A lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable.

We’ve been really lucky with the weather so enjoyed the garden too! Really handy for the shops and cafes/restaurants in Tenterden. Would recommend, thank you very much!!

Vine Cottage has the feel of a well looked after and well loved family home.

The fresh flowers were a particularly nice touch - thank you Trudy. The only reason we down rated the comfort score was due to the road noise in the early mornings which was more noticeable because we had the bedroom window open due to the beautiful weather!

Excellent cottage, very clean and comfortable.

Situated in a delightful village and surrounded by attractive countryside. Would not hesitate to go there again, very relaxing and peaceful. Within easy walking distance of the local high street, full of interesting shops, cafes and pubs.

Vine Cottage is a very comfortable, well-equipped cottage, just a ten minute walk from the centre of Tenterden with its great selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs.

We had no reason to contact the owner during our very enjoyable stay but Trudy had sent several friendly and informative emails previously which encouraged us to contact her for any additional help or information if necessary.

Vine cottage was a comfortable, clean, well furnished, and very convenient for access to the Kent countryside.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and may well book the accommodation again.

Trudy has been a very lovely host and we felt very welcome even before arriving at Vine Cottage.

The cottage is provided with all kinds of comfort, and has a really tasteful interior. We enjoyed our stay at that cosy place very much and would like to come back one day. Thanks a lot to Trudy and her team for these great holidays.

Vine Cottage was by far the best. The decor is exactly what I expected and all the facilities first rate. The town Tenterden is lovely and has everything we needed within a few minutes walk from the cottage. I recommend Vine Cottage.

Super home!

Vine Cottage is quite delightful with accommodation and facilities done with a style and panache not often found in a holiday rental.

Very well equipped throughout, including wonderfully comfortable beds and a generous supply of soft towels. Street parking can be haphazard, but we had no difficulties at all. The garden too is also delightful and bigger than expected with comfortable seating for the warm Autumn evenings that we enjoyed. Tenterden itself has a good range of individual shops, pubs and restaurants and we particularly enjoyed The Print House where the food was quite outstanding and just a few miles away the Three Chimneys, a thatched old fashioned pub serving an excellent Sunday Lunch. The stairs are steep, typical of this style of property, but the owners have done a beautiful renovation of this property and being just a 10 minute walk away from excellent Tenterden facilities, it makes an ideal base for touring this part of Kent. Sissinghurst, Cranbrook and Rye make ideal days out. Highly recommended.

We had a very enjoyable week at Vine Cottage.

It is easy to walk to the High Street so we were able to visit local restaurants at night. There are lots of interesting independent shops too and a good tap room by the Steam Railway. The cottage was warm and well equipped and the instructions that we received before arrival, including suggestions for places to visit, were very useful. Trudy and Barry couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. They saved us a return journey by delivering something we had forgotten in the cottage to their friends who live in our area. A lovely property in an ideal situation to walk into Tenterden High Street and on route to lots of local places.

Very well appointed with an obvious care for quality. Neat back garden with a suitable eating area. We always found a parking space close to the house.

We had a lovely week at Vine Cottage which was very well presented, clean, comfortable and a real home from home.

The only one small downside was the noise from the road at the front of the house. As we were lucky to have beautiful weather we needed the window open at night and the traffic started moving early in the mornings which was not ideal. However, this did not spoil our stay by any means and we would recommend the cottage to others staying in this gorgeous area.

This is a lovely house and very near the town centre.

There’s a nice sunny garden and comfortable beds. Also a good supply of toilet rolls and dishwasher tablets - very unusual. The town has a great vibe with Waitrose right in the middle. Would highly recommend.

Vine Cottage is well presented, clean and uncluttered.

However it did not suit us because of mobility issues. The property was described as being in the centre of Tenterden. It isn't. It is a good half mile from the main central area of the town and too far for us to walk. One shouldn't have to wait until the holiday is fully paid for to be given the actual address. We would not have booked Vine Cottage had we had known its exact location. The big let down in the cottage itself is the extremely steep staircase to the bedrooms. It was difficult to get up and quite frightening to come down. Vine cottage is not suitable for aged guests.

We found the property of a high standard.

Easy walking distance to town centre

The cottage was everything we wanted for our stay in Tenterden.

In particular the garden was a lovely outdoor space where we were able to sit outside to enjoy the early summer sunshine.

