Spindlewood cottage has all you need for a great holiday - cosy, comfortable, clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need.

There are many and various things to do in the area, something for everyone. The hosts Sharon and Clive are most helpful and welcoming. Definitely one to revisit, we will be back!

The cottage was the nicest we have stayed in and we have been to many over the years.

everything was to a very high standard. The beds were so comfortable we slept all night most unusual for us the only sounds we heard was an owl hooting and the dawn chorus.The welcome pack was lovely. Our host Sharon welcomed us on our arrival and both were there when we left. Would we visit again Yes definitely.

A wonderfull place to stay.

Almost everything was available in the cottage. Breakfast in the patio, after dinner in the garden. Quiet surrounding, easy walks and only five minutes by car to shops and pub. And last but not least a perfect host.

A return visit to this lovely cottage and we were not disappointed.

The fixtures, fittings and cleanliness of Spindlewood is first class and we had everything we needed. Our hosts, Sharon and Clive, welcomed us on arrival and as they live next door were always willing to stop for a chat. The welcome pack is superb which included bread from a nearby bakery, butter, milk and a home made cake. We visited plenty of interesting places including NT properties, gardens and towns all nearby. Our Sunday meal at the nearby Eight Bells PH was superb. We have already booked a return visit for next year. Thank you Sharon and Clive for a lovely stay.

The accommodation has everything you need for your stay and it's a great place to relax and visit with lots to see and do in the area. The owners were welcoming and helpful and we will definitely return for a second stay.

This was our third visit to Spindlewood Cottage, because the property is always welcoming and provides comfortable, relaxing accommodation, with every amenity.

Set in lovely gardens, the cottage is quiet, yet local services are close to hand.

Our second stay at this gem of a cottage in a quiet location but close to local amenities & all that this area of Kent has to offer.

The cottage is one of the best we have ever stayed in, spotlessly clean, comfortable, well equipped, ample parking, the cottage is obviously well cared for & loved by the owners. Sharon & Clive are the perfect hosts, next door, if required but not intrusive & their beautiful garden is yours to admire. We hope to return again when visiting this area.

The cottage had everything we needed, especially the kitchen.

It was comfy & cosy. Our host was lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. There are many places to visit nearby with lots of information provided in the cottage. The Eight Bells for lunch is definitely worth a visit as was Eggs to Apples; many & varied produce as well as a lovely cafe.

This is an absolutely stunning, beautiful, cosy, and very homely cottage.

It is the second time me and my family have stayed there and everyone absolutely loves it. It also has a very big garden and if you walk to the end you may be able to catch the horses grazing in the next field. Everything in the cottage has been thought of and is immaculate. Sharon and her partner are also very lovely people. They remembered us from the previous year and was very kind and welcoming to my 7 year old daughter, who was also very happy to see them. They also left out a very nice welcoming hamper when we arrived. We made some wonderful memories there and I cant recommend it highly enough.

We had a blissful weekend away in this pretty cottage.

It was cozy and comfortable. Incredibly clean and stocked with everything we needed. Situated along a quiet, peaceful lane, within walking distance of beautiful walks and a fantastic village pub. Couldn’t recommend enough.

The cottage is warm and homely with friendly welcoming hosts which makes for a relaxing stay.

The "welcome" pack of essentials is a lovely touch and was really appreciated on our arrival and . It is great location to use as a base, which allowed us to visit both coastline and more inland areas including various National Trust properties, with a relatively short drive. I can imagine in the summer the balcony and rear garden views would be a treat.

Incredible cottage, certainly one of the best we've stayed at.

Everything you could possibly need and finished to a very high standard. It's also clear the owners (who were lovely) have really thought about the practicalities (e.g., cupboard space, cushions, blankets etc) to make staying there a pleasure. Lots of great attractions in the local area, especially if you like gardens/history/stately homes. Can't think of a bad thing to say about it!

We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the last ten years, including one that had won a Sykes Silver Award; however, this one outshines them all.

Well equipped without being cluttered and a first for us; an empty pull-out larder cupboard to place our own food stuffs etc. So often every single kitchen cupboard is already full, leaving nowhere to place your own items. Well maintained and spotlessly clean with everything you would need. There has obviously been a lot of thought put into this property by the hosts Sharon and Clive, who were very friendly and helpful. Very central to many places of interest, from National Trust properties and gardens to many picturesque villages and towns in both Kent and East Sussex. Thank you, Sharon & Clive, for making our week stay most comfortable and enjoyable and the bouquet of flowers for our anniversary was a very thoughtful gesture.

This is an exceptionally well equipped property in a very tranquil setting.

The property is very comfortable and well maintained. The owner was very welcoming and responded promptly to any queries. I would recommend a stay at this property without hesitation.

This was our second visit, and the property provides exceptional comfort and facilities in a quiet location with attractive gardens.

There are several good local walks, including a vineyard, the nearby pub and moor, and the pinetum forestry park. It is a short drive to Rye, Tenterden, Battle and Bexhill, hence you do not have to venture far for a change of scene.

