  • "The cottage is in an ideal position to walk into Keswick with somewhere to park."

    The cottage is very nicely presented, very clean and stylish with all the facilities you would expect. Minor issue in that the DVD player was broken and the timer on the microwave did not work. There was a coffee machine that we didn’t use, although a Nespresso pod would be a more convenient addition. Overall, we would return.

The coffee machine is a fairly new addition to supplement the provided cafetiere. We decided to go down this route rather than a pod machine on environmental grounds, so hope you understand our choice. We will of course look into the microwave and DVD player, both of which were fully working when we were there a few weeks ago.   • "We loved Little Hallgarth."

    It’s very tastefully furnished & decorated. A very interesting collection of artworks. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely enclosed garden. It’s situated well for exploring the Lakes & fells. A lovely 10 minute walk through Fritz Park to Keswick centre . Good walks from the doorstep too. Our only criticism has to be the creaky bed. It’s very comfortable, has wonderful mattress. But it did disturb our sleep,.We noticed previous reviews have commented on this too. Although, we would definitely still consider staying again, and would recommend too . Hopeful the bed will be resolved by then. Many thanks for a brilliant week.

  • "Lovely cottage with everything you would need."

    Nice quiet area near the park. We had a lovely stay here the only thing that was a negative was the mattress on the double bed was very uncomfortable.

    I am so sorry you found the bed uncomfortable. Along with a lot of the fixtures in Little Hallgarth, we have updated the mattress since we bought the cottage 18 months ago. Deciding which mattress to buy was not easy and we did a lot of research into the best one for a holiday let. We do put a lot of thought and time into trying to get the details right so people can have a wonderful break, and we are so glad you enjoyed yours x Property Owner

  • "Lovely comfortable, well presented cottage."

    Only problem is the temperature control on the shower which kept coming off. Needs looking at. Very well equipped, everything you could possibly need. Nice landscaped garden with seating area, next to the river. Very quiet area but easy access into the park and town centre. Highly recommend

  • "Fantastic property in beautiful surroundings set in s very quiet area but only 10 minutes walk into a lovely busy town with plenty of places to eat,drink and see."

  • "We have been lucky enough to visit the Lakes several times over our 38 year marriage."

    Little Hallgarth was a very pleasant surprise. There is a good downstairs living space which you don’t often get. The decor and the quality of the furnishings also make you feel quite at home straight away. We were fortunate to have warm, sunny weather and the garden with garden furniture was a real bonus. The location is also brilliant with a short walk to the park, walks and the town. We had a really lovely stay.

  • "This property is beautifully decorated and furnished, very warm and comfortable."

    The house was super clean and well equipped, only thing I would change would be a better hairdryer. It is in a fantastic location right next to Fitz Park and easy access to Town Centre. We cannot wait to stay again..

  • "Great stay at Little Hallgarth, cottage was spotless clean and was well equipped, the only negative was the double bed which had a new mattress on a very old metal bed frame which creaked at every movement."

  • "Nice little cottage in a great location, nice walk through Fitz park to the town center ."

    Well stocked kitchen,, My only complaints are : Really uncomfortable double bed The lack of basic things left - 1 toilet roll, No kitchen Roll, absolute dregs of washing up liquid, it would cost much for these things to be left and would make a good impression for the guests

  • "We had an absolutely beautiful week at Little Hallgarth."

    We didn't find the main bed comfy but note nobody else has said this so must be personal preference but very springy/little support for us. Used the twin ones instead. Great location and so beautifully decorated. Right near Keswick Park Run! and close to Town Centre. Ideal for walks straight from the door. Set up with everything you could need for a lovely stay.   • "Lovely holiday home in a quiet location yet minutes walk from the bustling Keswick town."

    One of the best lets we have stayed in Keswick. Perfect for furry friends as garden is completely enclosed and you can walk straight to the park from the back gate along the river. The bed was comfy and the sitting room cosy with a fully equipped kitchen complete with air fryer. The cottage was decorated for Christmas with festive lighting for a homely feel. Thank you to Emma and David. We have already booked to come back.

  • "Our stay was perfect."

    We stayed over the Christmas period and the cottage was so cozy and Christmassy and perfectly located to Keswick - a short a beautiful walk into the centre. The place had everything we needed including a lovely garden. A perfect place to stay anytime of the year - thanks so much for the gifts also! We will definitely stay again when we visit Keswick next! Thank you!

  • "Little Hogarth is a super 2 bedroomed cottage."

    It was well equipped, clean and all guidelines for TV, air fryer, heating etc were easily accessible. The cottage is in a great position and Keswick is less than a very pleasant 10 minute walk away through Fitz park. Ideally an extra downstairs toilet would be ideal but other than that the cottage has everything you could need. Would definitely stay again.

  • "A lovely well appointed cottage, really homely and all the amenities you need."

    Loved all the artwork and little touches including a welcome basket. The new owners definitely took all the feedback on board from last owners reviews and we couldn't fault it. Lovely walk into town through beautiful Fitz park literally 5 mins along the river cut through at the back of property, so many gorgeous places to visit nearby spoilt for choice! We recommend Buttermere and Ullswater as our favourites but loads to do in Keswick too...try the ghost tour! Great choice of pubs and restaurants in walking distance, we enjoyed Casabella and Derwent walker cocktails and restaurant (tapas) Enjoy!

  • "Brundholme Cottage was a lovely place to stay with size, comfort, cleansiness and privacy."

    A nice quiet area with easy walk to Upper Fritz Park. My partner and our 2 beagles enjoy our stay in comfort in the cottage and visited many places in Keswick too.

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location!"

    8/10. Only 10mins walk to the centre of Keswick. Couple of minor points:- Some instructions for the heating would be nice Towel rail in the bathroom didn't appear to be working The hot water in the wash basin only comes out in trickle.

The property

Little Hallgarth, is a pretty, two-bedroom cottage within easy walking distance of the bustling market town of Keswick.

The cottage has been lovingly and skilfully refurbished by the owners, who continually strive to make their guest’s stay as perfect as possible.

Ideal for a family or two couples.

Leave your outdoor gear in the hallway and step into your delightful open plan lounge and dining area with attractive living flame gas fire in feature surround and pleasant views over the garden.

Find your fully fitted and well-equipped shaker style kitchen in cream and your elegant glass dining table with decorative metal chairs placed nearby.

Step through the glass door here and walk out onto the garden to listen to the soothing sound of the river nearby.

Climb the stairs to find two pretty bedrooms: a twin bedroom and a double bedroom, both with views over the garden.

The family power shower room is decorated in a retro baroque style.

The whole house has been tastefully decorated with colours accented by the soft furnishings.

Keswick offers specialist shops, excellent restaurants, cafes and pubs, market days twice a week, a renowned theatre, well-loved cinema and much more.

Walk from the centre of Keswick, through Hope Park to the shore of beautiful Derwentwater, have a bite to eat at the Theatre by the Lakes Café, then enjoy a scenic cruise.

You will have a choice of many walking trails right from your doorstep, from low-level circular walks to more adventurous hikes up to glorious high peaks.

Walk up to lovely Catbells, Skiddaw or Latrigg, known as Keswick’s own fell.

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
