  • "Absolutely beautiful throughout and very spacious."

Ideal location for both the town centre and the lake. Very quiet even though close to the main road. Housekeeper (Angela) was very helpful. The plumbread and jam and fresh milk on arrival was a nice touch. Also on arrival there was a pack containing scourers, washing up liquid, dishcloth etc - this is not always the case in other places we have stayed

  • "An excellent high quality apartment, very clean, spacious and comfortable."

The bed is extremely comfortable. A great location for the lake and Keswick town. The keyless entry system was a bonus. Car parking is a little tight, but manageable if you reverse in. We will definitely return again.

  • "Fantastic location and wonderfully clean apartment."

Very comfortable big bed. Lovely large bathroom. The kitchen space is quite small, which is not much of a problem for 2 people, but there’s not much space to store food. It also suffered from my pet hate of there not being a generous amount of crockery and cutlery. The bedroom is cosy but again, storage is limited. I would get rid of the pointless armchair in there and put in a small chest of drawers. We had a fantastic stay though, and unusually for us, will probably go back.

It was a couple of minutes walk to the centre of Keswick and a few minutes walk the other way to Derwent Water. Parking was tight but we have a big SUV and it was still fine. Will definitely come again and recommend it to others.

Very comfortable, great location. The facilities were very good and the drying room in the basement was a godsend. Loved the stay and plan to go back. The only improvement I can suggest is to provide a Wok

Couldn't recommend this apartment more highly - the owners have not spared expense and have gone for quality throughout and the result is excellent. It is also brilliantly situated a few minutes walk from the town centre of Keswick and less than 10 minutes walk to Derwentwater. Also special thanks to the on-site manager Angela who was very helpful and arranged a bath mat for the shower for my wife.

  • "Property is in a perfect location and was equipped with everything you could need."

Angela was very helpful. There was a parking space for the property but it was very tight to get into especially if the other two spaces were being used. On reading previous feedback about the parking we had purchased a parking permit for Central car park just across the road which worked out perfectly. Having said that I wouldn’t hesitate to book this property again it’s a gem.

  • "WOW! What an apartment!"

Been doing self catering for over 45 years and No 1 Howe Keld is by far the best. Every detail has been well thought out with excellent taste and great quality. A grab rail in the shower would make it perfect for anyone less mobile. A wonderful warm welcome by Angela such an asset to this establishment with her willing helpful ways. The apartment is so central for shops, places to eat, Hope park and the lake but very quiet. We shall certainly be revisiting and have no hesitation in recommending it.

  • "We have just returned home from a lovely week in Keswick at Howe Keld Apartment One."

What a wonderful asset you have in the resident manager - Angela. She is warm, friendly and so helpful without being intrusive. Thankyou Angela. The location of the apartment is great, an easy walk to the town centre and to the Lake through Hope gardens. The apartment itself is so stylish, with lovely art work on all the walls. It is really well equipped. The bed is huge and super comfortable. We are an elderly couple and I have some mobility issues and would have appreciated a grab rail in the shower! The living area was so cosy with the lovely fireplace and we watched some good films on Netflix. There were so many Cafes and Pubs to chose from in Keswick and so handy to have Booths within walking distance of the apartment. Unfortunately the only problem was the tight parking space which is really only suitable for a small car. Thank goodness we didn't need to use the car as our needs were fulfilled with the apartment being in such a great location. We really hope that we will be able to make a return visit. A great find. Thankyou.

We’ve now stayed in apartments 1 and 2 and can genuinely say that we love this accommodation and will definitely be staying again. The apartments are modern, comfortably furnished, warm and have everything we need and the location is perfect. The boot/drying room is a huge bonus and we used it a lot (given the wet weather!). Angela was great and was on hand for anything we needed, not that we did. Highly recommended!

Keswick town pretty much on the doorstep, with a selection of great Pubs, Restaurants and Shops in easy walking distance as well as the beautiful Derwentwater. Furnishings etc first class and good to see plenty of cutlery so that it was not necessary to be constantly washing up or running the dishwasher. Thought has been given to the drying room , a necessity sometime at Keswick. An easy walk to the town centre or Lake makes this apartment a great choice. We met the manager , Angela, who was very friendly and helpful and would no doubt deal with any issues if they arose. Parking is tight but road parking available if necessary. We will return without doubt.

