Wren Cottage at Boyke Manor

We had a wonderful time at Wren cottage; the cottage is exactly as described with very friendly and helpful hosts.

It is an excellent location for tours in the Kent Downs and to the coast. The equipment was of high quality and everything was well maintained and very clean.

We had a wonderful stay at Sykes Cottage.

A beautiful barn conversion. We enjoyed learning about the history of the property. Great garden for children too. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and couldn’t have been more helpful.

A spacious, beautifully converted thatched barn, Wren Cottage is full of character and scrupulously clean.

Our hosts Paul and Linda were kind and helpful and their welcome pack included a homemade lemon drizzle cake to die for! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, visiting a range of must-sees in the area: Canterbury Cathedral, Ramsgate's WW2 Tunnels (a great way to spend a wet afternoon); the lovely Tudor village of Chilham and Ightham Mote - we felt spoiled for choice.

The owners have clearly thought of everything and the house was really well stocked with everything you might need! Lovely garden space our little boy loved exploring. Easy to find, lots of parking, helpful owners. Thank you!

Fabulous accommodation!

We holiday in the UK 2 or 3 times a year and this probably one of the best cottages we’ve stayed in. Beautiful barn conversion, done to a high spec. and very clean. We tend to eat in every night and the kitchen was incredibly well equipped with everything we needed. The owner greeted us on arrival and was friendly and helpful without being intrusive with a delicious home made lemon drizzle cake in the welcome pack. The garden was lovely although we didn’t get much chance to spend any time in it as we were out exploring all day, every day of our stay. Plenty of off road parking on the private drive. Would definitely recommend

This was a lovely place to stay near enough to supermarkets and places to visit, but also cozy enough for a quite night in.

The fact it has an open kitchen was great it meant we could cook meals together being inclusive and still part of conversations. Would book here again.

We had a fantastic Christmas here.

Both my son and husband are trained chefs and we had everything we needed in the kitchen for them to cook amazing meals. Plus i managed to do some baking with my granddaughter....loads of containers etc....we loved the welcome gift, thank you. We would love to return, the property was perfect for us

Being a barn conversion you need to watch your head in the bedrooms.

Sofas are of the sort found in many holiday let's so some people may find them a little uncomfortable. On a bus route between Canterbury and Folkestone. Owner helpful and responsive to issues

The accommodation was lovely and clean and had everything you needed for the stay.

It was a great base to travel out from.

The Elham Valley is one of the most beautiful areas in East Kent, and this cottage is perfectly located within it.

It manages to be spacious and cosy at the same time, and quiet despite the road alongside it. We had a relaxing week here in September, and would happily recommend it.

Everything is perfect. The house has everything you need and the garden is lovely. The kids enjoyed playing with the garden games. The house is a great base for exploring nearby attractions and countryside. We would definitely return again.

Met by our host and kindly talked through the amenities. Spotlessly clean, very well equipped kitchen and comfortable property for our home away from home for the week. Lovely large garden to sit in. If in the area again, would stay again.

Immaculately clean, very well equipped and full of character. Greeted on arrival by the friendly owner with a lovely welcome package. Thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful stay here which we used as a base to visit Hever Castle, Canterbury, Folkestone Harbour, Dover Castle & War Tunnels and even did a day trip to Dunkirk on the ferry! No hesitations in recommending this charming cottage, you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful accommodation. Very comfortable and clean. Well equipped with everything you need. Beautiful garden to sit and relax in. Plenty of places of interest to visit nearby.

Wren was the cleanest holiday cottage as well as one of the cosiest and quaintest I've ever been to.

Everything is well cared for, and we even found a pretty new frying pan with little to no scratches - very ununsual in our experience. The bottle of wine, biscuits and coffee were greatly appreciated! So: Thanks for everything!!!

Paul gave us a warm welcome and was there waiting when we arrived to show us round.

We were provided with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine which was all very welcome. Unlike many others properties we’ve stayed in we were provided with all household requirements right down to plastic containers and bag clips. Also enough cupboard space to store groceries. Beautiful cottage and garden and lovely owners.

Paul met us on arrival and gave us a very detailed run down of the property and local amenities, which was extremely helpful.

The complementary goodies where very much appreciated. Wren cottage was ver quirky with its natural structure, with beams that gave it a rustic charm. Being able to stop the bus right outside the property to Canterbury and Folkestone was such a bonus. It has a fabulous garden which we were able to enjoy a g&t whilst watching the birds and squirrels. Overall the cottage was more than adequate for our needs of 4 adults. Paul had a great sense of humour as there was much football banter going on (even though his team Crystal Palace lost to Everton ) If we ever choose to head to Kent again Wren cottage would definitely be our choice of accommodation

We enjoined to stay in the Wren house.

It was a luxery to have everything available what you needed in a holiday house. It was really complete stay with very good beds. The welcome gifts were appreciated. It is also good located to visit all the nice activities in the area, from beaches to Leeds Castle to Canterbury.

We have been to lots of places where we rented accomodation, but this year's booking surpassed everything.

We had a perfect stay at fantastic Wren Cottage. The owner's hospitality was outstanding, we found a wonderful welcome gift.The cottage is part of a beautiful building, it is perfectly equipped. It offers a very comfortable atmosphere.We often used the wonderful garden.

Excellent experience in a lovely well maintained cottage.

The owner was very friendly and helpful and we were not disturbed unnecessarily. When we need a place to stay in south Kent again it will be at the top of our list.

Everything about this property, the facilities, the welcome and the farewell was absolutely first class.

We felt immediately at home and were very impressed with the attention to detail in every aspect of this very comfortable cottage and we would have loved to have stayed longer on this visit as it is so convenient for visiting family in the area. This part of Kent has a lot of lovely places to visit as well as a good quantity of eateries to cover all tastes (!) and budgets. We will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay at this well presented comfortable cottage in a beautiful location with very attentive hosts & generous welcome pack.

Easy access to the coast & larger towns with a bus service at the bottom of the drive. Lovely walks to local villages with good pubs & local shops. Would definitely return for another stay.

Wren is the best-appointed self-catering cottage we've stayed in.

Every mod con we could have needed was provided, and the cottage was comfortable, warm and spacious - a fine restoration of the barn preserving the original beams. The owner is very helpful with tips on the best local pubs, shops and takeaways, and the location is well placed for visiting local attractions such as Dover Castle, the RH&DR, Port Lympne and Howletts. The hourly bus from Folkestone to Canterbury stops right outside the front gate. Highly recommended.

The property had everything. The design was great and the owners renovated the property to a very high standard. It is fully and thoughtfully equipped. The property had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended.

We spent our holiday at Wren Cottage last year and loved it so much that we returned. The cottage is immaculate, extremely comfortable and exceptionally well equipped. There is a lovely and large private garden at the back and the location is central for touring Kent. Amazing place.

Interesting renovation.

Lovely garden to sit in on occasion. Cottage was warm, clean and welcoming upon arrival. Minus points - busy road running alongside property - noisy, fast traffic. Felt somewhat dangerous turning right into the road from property lane. Beams upstairs 'head hazard'! Particularly the low beam in the bathroom by the toilet, where a sign perhaps ought to be fixed on wall opposite lavatory so that one can read it whilst sitting.....'Don't Lose Your Head'.
