  • "An amazing house with lovely views."

Everything was clean, tidy and in working order. We had no problems or concerns at all during our stay. It was more than we could have asked for. Thank you so much!

  • "Every comfort you could want after a long day out on the fells."

The house was warm, spacious and clean with magnificent views and plenty of nearby activities to choose from. Enjoyed a (somewhat dicey) ridge-walk up Blencathra, snow on the summit of Skiddaw and stunning views while on The Coldale Round. Didn't want the stay here to end, but glad to have found this gem for the future. Thanks and see you again next year.

  • "We have stayed here twice before, arriving for the third time it was noted immediately that the cleanliness had reduced dramatically, I cleaned the cobwebs from the lounge light fitting (lots of them) and also from the walls in lounge and bedroom."

The cooker hob was very dirty and the kitchen floor sticky so we cleaned this also. The glass coffee table in the lounge was also awful. We were surprised as previously the cleaning standard was exceptional. This is just some constructive feedback, not a criticism by any means.

Dear Graham, thank you for three stays with us and, indeed, your booking for next year. We are very sorry that the cleaning let us down this time around. As you kindly say, the standard of cleaning is generally exceptional. We try very hard to make it so, but of course lapses can occur. We have discussed this with our professional managers and have arranged to change the cleaning team to provide greater experience and allow more cleaning time, given the size of the property. We trust this will bring One The Howe back to its sparkling best. Guy and Pippa Heath Property Owner

  • "Spacious and warm rooms with great views of valleys and fells."

Many parts of the flat were dirty however and this spoilt our stay.

As owners of the property it is important to us that our guests love coming to it as much as we do, and we apologise unreservedly for the poor cleaning that you experienced,. We ourselves knew nothing about this until three days after your arrival. We understand that this was due to the use of a contract cleaner, not the usual team. You certainly deserve compensation, and we should be grateful if you would contact Lakelovers again to arrange this. We are so sorry that you had this bad experience. Property Owner

It is just perfect. A home from home. Ideally situated for the Northern Lakes with loads of walks a short distance from the apartment. We have already booked to return with friends in June 2024.

Large bedrooms with very comfy beds. Enjoyed the conservatory, lovely scenery. Excellent location, only 5 minutes drive to Keswick centre and 10 minute walk to a nice pub. Great bonus was the large garage for our car and bikes.

great views from the house. walk to Keswick along the Derwent is great but can be muddy or damp will take about 25 minutes but if you wish its only a short 5 minute drive. Definity recommend a stay at one the how.

  • "A perfect venue for our first holiday with my husband and friends from Swanage, my husband now being on ambulatory and oxygen concentrator."

Thanks to the host for allowing Bayswater to deliver our oxygen equipment. Everything was perfect for access and space in the apartment for wheelchair use. Because of this we’ve had a wonderful break and now it’s a known quantity for another holiday in our favourite place. We used to go to the lakes in our courting days 63 years ago. Enjoyed showing our friends around and the day out going over wrynose and hardknot passes then langdale valley was a day they’ll never forget. Thanking you for letting us enjoy such a beautiful place.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are really glad that you enjoyed your stay and everything that the property and area had to offer. Lakelovers Owner Relations Expert Property Owner

  • "1 The Howe is a lovely place to stay, beautifully positioned with magnificent views."

It was our second stay there and it was as delightful as before. The interior is clean, comfortable and well furnished. My only small moan would be the state of the windows which needed a good clean inside and out. However, it's a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it and definitely stay there again myself.

  • "Delightful apartment with wonderful views!"

Spacious, spotless and comfortable with everything that was needed. Utilities folder was concise. I had no trouble with the coded key store and the electric gate fob is well placed on the hall table. Lovely welcome pack and essentials to start off our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and didn’t want to leave.

  • "It would have been nice to have a patio table and chairs as we could have eat outside on a couple of occasions."

There also needs to be more than one set of keys - we were 2 couples and did not always do the same thing and found driving out and then having to go back into the house to lock up and put the keys in the key box every time a bit inconvenient. It would have been useful to have had the bin collection times so we could have put them out - the recycle plastic etc was so full we could not get ours in.

Hello Janet -We are sorry about the patio table and chairs, , which are in the garage allocated to you ,and should have been put out for your use. The sudden warm weather took us by surprise! Re the bins, unfortunately the Cumberland Council waste collection folks have been on strike and therefore collections have been delayed. We understand there should be a comprehensive collection this week. Best wishes. Guy and Pippa Property Owner

All the many thoughtful details were really appreciated, and the house was extremely elegant, comfortable, cozy and warm. Our only hesitation about it was that the listing made it sound quite a bit easier walk to get into Keswick. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay!

The apartment was comfortable, quiet, spacious and very well equipped. We knew it was a distance from Keswick, which we were happy with although walking across the busy main road wouldn’t be everyone’s choice. Our daughter loved the sun room and felt right at home in the swinging chair! Overall it was a great place and one we’d be happy to return to. A big thank you also to Kim from the management team, who helped keep the journey up from Oxford stress free despite the huge delays we experienced :-)

The great pluses for us we're: it's all on single level; parking for two vehicles; and beautiful vistas all around. A short drive from the centre of Keswick at the end of a single track path. No facilities like a pub on the doorstep, but everything else made up for. Thoroughly enjoyable and we intend to revisit when we can.

As well as the info from Sykes about access etc, i also got a text directly from the owners both on arrival and leaving. There was a wonderful welcome pack for our party on arrival which made us feel welcome straightaway. I would definitely recommend One the How to my friends. The kitchen was well stocked, the only thing I couldn't find was a food processor/liquidiser which would have been very useful.
