  • "The View is a lovely place to stay."

The owners clearly go to a lot of trouble to create a warm and welcoming environment. It is a great base for visiting Faversham and the north Kent coast, also good access to the M2. We would highly recommend it and would happily stay again.

Thanks so much for your lovely feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us & look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Property Owner

About the location

FAVERSHAM

Chilham 7 miles; Whitstable 9 miles; Canterbury 9 miles.

Faversham is a thriving market town in the heart of Kent. With many interesting places to see and things to do, this lovely town offers visitors the chance to explore, shop, cycle, walk, swim, fish, or dine out and also boasts the oldest brewery in Britain dating back to 1698. It was due to the brewery that "hop picking" became the family holiday for many families living in London, right up until the 1950s. During the summer, thousands of people would descend on the fields around Faversham, put up their tents and spend the days "hop picking", thus making this one of the best places to enjoy a pint or two! Faversham is proud of its history and the town is even named in the Domesday Book and with its cobbled streets and medieval houses, tiny quaint pubs and many listed buildings, this town enjoys remembering its fascinating history. For those looking to experience the outdoor life, Faversham has more than enough to keep you entertained, why not take a swim in one of the all-year-round swimming pools? In the summer, Faversham offers three outdoor pools with diving boards, a paddling pool and white water rapids, you can even pack a picnic and make a day of it, there is plenty of grass around the pools for picnics and for children to play on. Around Faversham there are numerous walks, just pick up a leaflet from the tourist office and make your choice. If you fancy an evening at the cinema then the Royal is just the place to visit. Dating back to 1936 it still offers visitors a traditional experience with usherettes to guide you to your seat and popcorn and ice cream served during the interval. If visitors are looking to discover further afield then Canterbury, Rochester and Whitstable are all just a short drive away. For those who want to explore even further afield then why not sail away on a ferry or travel on the Channel Tunnel, either way you can be in France or Belgium in time for lunch and back in time for tea! This is a wonderful area and well worth exploring.