Good central location for the town, shops etc. but also very quiet. Convenient for visiting lots of interesting places to visit in the area - Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Scotney Castle, Rye and Canterbury is under an hour away. The Kentish Weald is a surprise and a delight especially for those of us whose experience of Kent has been a hard slog down tge motorways to Dover. Take time off to discover this lovely county.

One of the best holiday cottages we have been to and the owner was very helpful and responsive.

When we arrived we immediately felt at home and would definitely book it again. It is very well equipped and everything has been thought of. Although there is no allocated parking, we had no trouble getting a space on the road just outside. Also, the bedding was of an exceptional quality!

I really enjoyed my week at Vine Cottage. It is very comfortable and is equipped to a high standard, everything works well. Parking was easy. Just a short walk onto Tenterden which has Waitrose and Tesco. Even the weather was good.

This was a very comfortable stay, just a half-mile walk from the centre of Tenterden, a very compact and attractive small town, with an impressive range of shops and services.

There is much to explore and visit in the surrounding area. The parking for Vine Cottage is roadside and free, though parking very close to the Cottage seems to depend on the time of day and twice we had to park overnight in an adjoining road. The house was well-equipped, though we thought it would be nice to have a radio. Some people may find the stairs rather steep. The garden was nicely cared-for and pleasant to sit in. We were pleased that we had chosen Vine Cottage for our stay.

The pretty garden is a bonus too. Vine Cottage a favourite of ours & we will be back. Tenterden is a lovely town & an ideal base for exploring Kent.

The cottage was lovely with all the amenities you need. Certainly a spot to come again. Tip: leave some instructions how to handle the rubbish, what needs to go in which bin.

A lovely cottage just on the outskirts of Tenterden so it was easy to walk into the town.

The cottage was clean, tidy and well maintained. We had a couple of queries and Trudy and Barry were quick to answer them. The bed and furnishings were comfortable and it was well equipped with all we needed. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits were provided as a welcome. It also had a lovely garden with seats to sit out on. The shower was brilliant and easy to set the right temperature. The road outside is busy but we soon got to ignore it so it was not a problem. With great weather we had a lovely stay in Vine Cottage and we can thoroughly recommend it.

We absolutely loved our stay at Vine Cottage, it is a truly lovely place.

The decor is first class, we loved it all, particularly the kitchen dining room with its french door out on to the delightful garden. The only thing was the road outside which we found rather noisy. It was our first visit to Tenterden and really loved it, with it's lovely high street, the steam railway and our favourite, the old dairy taproom down by the station. We had a fab time and will definitely be back.

A fabulous little cottage for a break away.

It was a wonderful base for our girls weekend. It is very comfortable and well equipped with a lovely homely feel. Tenterden town centre is a short walk away. It was also handy for Chapeldown Vineyard which had been a destination point. Highly recommend Vine Cottage.

The house is well placed for visiting the Kent/East Sussex coast & countryside and is a short walk from Tenterden's delightful High Street.

This comfortable house has been thoughtfully renovated and equipped with everything you could need in the kitchen - so tidy with cupboard space for food! Great beds. This is one of the cleanest holiday property I've ever stayed in - spotless.

There are many fascinating places to visit nearby. We enjoyed exploring Great Dixter, Smallhythe Place,, Canterbury and Leeds Castle. A lovely place to stay in an interesting part of the country.

Absolutely amazing property.

We usually have at least three holiday stays per year and this ranks at the top for quality.

Softest bed and lovely bedding and towels. Only one little thing we would have changed is the comfort of the lounge furniture - too hard. So many little touches that we really noticed after other lets this year; plenty of loo rolls, washing pods, dishwasher tablets, cleaning products and towels. Extremely easy house to stay and get comfortable in. Beds were like sleeping on a cloud and I wish I knew which make they are!

Vine Cottage is a real find.

We arrived to find it spotlessly clean and well looked after. The decor and furnishings were tasteful and everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided with no expense spared. Little extras such as tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were very welcome as were essentials such as extra toilet rolls, kitchen roll, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets, and salt, pepper and sugar. As we were lucky and had good weather, we also appreciated the surprisingly large and well-maintained garden, and the comfortable garden furniture. We have no hesitation in recommending this property

Fabulous cottage in a beautiful location, very well equipped, clean and homely.

There are lovely local shops and eateries on the doorstep. 5 star accommodation.

We found Vine Cottage very comfortable and well equipped.

