a few minor points that could easily be remedied going forward to further improve this lovely property. I understand the property had only recently been starting to being rented, but it would have been helpful to have a book with information (e.g. emergency contact for the owner and hospital/GPs and vets as well as info e.g. how to use the cooker) to make it easy to settle into the property. Additionally to check that all the cutlery is clean and there is adequate loo roll available on arrival! As we will have very hot summers in the future, it would also be helpful to have fans and the ability to open the windows on the top floor so its more comfortable. Because of these points I gave it a 4 star. In spite of these minor points, we really loved staying in this property and would certainly come back again :)

YARMOUTH

Newport 12 miles; Ryde 18 miles.

The attractive seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight, and its busy harbour is a haven for all kinds of watercraft, with the terminal used for regular mainland ferry crossings to Lymington. Yarmouth’s narrow streets are home to an attractive array of shops and inns, whilst a visit to Henry VIII’s castle is not to be missed. There's great cycling (and a cycle hire shop) and walking to be had along the coastal path. Why not take an energetic stroll at the nearby Tennyson Down and Headon Warren. Sandhard beach is 15 minutes' walk away, with Colwell Bay with its sandy beach and amenities for the family 7 minutes away by car. Yarmouth's pier and sailing club jetty is another good spot for crabbing. Four miles away is Compton Bay, famous for dinosaur remains; head there at low tide and see if you can find the two enormous three-toed feet. West Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Yarmouth is an ideal base from which to explore this wonderful island.
