  • "The positives - a fabulous cottage in a stunning location - just beautiful, especially sitting out in the evening overlooking the fells."

Also the views from the picture windows from inside the cottage were amazing ! The furnishings were lovely and so clean. The negatives - I say this as we really want to return and need a few improvements. Please provide more tea plates (only 2 !! ) and towels (1 each for a 3 night/4 day stay was not enough. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall and agree with previous reviewer that the light switch near cupboard must be shortened. Would we stay again ? Absolutely - stunning!

  • "What a stunning location with a view of the fells that we could not stop looking at."

The accommodation is perfectly laid out with everything you need for either an active or a relaxing holiday. The location is a bit out of the town which makes for a very quiet and peaceful stay. It is only a short walk along the old railway path into the busy town. If I could change something, I would shorten the light cord so the cupboard door doesn’t hit the shade. We never got used to that all week. I would also add a shaver socket to the bathroom, our electric toothbrush needs one to keep it topped up. Some may need to shave too. This is certainly one of those places that we will return to.

  • "Perfect for two, very quiet."

A good base for walks in the northern lakes. The welcome treats were very appreciated. We can see why so many visitors return.

  • "This was our first visit to Garden Cottage and we were not disappointed."

It's a lovely modern feeling Cottage, well furnished and well equipped. It was lovely, warm and welcoming. The views from the windows are stunning, and the gardens and grounds are lovely, despite torrential rain it was a pleasure to stay in. I was particularly pleased that the TV offered Freeview, iPlayer, Amazon video and Netflix as the weather was so bad and usually never stay indoors but glad to have this, as most holiday lets don't. It's possible to get grocery deliveries there too which is also a plus. Overall fabulous, hopefully back in better weather. Thank you

  • "There is damp in the bedroom behind the curtains on the right and the carpet is wet."

They are aware because they have a little humidifier on the floor but towards the end of the week you could feel the damp on the sheets and there may be complaints from customers that aren’t as kind. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. Views were phenomenal and the cottage provided lovely treats when we arrived!

  • "The apartment was in a lovely quiet location yet only 15 minutes walk into the centre of Keswick."

The views from the lounge were fantastic, and the owners had organised some really nice touches on arrival, with cakes, a bottle of wine and milk left for us. Would definitely recommend.

  • "I've come to expect little snags with holiday lettings - a noisy extractor fan or shower that is difficult to set right, a tv that is more than a decade old or token kitchen equipment that assumes you won't be doing much self-catering in a self-catering apartment anyway."

But not so at Garden Cottage! Everything works and works well! The setting is perfect and the views towards Cat Bells and beyond are heavenly. I tried to fault it in some way but all that I could find is a light fitting outside the bathroom which bangs against a cupboard door each time it is opened. A couple of inches off the flex is all that is keeping this glorious apartment from perfection! My wife and I had a wonderful holiday in a glorious part of the world aided in no small part by our stay in Garden Cottage.

  • "This is our third time at this lovely property and it has always been excellent."

A lovely quiet location with a great view. I am sure we will be returning. However receiving an email and text message telling our holiday was over on Friday morning weren’t necessary as we were well aware.

  • "Garden Cottage was very comfortable and had superb views over the fells around Keswick."

Access to Keswick is easy in foot via the walking track along the old railway line. We really enjoyed our stay. Good sensible covid protocols. A few more cereal bowls would have allowed us to make better use of the dish washer. The sign up the track to the property is hidden behind a low wall!

Great location, nicely furnished, clean with wonderful views. It is possible to leave the car and just walk from the door all week!

  • "An absolute gem of a cottage, with possibly the best views I’ve ever had from a holiday cottage."

It was immaculately clean and you could of cooked a banquet in the extremely well equipped kitchen, shower was powerful and hot, bed very comfy but the views are what will blow you away. Ate in Casa Bella, The Royal Oak and Lakes Bar and Bistro and can recommend them all. Did some amazing walks, did Derwentwater walk but if you walk to and from the cottage it makes it nearly 14 miles.... Keswick to Threlkeld railway trail is a lovely level walk and we did a couple of trails at Whinlatter Forest, the only negative was people arrived Friday night and you could hear them moving about upstairs and again in the morning but it would not stop me returning.

  • "Garden Cottage was clean, warm and spacious with wonderful views."

The facilities for self catering were excellent making our stay very relaxed. On arrival we found scones, butter and jam waiting for us which was much appreciated. In addition there was a complimentary bottle of wine in the fridge and some fresh flowers on the table. These small touches were most welcoming. All instructions to ensure our safety during our stay at the Cottage whilst COVID-19 is still ongoing were clearly outlined after making the booking. Similarly instructions left in the property were really straight forward to follow allowing safe procedures for staff entering for cleaning or maintenance etc. The thorough planning was both impressive and reassuring. We had a very enjoyable stay familiarising ourselves with this stunning area and would happily make a return visit.

  • "A beautiful apartment with amazing views - Could not have asked for anything more."

However, it did take 30 minutes to walk to town centre - not 10 as stated in property description. This might be important to some - indeed it was important to me with my arthritic knee ! But, as it turned out - the house so nice we were happy to stay in. Thankyou so much for all the little extras -the Christmas Tree was lovely and the mince pies delicious! I have already recommended to friends. thanks again

  • "We were really impressed with this apartment."

As frequent holiday makers in keswick this is the best accommodation by far to suit our self catering needs. It is close enough to keswick to walk into and the facilities are very clean and luxurious. Very roomy for 2 people and our 6 month old baby. The view from the apartment is its standout feature, looking out across the mountains and town. So peaceful and relaxing to simply stare out over on an evening. The welcome goodies (scones, jam, milk and wine) were a very lovely gesture. Sue, the owner, was very easy to contact and extremely helpful. We really hope to return sometime soon.

  • "The apartment was equipped and furnished to a very high standard."

We loved being able to sit on the patio and enjoy the views and the tranquility. Whilst nothing particularly wrong with them, a newer sofa and firmer bed mattress would make the score 10/10!

  • "Spotlessly clean, excellent facilities, thoughtful goodies on arrival (milk, scones and wine)."

The flat has its own entrance which made it feel more individual. The bed was extremely comfy and the duvet was of good quality. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely return to this property if we are holidaying in the Keswick area again. The guestbook included many references to return visits, and we can see why.

A really excellent welcome pack - wine, scones, milk and jam. Secluded terrace with a view to die for and good parking. Small niggles - bulb missing from a side light with no spare, hooks needed on back of doors for hanging towels/dressing gowns and hairdryer not working. Small things which in no way affected a brilliant cottage and holiday, just ares for improvement. Would certainly stay again.