This is undoubtedly the best property we have stayed in.

It was really well furnished, equipped and clean. We found the location convenient for our trips to the numerous places of interest. The owners were most helpful and friendly and the cake, jam, milk and other things left for us on arrival were most appreciated!

Five-star accommodation and five-star hosts Spindlewood Cottage is clean and comfortable, providing all the equipment and facilities anyone could need.

Clive and Sharon are friendly, very helpful and receptive to all general enquiries. We appreciated the Welcome Pack of locally-produced, basic provisions – Sharon even went to the trouble of providing some gluten-free food products for our dietary requirements! We're not likely to return to this area of Kent but support all the other favourable reviews and Spindlewood is highly-recommended for other visitors and Sykes Cottages customers.

Wow, what a fantastic holiday cottage.

Our stay in this beautifully appointed cottage was a joy. We were greeted on our arrival by Sharon the owner. On entering the cottage everything was clean and tidy as you would expect. Our welcome food was all locally sourced and top quality. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you could possibly need as were the bedrooms and bathroom. Everything spoke of quality. The cottage on a quiet country lane was well situated for exploring this area of Kent and was close to the East Sussex border. Within a short drive there are many National Trust properties and Great Dixter house and garden which was exceptional. Thank you Sharon and Clive for making us so welcome. I am sure that I will return.

The cottage is situated next to the owners house in a quiet peaceful spot.

The cottage is beautifully presented immaculately clean and fitted out with everything you could need including extremely comfortable beds. The kitchen was a joy to cook in and the owners provided milk, bread, cake , and crisps which was very thoughtful. There are many places to visit nearby including many National Trust properties these included Sissinghurst, Bodium, Scotney Castle, and Chartwell. The coast and the South Downs are all within striking distance. We would highly recommend Spindlewood cottage as a place to stay.

A lovely cottage on a quiet country lane but close to the centre of Hawkhurst.

The owners Sharon and Clive, were lovely hosts and welcoming and were available should we needed anything. They left a lovely welcome pack of local milk, butter and bread as well as a delicious homemade lemon drizzle cake. The cottage was very clean and tidy and well maintained. The kitchen is very well equipped and had everything we needed. There is a lovely patio and a view across to the field where horses could be seen. We had full access to the extensive garden. There are many lovely places to visit nearby and there were leaflets about all of them in the cottage. We can recommend the nearby Eight Bells Pub for Sunday lunch or a drink, it being a short walk away. A lovely holiday made even better by the stay in this cottage. We intend to return. Our hosts, Clive and Sharon, were very friendly. Sharon seemed to have thought of everything we would need and left a welcome pack of milk, butter, marmalade and cake, which was lovely. The cottage is situated in a beautiful village, which is ideal for exploring the local area any many NT and other beautiful garden close by the enjoy.

Spindlewood cottage is an excellent place to stay to explore Kent and Sussex.

It is immaculately clean and so well looked after. The area is quiet and picturesque. The owners, Sharon and Clive couldn’t be more helpful and welcoming and the welcome tray was superb. Every need was catered for. Hope to return in the future.

We were absolutely delighted with our choice of Spindlewood Cottage for our Christmas / New Year holiday with our two daughters.

Sharon and Clive were wonderful hosts, and really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome - from the various food and drink items waiting for us on arrival, to the help provided at a moment's notice (such as printing out lost Eurostar tickets). We felt as though they had paid attention to every minor detail in order to make our stay as comfortable as possible - truly a home from home - and we hope that we will have the opportunity to return to the cottage at some point in 2025!

It is in a lovely quiet landscaped setting, well equipped and most comfortable. The adjacent owners were very helpful and friendly and provided essential provisions in a welcome pack which was great for the first night. Ideally located for the numerous nearby National Trust and garden properties as well as attractive historic towns.

Spindlewood cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need.

The layout of the cottage is very nice and works very well for a family. We were really impressed that the owners had some lovely bread, jam and butter waiting for us on arrival and they also made us a lovely cake. They also put up a safety gate for our son which was a bonus and they had lots of games and toys in the property for our son - which goes above and beyond most properties. The only thing that wasn't great was the internet as it would regularly cut out. Otherwise a perfect stay.

Fabulous stay at Spindlewood - the cottage was immaculate with a very well equipped kitchen, & it was a lovely surprise to arrive to a bottle of local apple juice & a yummy home-made cake !

What a pleasure. We stayed at Spindlewood Cottage in Hawkhurst, Kent. A very warm welcome from our hosts awaited. Amazing cottage. Extremely clean 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 downstairs toilet, lounge, dining area and kitchen. All very comfortable in a beautiful location. Everything we could wish for. Ideal spot for us as National Trust Members. So many places to visit within a 20 minute drive from Spindlewood Cottage. Takeaway food plus many pleasant pubs in the village. We will definitely book a further stay in the future.
