  • "The property is absolutely top notch."

Everything is to a high standard and spotless. 10-15 min drive to Pooley bridge which is lovely little place with 3 different pubs to choose from. 15-20 min drive to aira force waterfall. Lovely walk round there. Ullswater lake is same sort of time depending where you go as it’s got lots of different parking areas and windmere is about an hour away. I wouldn’t hesitate staying here again

Hello Craig, It sounds like you made the most of your stay and enjoyed the cabin and the local area to the full. Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. It truly is much approached by me and all our team. All the best, Kate. Property Owner

  • "The cabin appeared to be finished with no expense spared."

Everything there was high quality and it wasn’t difficult to notice. Underfloor heating was amazing, brilliant cooking facilities along with pots and pans, beautiful cutlery and crockery. The view was stunning and the extra effort to make a viewing area was well worth it. The mattress was comfy and all the bedding, towels and robes were immaculately clean. Everything was. Nice big TV for the evening after a dip in the hot tub and plastic wine glasses so they don’t t get broken out in said hot tub. Genius! Extraordinary value for money, we will be back I am sure. My only small piece of feedback for this cabin is the privacy of the hot tub. Although it is well tucked away, if someone is in the cabin next door (as they were while we were there), they can easily walk past and see straight into the hot tub. Easily fixed with a screen or gate. Other than that, the place was amazing. One other thing, more to do with the website I used I suspect, but the cabins are quite close to the main road. Excellent for accessibility but just a tad noisy on a morning with trucks driving up and down. Not that it impacted our stay, just that the map shows, I think, the cottages location and not the cabins. Thanks for the great weekend, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Hello Joe, Thank you for the very comprehensive feedback! We’re really pleased you appreciated the quality of the finish in the cabins. We have tried very hard to make the experience of staying in one of the cabins, as special as possible for our guests. There is a little bit of screening at Bluebell, but we deliberately didn’t put a screen where you suggest as it would obstruct the view. If guests want to avoid anyone going passed their cabin, you can pick Yew Tree or Brow Wood. And Herdwick has full screening for the hot tub. Alternatively, if you want even more privacy you could try the Gardener’s Retreat which is in the walled garden. I’ll check with the Agency about the map as it should show the cabins’ exact location, We look forward to seeing you again. All the best, Kate and the team. Property Owner

Unfortunately because of the bad weather we were unable to use the hot tub

Hello Carla, Thank you for such a thoughtful review. I am so pleased you felt the cabin was immaculate, I will pass on your comments. One thing I can’t control is the weather so I’m sorry it wasn’t right for using the tub, All I can say is please come back again so you can use the hot tub and enjoy the views. Only things we missed were coat hooks when you arrive with wet coats and a broom to sweep lounge floor..

About the location

ULLSWATER

The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Pooley Bridge is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.

Please note, charging of electric vehicles is not permitted in this lodge. The nearest charging point can be found at Booths Supermarket or Morrisons in Penrith, roughly a 10 minute drive.

Please note: logs and kindling etc, for the hot tub are included for one night, more can be purchased by contacting the owner or bought from local shops. Sorry no Hot Tub towels are provided.
