  • "Fantastic location, very clean, well-stocked kitchen, easy access, thorough and informative welcome-manual."

There was even a box of fudge and a bottle of wine to welcome us. We can't fault our stay and would certainly stay again. Thanks for having us!

  • "This was a spacious and well-appointed terrace house (two knocked into one, I suspect!"

) and we enjoyed an extremely pleasant and comfortable stay. On arrival we discovered dust under some of the furniture and cobwebs on the lampshades - not a huge problem, but we did notice it! Parking on the narrow cul-de-sac street is not always possible, especially with four people using two cars. Turning is almost impossible on the short street, so you end up backing out on to the main road. We mostly had to find street parking nearby, but that wasn't difficult. There were only two bowls when we arrived, but by the second day four more were provided. We have broken one small wine glass during our stay: please bill us for the replacement.

  • "We had a fabulous week at Fryston Cottage."

The cleanliness was impeccable, kitchen very well equipped and the beds comfortable and quiet at night. The nearby road is busy but didn’t disturb our sleep as the traffic dies down later in the evening. The pub across the road is great to visit after a days walking to have a drink outside in the front sun trap. Again, any noise disappears on closing time and was not an issue. Managed to park right outside every evening. Took about 10 mins or so to walk into town and is very pleasant if you go along the old railway line walk. Very spacious accommodation. Thank you for our lovely stay.

Great location for walks into Keswick and surrounding area. Helpful information pack in the house and lots of games and books in the event of bad weather. Fortunately it was mostly dry so we had plenty of days out and some lovely pubs and restaurants to choose from.

  • "Very happy with our stay at Fryston Cottage."

The location is great, being only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Keswick and having a pub (food available) and Spar (everyday shopping) very close by. The property is spacious, very well maintained and everything was clean and tidy on arrival. As per description parking is a little tight but we didn't have any problems with this. .

Loved the accommodation, very clean, warm and beautifully maintained. Thankyou for the fudge and wine you left for us, it was very much appreciated. We asked for the twin room to be made up as a double but it wasn't. There was plenty glasses but maybe some champagne/prosecco glasses would be nice. Thanks again for a great stay

  • "Lovely spacious but cosy cottage."

It looks small from the outside but really opens up inside. Great to have 2 bathrooms . Lovely large master bedroom. The fudge and wine were much appreciated but perhaps a pint of milk for a cuppa after a long journey by public transport. Ideally situated for walking and a short walk into the centre of town.

This holiday let has everything you would need and more. Well located with a 10 walk into the centre of Keswick and a good base for touring the lake district. Only slight issue was the king size bed has a raise in the middle. Possibly due to people sleeping on the sides of the bed and not in the middle. This did not effect my sleep however.

  • "Just returned from a wonderful week in Fryston Cottage, Keswick."

It is a beautiful little cottage with everything provided including dish wash tablets, washing tablets, soap, toilet roll etc, thank you for that. A home from home! A lovely welcoming bottle of wine and delicious fudge too! Spotlessly clean and so comfortable. The house can home four people, although we had it to ourselves there is plenty space for four. Plenty crockery and cutlery. The supersize king bed was very comfortable, there is a nice big bath with shower over (great water pressure) also another bathroom with walk in shower. It is just next to The Twa Dogs pub which is a lovely little country pub with outside seating. No noise problems from it. Good beer and lovely home cooked food, we ate there one evening. A 10-15 minute walk into Keswick town centre and the best way is via the old railway path (directions in the house) a lovely walk which we did every day. The only negatives, and please don’t let these put you off, are that the cottage is up a narrow lane and there is room for one car outside the door. We chose to reverse up the lane to park as you are coming out onto a busy road, so it is easier to drive straight out. Also there is no garden, so no where to sit out (other than the pub across the lane) also no where to hang washing but there is a washing machine and separate tumble drier and a clothes horse too. We would highly recommend a stay in this lovely cottage and we were very sad to be leaving yesterday (stayed end May for one week).

The interior is of an excellent standard with 2 large shower/bathrooms. The location is very convenient for strolling into Keswick via the disused railway path, not to mention being next to a dog friendly pub. The only very minor disappointment was no milk left in the fridge, although the wine, fudge and crisps were beautiful.

It seemed like it was recently redone - very modern but has kept some of the nice charming features. Plenty of space and good setup for traveling with a toddler. The cottage is a short walk into Keswick. It’s next to a pub and the road into Keswick, but we didn’t notice the noise. Very nice to have plenty of available parking.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, we are pleased you liked the decor the space for your toddler, great to hear the pub wasn't noisy and parking was easy. Property Owner

The house is very well equipped and furnished to a high standard. There was a bottle of wine & box of fudge as a welcome surprise. The 10 minute walk into Keswick is lovely and I would recommend taking the walk on the old railway rather than the road - directions are in the house. I would certainly go back and highly recommend the cottage.

The Cottage was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you need and is very well equipped and spacious with a family table for breakfasts/dinners. The bedrooms were very comfortable. The maste having a large ensuite, with bath and shower over. Both shower rooms were excellent and very clean. There is no garden but we didn't mind this. There is a pub very close opposite the cottage, which we didn't use (not pub goers). The lane where the cottage is, is a cul de sac and very narrow so we chose to reverse in to park. There was limited parking but we only had one car so it was fine. Good location, about a 15 min walk into Keswick. Overall, a lovely, comfortable, clean, well equipped cottage. Would we stay again, yes.

What a lovely gesture! The living room and kitchen were so clean, the cutlery and pans high quality, ultra modern throughout. Upstairs, lovely thick carpets, good sized rooms and stunning bathrooms, one en-suite. We didnt want to leave this cottage! Lots of wardrobe space and drawers and everything provided from towels to hair dryers. Keswick was lovely and a perfect location for short trips around before returning to relax in the cottage. After going to Cornwall for the last 8 years I wondered what the Lakes would be like. I neednt have worried. We enjoyed every minute even when it rained the odd day. Thanks to the owners and Sykes cottages who kept us informed with emails on arrival and leaving the property. Highly recommended!
