The Hayloft

We had a lovely stay at the Hayloft.

The accommodation was fantastic and the hosts next door were very friendly and welcoming. Would thoroughly recommend it.

We knew we would enjoy our stay when the property owners called in to welcome us on arrival.

Such a nice gesture and lovely people. The property is delightful. Extremely well appointed with plenty of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils (very useful as, being "away from it all", we ate there most days). The beds are very comfortable and there are three showers with hot water aplenty. Equally, we were able to keep relatively cool by opening all the windows and doors so there was plenty of air-flow. The patio was especially welcome for morning coffee and afternoon g&t. It is ideally located for visiting the attractions of east Kent. Chatham Historic Dockyard and Hythe were the furthest we travelled and even then less than 1 hour's drive. Canterbury is very quick and easy to reach courtesy of the Sturry Road Park & Ride. All-in-all an excellent property which we would have no hesitation in booking again on any future visit to east Kent.

We were four adults and one child who is a full time wheelchair user.

The Hayloft was perfect for our two week stay. The owners Richard and Lindsay are lovely and stop by for a chat making sure we had everything we needed. The house is wheelchair accessible and the bedroom downstairs was perfect. The shower room is a walk in shower the gap between the glass shower screen and door did not allow us to use the wee ones toilet/shower chair but we bought a small paddling pool to use within the enclosure which my grandson thought was great. There are plenty of places nearby to visit all within a short distance so not too much driving to get anywhere. Would definitely recommend The Hayloft in Chislet for anyone wishing to visit the area. You will not be disappointed.

A beautiful & spacious property with all the modern amenities which we & the children very much enjoyed.

Well located to visit all the surrounding areas including Canterbury, Whitsable, Herne Bay, Margate, Broadstairs, Botany Bay Beach & Deal village.

Fabulous, great location near coast and countryside & lovely property.

Was so convenient it had the electric charger available to use too. Great days out to Dover Castle, Broadstairs, Canterbury, Whitstable, Sandwich & Ramsgate. Lovely restaurants nearby.

Spotless, everything you could want for your holiday was there. Also a lovley touch of Christmas decorations making us feel festive even if the weather was not ( very mild one day it was 17degrees!!). Comfy spacious bedrooms. Richard and Lindsey very welcoming owners. Would definitely recommed the Hayloft.

The Hayloft is a charming property which has been well decorated.

It was ideal for our family of Grandparents, Parents and Grandchildren. There was plenty of space for everyone. The property has everything you require and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. The owners were extremely pleasant and made us feel very welcome. We would not hesitate to recommend.

Hi all Just got back from the hayloft and we had a lovely stay.

Weather was brilliant all week so travelled round to many places of interest. The barn conversion was beautiful and very comfortable and fully stocked with accessories. Thanku to our hosts for their help and taking on board our feedback.yours paul sharon Sue and rob

The Hayloft was chosen as a venue for its assess ability and it fulfilled our needs completely.

It was lovely to see our wheelchair user whizzing round and having complete independence.

Without doubt this was the best cottage we’ve stayed in.

Everything was first class. The owners were ever so friendly and did everything they could to make our holiday so memorable

Maybe the only thing that we would recommend is for really hot days and fan would be really welcome

The Hayloft was spotless on arrival , spacious, very well equipped to a high standard - everything you could possibly need was at hand. Beds were comfortable and even the rain didn't dampen our fun. The Hayloft is a lovely thatched barn- traditional, spacious, well equipped and comfortable.

Plenty of beaches for the grandkids and nice eateries with easy distance. Robert and Lindsey were super helpful.

Quite simply the best property we have stayed in.

The owners are very friendly and helpful and the cottage is immaculate and well heated in the cold weather. Highly recommended and exactly in line with the property details.

We are a family of 5.

We stayed at the property during February half term (for us in Wales). The property, itself, is an impressive building. The owners have decorated it beautifully and it was spotlessly clean. There was everything we needed and more. Things like a clothes airer and buckets and spades for the children, were used, but not expected. There was so much to do in the area that suited each of our children, 9, 8 and 4. We visited the Kent and Sussex Railway. We had an amazing day at Howletts, a local zoo. We visited The Historical Docks at Chatham, where you can board a submarine and two battle ships. There is a Ropery there where you can see how rope is still made there today. From March 2025 they will have Lego Shipwrecks on display too. We visited a local playground , which had lots of lovely apparatus. All in all, the property and surrounding area was perfect for our family holiday!

