  • "The property was really comfortable."

    Slight lack of clothing drawspace in the bedroom but this was manageable by using the second bedroom. The living room was well appointed and very comfortable. Lovely sunny veranda. Barrels on the keysafe were very stiff which might be helped with a drop of oil. Would have no hesitation in booking this property

  • "Location - 15-20min walk into Keswick, 5 min by car."

    Just off the A66 so good access to the lakes. The lodge: A well-maintained, functional lodge with comfortable beds. Clean shower room with toilet. Towels and sheets etc are provided. Basic supplies also provided but had to supplement eg we had to buy more toilet rolls for our stay. Cramped bedrooms and kitchen. Pleasant dining (4 seats & table) and lounge (3 seats) area with French doors to an outside balcony with table and chairs. Basic free-view TV. DVD player and separate CD player - we didn’t use those. A few books and board games (Scrabble, not much else). Limited storage space in the kitchen and bedrooms. Much of the kitchen cupboard space, where the plates are kept plus additional storage, is high overhead (more than 5ft I’d say) - okay for 5’7”+ of us; shorter (5’1”) struggled. Small fridge with freezer compartment. Small dishwasher. Useful washing machine, no dryer. Look for other equipment - cutlery was in a drawer next to the door, there’s a folded cot, a clothes horse, an iron and ironing board. We also found the hairdryer at the end of our stay, in a small bedroom drawer. Think we found the switch for the towel rail, in the cupboard above the sink/ washing machine - found too late to try. Smaller than expected for the price, so felt a bit cheated. Had expected larger - we were only two adults last year (this year, three adults), in a one bedroom lodge at the park. This 2-bedroom lodge was over the same area, which is why it felt much more squeezed in. We were out much of the time so didn’t matter too much to us in practice.

  • "More attention needed to the lodge (wood clad static caravan)."

    Damp smelling bedrooms, insufficiently equipped (broken can opener, no cleaning spray, no cooking spoon etc) and shower was intermittent hot and cold, as well as low-powered. Manageable in the Summer; would be brutal in Winter. Not good value accommodation.

We take all our feedback seriously and have looked into the points raised, although if you had raised these concerns during your stay they could have been addressed then. All the lodges on Burnside are purpose made timber Lodges and certainly not caravans. Clening produts are in the hall cupboard next to bathroom, and although tin opener was working and spoons etc present in the cutlery drawer they have all been replaced. We have thoroughly cheked the shower, as we have never received any adverse comments previously. We have tried to equip Ennerdale Lodge to give all you need for a comfortable holiday, as the majority of our feedback testifies to. Property Owner

  • "The lodge was cosy, really enjoyed the decking once we had swept it!"

    And swept the steps up to the lodge! Maybe in need of more TLC! nice dining area, good views, good crockery, TV extremely poor! Pixelated often, very old, very small and generally unacceptable! Especially considering the amount we paid for our stay!

  • "The week which my wife and I spent at Ennerdale Lodge was very enjoyable."

    The property was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location was peaceful and we hardly noticed the noise from the A66. We would very much like to return.

  • "Lovely break very comfortable everything provided that we might need except a bit more info re: where to take rubbish etc - we found bins ok but not recycling."

    We switched lounge fire on at the plug and TV went off! Not sure if there's a loose connection there, needs checking. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

    Not a bad property for the price, everything you need for a stay in the lakes One negative is the steps leading into the property, they have had some anti slip material at some point but this has now worn off, a serious health hazard in the wet

Ennerdale Lodge is a delightful, wooden lodge settled into the countryside park of Burnside Park, near Keswick, ideal for a family or group of friends looking to explore the many wonders of Cumbria.

Park off-road and make your way into this lovely property, with pine walls and furniture throughout to add a traditional lodge feel.

Find an open-plan living space offering an amply fitted kitchen where guests can cook up a storm, and a dining space for hearty meals.

After a day of exploring, settle into the sitting area for a movie marathon beside the glowing electric fire.

With views across the park, make the most of the elevated enclosed decking, a wonderful spot for enjoying a glass of your favourite beverage in the evening sunshine.

When sleep calls, freshen up in the shower room before getting cosy in either a double bedroom with fitted wardrobes for all your belongings and a twin room.

Burnside Park rests on the outskirts of Keswick, with access to the many amenities and attractions of the area, including Keswick Extreme watersports and climbing activities, walks beside the River Greta, a local museum and golf course.

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