  • "Beautiful flat, spotlessly clean and very comfortable throughout, exactly as described in the online brochure."

Excellent location for both the town and for lake or walks without needing to use the car. Angela, (on-site manager) is an asset to the accomodation, approachable and easy to contact but in no way intrusive. While we were there the heating pump broke down and before we'd even noticed the owner had contacted us to apologise, explain what was happening to fix it, and to offer electric radiators in meantime. Couldn't have asked for better response, we still had hot water, and heating was fixed within 24 hours with no further problems.

  • "Fabulous cosy flat."

Plenty of space for 2. There is a handy seat and coat hooks in the flat entrance for coats/ boots etc although there is a shared drying room which makes any mud and damp easy to deal with. The king-size bed was really comfortable and we certainly didnt find any lumps in our pillows. The shower was really powerful and the bath resembled a small swimming pool. Its great to have free allocated parking but we hardly used our car all week due to the flats location. Angela the caretaker/ supervisor is very very helpful. She is very thoughtful and happy to help. Lovely clean comfortable holiday accommodation.

Parking an absolute joke, far too litle room for manoeuvring. Cleaner used my parking space. Ended up damaging rear bumper trying to reverse. No hot water for 12 hours after arrival, housekeep had no idea how to get the water flowing and was unable to reset boiler after a power cut.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your experience. For the record, there was no hot water for 3.5hrs primarily due to a local power cut which was beyond our control. An engineer came at 10.30pm to reset the system. Property Owner

  • "100% would stay here again and 100% would recommend staying here to others."

We enjoyed our October stay in Howe Keld 1. It is a lovely home away from home. We loved the location being so close to the lake and the town centre too. The flat is comfortable, well-decorated and well-appointed. We’ve stayed in many self-catering flats/ holiday homes and this was one of the very best. Some of the nice little details and touches we appreciated: We arrived late in the evening and the keyless entry made it very easy to get in without bothering anyone to meet us with a key. Angela, the on-site manager was welcoming and helpful. We could WhatsApp her if we needed anything. We had a parking space in the back- and it is nice that there is an entrance to the building in the back and front of the building. The communal drying room was perfect for our wet gear after long hikes. The laundry room was convenient and the flat has a clothes drying rack. The entryway into the flat has a bench and three hooks for coats plus a nook to store shoes. We appreciated that there was a lovely electric fireplace to enjoy. We had all the user manuals to hand to help us work out the fireplace, oven, etc. The flat included some games such as Scrabble, Monopoly and two decks of cards too. Lots of guidebooks in the flat plus a lending library downstairs. We had some milk, plum bread and jam in the flat on arrival- perfect for the next morning before we had a chance to get to the store or go to the Keswick Saturday market. There was toilet paper for the start of the stay, and hand soaps too. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of dishes and cutlery- including aluminium foil, tea towels, a hot pad for the oven, knives, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, hand soap, bread box, butter holder, etc. and the flat includes an iron and iron board The bathroom has a large tub- perfect for soaking in after a long day of hiking. The shower pressure was excellent. A hairdryer is provided as well. Hangers in the closet were also appreciated. The super kingsize bed was comfortable. We appreciate that linens and towels are provided. All in all- it is a lovely flat and an excellent home away from home for a perfect holiday in the Lakes.

This is a very comfortable apartment. Everything we needed when we arrived was waiting for us: milk in the fridge, teas and coffees, plumbread, all to refresh the weary travellers! All other necessary items like soap for the kitchen, tea towels and toilet rolls, everything we needed was provided, we had no need to shop as soon as we arrived. This is a very modern beautifully appointed apartment. As a disabled person I missed my bathroom stool also the grab-rail in my shower, but I managed ok! Being in the centre of the town was so useful, we enjoyed the shops and the cafes where gluten free food was freely available and appreciated! Angela the house manager was very friendly and helpful and was available for any queries or problems.