Although there is no allocated parking we did not have a problem parking outside the property. We liked Tenterden and enjoyed meals in several of it's restaurants and pubs. Things we enjoyed were the vintage railway to Bodiam, Sissinghurst Castle and Hope Park.

We stayed at Vine Cottage recently and had a lovely time.

The cottage is quite comfortable and beautifully presented. It is in a great location to explore the area and close enough to walk into Tenterden to enjoy shops and restaurants. The owners were very good with communication, giving helpful tips for places to see.

This was everything we needed - the house was clean and comfortable.

It was within a few minutes walk into the town which has shops/restaurants and pubs as well as the Waitrose. It was a great base to visit local events (we attended the Wealden Mid-winter fair which was a great event). Looking forward to staying here again.

I would definitely recommend the cottage. It was very clean and well equipped. I couldn't mention anything that should be improved because it was perfect as it was! It's very quiet inside the cottage and everything works as it should. Tenterden's high street is a short walk away, with many restaurants, shops and a very nice playground. In the area there are lots of things to do, also for kids. Highly recommended!

Vine Cottage is extremely well furnished with great taste and the kitchen and bathroom are kitted out with modern appliances and equipment.

Every thing you require is provided for self catering, even 2 pairs of kitchen gloves, tea towels etc. and a large fridge/freezer. The garden is large and well maintained with good seating areas. The interesting town of Tenterden is only a few minutes walk away and well worth exploring. For older people the stairs have narrow treads and are rather steep, thank goodness for the handrail. Also the on street parking may not provide a space near the house which can be inconvenient when unloading/loading the car. We parked on a side road a couple of days as did our daughter and her husband.However we thoroughly recommend this lovely cottage in a beautiful part of Kent.

An extremely well appointed and comfortable property, close to the town centre as promised.

Parking was a bit hit and miss though, and we had to park some distance away a few times.

We have recently stayed at Vine cottage,and it was delightful,we have given the cottage 5 stars as we found it to be everything the reviews said,for cleanliness,comfort,and with everything provided and more,beautiful bedding and a great shower,the kitchen was perfectly stocked,and little touches like fresh flowers on the table, this shows the care and attention Trudie and Barry put into the cottage for their guests,it was a joy to open the patio kitchen doors in a morning on to the prettiest little garden to have coffee.

The market town of Tenderten has every thing you need,great restaurants and nice independent shopping,we found everything we needed in town and it’s on a very short walk from the cottage,the surrounding area is so lovely,from historic houses,beautiful villages,great wineries and the beach,the area has everything and a lot of history,it was a lovely week, Stephen and Michelle

We loved the house and the atmosphere.

However we were disappointed about the television and the quality of the channel reception tv was terrible. For the owner perhaps not a problem but for the guest who like to watch tv it must be perfect. At least one of the 2 bedrooms a tv would be recommedable. Please no cleaning mop for hygiene.

The cottage was very well appointed with everything we could possibly need.

A lot of thought has obviously gone into this and we appreciated the care taken. For example there were quilts of different weight for the beds, a beautiful flower arrangement on the dining table. The garden is beautiful, sadly it was rather cold during our stay, but lovely for better days. Tenterden itself has lots of facilities. We particularly liked the Turkish restaurant on the high street. We visited Canterbury, Walmer, Sissinghurst, Dungeness and had a trip on the local heritage railway. All these within easy distance.

Received a lovely welcome pack and there were dishwasher tablets etc which makes life easier. We requested an extension lead and that was kindly dropped off to us. We really enjoyed our stay and the only problem we had was that it was sometimes difficult to park near to the house, which was really only an issue when unloading and loading. We would still stay here again though as that didn't detract from our stay too much. Great location for visiting all over Kent. Thanks for a great stay!

A beautifully kept cottage in a great location for visiting the town, local attractions and walking.

We had a very enjoyable week in Vine Cottage, it was a lovely space to return to after a day out, and we even had a couple of late afternoons just have relaxing in the garden - we were so lucky with the weather! Thank you Trudy and Barry for the helpful information provided too.

An excellent place to stay in this area.

Well equipped, clean and warm. Good contact with owners. Parking on road outside worked well. Easy access to good shopping in town. The house is as good as it looks, and the positive feedback is accurate.

We have stayed in many holiday cottages and Vine Cottage was one of the cleanest, stylish and well equipped, we have never had such a good selection of glasses!