The Hayloft exceeded our expectations, the first class holiday home we found was warm and welcoming.

Our hosts were on hand ( but not intrusive) who recommended places of interest and locations to visit in the area. Overall we feel you could not do better, if you wish to visit this area. Many thanks to our hosts at this amazing property.

The owners were friendly and had kindly decorated the house for Christmas. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms, ample off street parking and easy to find. I would recommend this place to any of my friends and family who want to stay in this area.

Just back from a super stay at this high quality property where it was so easy to immediately relax and settle in.

All of us fell in love with our new home-from-home and did not want to leave. I had occasion to visit The Hayloft during my time as a Visit England assessor 6 years ago when the owners attained the prestigious Rose Award, and I vowed to return as a guest. After I left VE, The Hayloft always remained in my memory and it was a pleasure to finally return with friends, secure in the knowledge that we would be experiencing beautifully-appointed accommodation with exceptional standards of cleanliness. The kind hosts are ready to help and advise, without being intrusive, happy to give recommendations for dining venues and local information. Our highlights were the excellent facilities and amenities - they have thought of everything visitors could possibly need - and the magic of the wood burner which we tended while enjoying chat, drinks and laughter in the lounge. We loved The Hayloft and can't wait until our next visit.

The property is in a quiet location but very easy access to popular locations to visit.

The owners are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. If a member of the party has a mobility problem there is easy access to the house and a level ground floor including bedroom and en suite bathroom with shower, which has a rail and a chair available.The patio is also on the same level. There is plenty of seating and crockery etc. it is a well equipped cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the it here. Maureen

The property is absolutely beautiful, in a fantastic location and the cleanest and best equipped accommodation we have ever stayed in. We were 5 adults and there was ample space for everyone to have their own space, and the outside seating and garden were absolutely perfect for us to enjoy a drink in the sunshine, and a game of cards after a busy day sightseeing. The recommendations from Richard and Lindsay, of places to visit and restaurants to eat in was very much appreciated and contributed to an extremely enjoyable holiday. We would love to return and would recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in a beautiful, clean, well furnished and equipped accommodation, accessible to so many areas of Kent. Lovely thatched picturesque and spacious holiday cottage - we all enjoyed staying here!

Interesting property in that you can go out onto the balcony from the main bedroom and walk out round the side to the front of the house! We really had everything we needed and more in the kitchen; the beds were very comfortable and the outdoor space with decking and flowers was pleasant to sit out in. We would certainly come back here!

The best holiday let we have stayed in.

The attention to detail in design and TLC taken by the hosts made for a faultless stay. Such lovely owners who have catered for every need. Immaculate and thoughtful sets a standard that others should follow.

The Hayloft is a lovely property and was an ideal location for my 3 friends and I to play on the wonderful golf courses close by.

The cottage was more than good, it was brilliant.

We booked for 3 days and wished it had been a week. Our hosts Lyndsay and Richard were friendly and a great help with local information. One small downside was that the two twin beds in one of the double bedrooms, which were required as a double were not fixed together, so proved a bit awkward.

Absolutely wonderful stay, beautiful home, great area and the perfect hosts.

Will definitely return when next in the area.

The Hayloft is probably the cleanest cottage I have stayed in and well equipped. Owners were very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay again if revisiting the area.

Richard and Lindsey were really welcoming and greeted us on the first day to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We were looking for a really relaxing get away so stayed in every night by the fire. The only issue we had was that the sofa was a little uncomfortable because we could feel the springs. The kitchen was perfect and I really enjoyed cooking in it every day. The master bedroom had twin beds pushed together which made it a little awkward to sleep in as a couple, however as there was only 2 of us, we slept in one of the upstairs bedroom which had a double bed, which was super comfortable. I would love to book again, however as me and partner enjoy cosy nights in by the fire, so the sofa would be an issue for us unfortunately. Other than that, everything was great. Thank you for a lovely stay!
