What guests are saying
The building is quite disheveled, on arrival there was a lot of noise.
Throughout the stay there were varying degrees of smell/mess both to the front of the building and in communal areas including dog urine in the lift. The flat was pleasant but not to expected standard. The master bed was extremely comfortable, which was the saving grace. The fans provided were not overly effective as the flat has full sun all day. The blinds are not black out and fid little to improve the temperature. The windows barely open and were very dirty, especially the inside of the frame on opening the windows. The blind cords felt greasy and unpleasant to touch. The sofas may look nice in the pictures but they were extremely uncomfortable, the green one had lots of staining and the pink one had dips in the seat. There were some leaflets and a “flat guide” which were dirty, stained and felt disgusting. The guide was out of date, it mentioned things which were no longer provided (shower gel/shampoo/conditioner). The kitchen tiles are still broken despite a comment saying they had been repaired in response to a previous comment. Most equipment was broken (bottle opener, peeler in particular). Mugs are tiny and need more to allow for washing up, same for glasses - only 2 pint glasses/tumblers. No bin bags. No instructions for recycling or separate recycling bin. No coffee machine/equipment. Food in cupboard appeared old! When we zipped twin beds together (not done on arrival) there were socks, toys and lots of dust/rubbish under the bed nearest door. There were dry plowers everywhere in lounge which were very dusty and accessible to dogs. Usually use a different rental platform and have never had problems. They usually provide dog bowls and leave a dog/human welcome treat but not the case here. Two sets of keys should be provided as sometimes we needed to do different things (shop and walk dog). Lots of things which we overlooked but which could hugely improve the overall experience.
Had a wonderful short break at Walpole bay, location was perfect for our needs , right by the sea and a short walk to the beach and wonderful restaurants and bars of Margate.
Would definitely book again .
A lovely two bed apartment with sea views in Cliftonville, walking distance from Margate.
We had a relaxing stay, with another couple and our dog. The property needs a little bit of maintenance ( loose floor tiles in the kitchen), and could do with some replacement crockery, the small plates were all chipped. But otherwise highly recommended for a seaside break
