We absolutely loved our stay at Bay Tor. A real home from home. So comfortable, clean, everything you need for your stay and the welcome gifts an appreciated bonus. Views across to France and boats lit up during the evening a wonderful sight. A super base to visit the area of Kent. We didn't want to leave and would definitely return. Mary and Bay Tor are a real tonic!

Mary is a fantastic host and her attention to detail and personal touches makes it a very ‘home from home’ stay. The photos don’t do Bay Tor justice, especially the view of the sea, we will definitely return. Thank you Mary.

Could not have expected anymore from this “home from home” apartment. Thank you, Mary, for the little extras - they were much appreciated. Ideally positioned as a base between Dover and Deal with excellent walks along the white cliffs. Hopefully, we will be back in the future.

Wi-fi is very poor, so will need mobile data. But overall well worth considering.

Bay Tor is a nice place to stay, spacious, clean and well maintained.

We found the owner was very helpful. Considering it is rated 5 star we were disappointed to find the fridge had no freezer (Icebox). The property would be enhanced with a black out blind or darker curtains in the bedroom. We enjoyed our one week stay.

We had a fantastic week at Bay Tor; it is a wonderful, well-equipped property with great coastal views.

It is ideally situated to explore the Kent Coast and our week was filled with castles, cathedrals and the spectacular coastal path. The property had everything we could have wished for; thank you Mary for the little extras you left for us, they were much appreciated.

We had a lovely holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bay Tor.

The flat has a good layout, it was clean and had great views. It was well equipped with everything you needed. We used St Margaret's at Cliffe as a base to explore Folkestone, Dover, Deal, Canterbury and Ramsgate. The weather was great for most of the week, which made all the difference and was a huge bonus. There was a very nice welcome pack from Mary, which was a lovely touch and much appreciated.

The apartment was very well equipped, with everything you could possibly need. Mary was very friendly and welcoming, and provided us with some ‘extras’ which were very much appreciated. We will definitely be visiting again in the near future. It was a shame the weather wasn’t better, but nevertheless we made the best of it. Sandra Brook

Even giving us a little gift, which was so nice of her. The apartment was beautiful, clean and had such a great view of the sea! It had everything we needed there and was so comfy. We absolutely loved our time here and would definitely come again. Thank you for a fabulous stay. We would highly recommend staying here!

I had a lovely week at Bay Tor, it is on the coastal path with wonderful walks to Deal & Dover. Lots of places to visit a short drive away, and a beautiful apartment to come back to every day. Just perfect!

A very clean well equipped property, excellent for self catering.

Greated by the owner who is friendly, helpful and does everything to make sure we had a comfortable stay. Comfortable lounge with DVDs / TV / board games/ books and magazines available. Newly refurbished bathroom. Newly refurbished kitchen. Well equipped,. Lovely view of the channel. Outdoor seating area. 4 miles from Dover. Perfect for touring the area, and all the history of the white cliffs, Castle etc. Hidden gem.

You are in for a real treat. There is no better place to stay in this part of Kent with views you will not find anywhere else in the UK. A beautiful apartment in a wonderful location with views extending across the Channel to France.

Cliff top walks, bus route, village shop and eateries close by. We had a very enjoyable holiday. Thank you.

Lovely flat with views across the Channel.

Mary, the host, left us several unexpected extras which was very kind. Wi-fi very intermittent, this is the reason I have only given 4*. Lots of great walks in the area, and castles nearby. Loads of history in the area. A great base for a break.

The owner was excessively kind and provided biscuits, mineral water and two bottles of Chardonnay for my arrival.

The wine and water were double her standard gift offering I believe given I was staying for two weeks rather than one like many of her prior guests. Most generous and kind.

Very good property had everything we deeded just park the car didn’t need to use as so many walks around.

We received a very warm welcome from Mrs Mary Gyte, with several extras waiting for us in the flat like milk, butter and biscuits which was a very kind touch.

The flat was beautifully presented and the appliances all worked very well. The view over the channel was great, and it was good to be able to go walking over the White Cliffs from the flat without the need to use the car. Also the local bus service was very good which we used on other days to visit Dover, Sandwich and Deal. A most interesting area to explore. Andrew & Barbara King.

This was the perfect spot to explore Dover & surrounding areas, The flat itself was well equipped & nothing was too much for the owner who lived on site, even giving us some ideas of where to go & eat, We are missing that recliner sofa though.

The view across the Channel was very good on most days and St Margaret's on the Cliff is a very pleasant village.

We have come to have high expectations with holidays booked via Sykes and we were definitely not disappointed this time.

The flat was clean, quiet, comfortable and well equipped for the two of us. It was an excellent base from which to visit many interesting locations in East Kent. The owner, who lived below the flat, was a real gem.

Obviously good weather helped but great cottage with warm welcome from the owner.