The main bed was very comfortable and the garden has a lovely seating area that catches the afternoon sun which we were able to enjoy.The location is easily walkable to Tenterden centre and there are lots of walks out from the town. The cottage is on a fairly busy road but was reasonably quiet overnight. It was not always possible to park outside the cottage, which maybe the price you pay for a central location. The stairs are quite steep, not a problem for us, but could be if elderly or small children, and the bath/shower very slippery without a non slip mat. Luckily we take our own.

Lovely cottage and a nice little walk into Tenterden.

. Great communication with owners. Lovely cotton bed linen. Extremely clean and well equipped. Lovely garden if only the weather had been slightly warmer but you would be lucky in February to be able to sit out. Would recommend to friends if they were going that way.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful.

Everything was so tasteful, immaculate, super comfortable and luxurious - the beds the towels the bedding, the bathroom. Like a hotel stay! The kitchen was extremely well equipped and having a washing machine and tumble drier was amazing with a young baby. The village itself is a short walk away we barely used the car - lovely shops a Waitrose and Tesco and lots of lovely pubs and cafes. A real home from home. Will return for sure.

Altogether excellent but a couple of observations.

(1). It would be difficult for two large people to share the smaller room (2) Although there is a lot of parking available often it is all occupied and difficult to find anywhere else. Waitrose is very handy !! Lots of interesting shops in the town.

We had an amazing 2 weeks stay in Vine Cottage.

The house was gorgeous and very tastefully decorated. Everything was spotlessly clean with a very well equipped kitchen at our disposal. The owners even left us some fresh eggs, milk and butter as well as a nice bottle of sparkling wine. We had a slight problem with a leaking kitchen sink, which the owners immediately fixed within 2h. We were also given a second set of bed sheets since we were staying longer than a week. The area itself is great, only a short walk to the high street with lots of lovely walks to the countryside. The cottage is situated on a fairly busy road, but the noise was barely noticeable. We would definitely stay again, everything was perfect and the owners made sure that we had a great stay! We had a great stay at Vine Cottage.

The owners had thought of everything and the whole house and everything in it was super clean. There was a lovely garden with garden furniture and umbrella, we were lucky enough to use these as we had wonderful weather. The house just couldn’t be faulted and we loved Tenterden. The whole area was beautiful with many places to visit. Would thoroughly recommend!

Vine Cottage was immaculate and had everything plus more that we needed for our short stay away, even some basic supplies and a most enjoyable bottle of local wine in the fridge left for us! We are already planning another stay next year, thank you.

Vine Cottage is beautifully presented to a high standard.

It is very comfortable with luxury beds and bedding. The garden and outdoor seating area is perfect for meals outside and relaxing in good weather. We really enjoyed our holiday. It is very easy to walk into Tenterden from the cottage where there are lots of individual shops and places to eat. We enjoyed lots of local walks and trips to the coast and beautiful gardens around the area. There is definitely plenty to do. We especially enjoyed the Nature reserve at Rye Harbor where we hired bikes. Also did kayaking at Bodiam. Visited so many beautiful places Rye, Cranbrook, Winchelsea, King Johns Nursery at Ticehurst, Hastings, Dungeness, Charleston.... The owners are very helpful and responsive and we would have no hesitation in rebooking. Kent and Sussex are really beautiful areas to explore and Vine Cottage is a relaxing and comfortable place to stay. Thank you.

We have just had a week at this lovely cottage .

It is maintained to a high standard . Lots of positives from the gorgeous towels to the fine glass ware , a wide range of wine / beer glasses which we loved . There was a lovely welcome pack of essentials on our arrival , with well stocked basics . The kitchen had everything we needed. The owners gave us all the information required prior to our arrival . It is an easy walk into town where there is a wide selection of pubs and restaurants plus a micro brewery down by the steam train . The off road parking was a concern for us however we always managed to find a space , so it was not really a problem . Lovely south facing garden . All in all a lovely well maintained cottage.

We had a lovely stay in Vine Cottage.

The cottage is beautifully decorated to a high standard and very clean. The garden is also lovely, our two daughters enjoyed playing outside and we enjoyed food and drinks on the patio. The owners were really welcoming and it was easy to get hold of them for any advice. The cottage is in walking distance of the high street, with lots of places to eat in or take away. We really enjoyed the Thai takeaway, that is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. For families with younger children there is a great park nearby and lots for them to do. We also enjoyed travelling a little further and visited Camber Sands, Rye and Dover Castle. We would recommend Vine Cottage as a great place for a family break.
