Taylor's Cottage

Lovely cottage with a great kitchen and living area, our only recommendation is we did not have hot water in the sinks or bath and were unsure how to get hot water?

We read the instructions but not clear to us, also no bags were left for linen so unsure we just piled it up together, and rubbish, there was only 1 bin which was full so again unsure where this went. However everything else was first class thankyou

We enjoyed the beautiful and peaceful location with great access to Keswick town with the local bus service.

If your driving ,there is a nice little shortcut from the A66 to Thirlmere Dam where you can pick up the main scenic route to Windermere.This is cosy little place with everything you need including a wood burner which was an absolute pleasure to sit and watch the logs crackling away.Unfortubately I fell over a step in the kitchen which I forgot was there banging my head on the sink and fracturing my my wrist.So please be vigillant of this step as the nearest a&e is Whitehaven or Carlisle.So dont listen to Google telling you that Cockermouth walk in hospital is open 24hrs as we found out differently after a 15 mile drive.Apart from this we had a lovely stay.

A cosy cottage in a nice area.

The beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean. We liked the heated floor! The first bedroom would be even better without the wallpaper. The kitchen and living room area could use some freshening up as it wasn’t the cleanest. Relatively well equipped kitchen, just needs a large pot as it is a house for 6 guests. Checking in and out was easy with no stress.

Great cottage in a fabulous location, ideally situated for catching a bus , walking into Keswick along the dissused railway path and close to two pubs and a cafe , comfortable beds and nicely furnished, Jaccuzi was a treat after a long days walking .

Taylor’s cottage is in a great location.

There are so many walks on the doorstep and the scenery is beautiful. The cottage has everything you need, the beds are comfy and it is well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a lovely meal at The Horse and Farrier just down the road and the doge were welcome. Keswick is only a few minutes down the road when we needed more supplies. A great week away.

Bed linen and towels spotless.

..fridge and dishwasher spotless. Some nice touches for dogs, towel and biscuits. Beautiful location. Mould on walls in kitchen and bathroom, jets in bath not clean, and shower tracks. Mouldy tea cosy and slow cooker. None of provided torches worked. Broken floor tiles in kitchen, ceiling light bulbs not working. Lots of dust and cobwebs in most areas. Cleaner needs more time. And a general coat of paint.

Very well equipped and furnished throughout with comfortable beds.

We liked the log fire and once we had got the house warmed up it was nice and snug. We were pleased that the parking spaces were handy at the back. We might book again.

The cottage was very comfortable, well equipped and with plenty of space. It was perfectly situated for local walks and pubs, as well as easy access to Keswick and other places in the Lakes. Many thanks for a lovely week.

I loved this quirky cottage.

On arrival he description, though, was not clear as to which door was back and which front. We spent a long time trying to find which gatepost the description was referring to. Finally, on phoning the owner things were resolved. The final step of the staircase came as a bit of a shock as it was a big step down. I suffer with polyneuropathy and found this challenging perhaps there could be a warning regarding this. However the beds and sofas were very comfortable: the kitchen was extremely well equipped and provisions for dogs were the best. Hope these comments are helpful.
