  • "Absolutely brilliant place to stay in the Lakes."

Only negative was the ceramic hob was not hot enough, so it took 4 times longer for food to cook

Thank you David for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay in the Lakes. Regarding your concern about the ceramic hob, we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. After receiving your feedback, we had the hob thoroughly tested and it was found to be functioning correctly with no faults detected, we understand that ceramic hobs can be slower than halogen or gas in comparison. We hope this will not put you off visiting RiggsideKeswick in the future. Property Owner

So often places don’t have enough chairs/seats etc for the amount of people staying but we had everything we needed. Location was ideal as was the pub at the end of the road!

Beautiful house in a perfect location, lots of space, the only small thing I would say is the bath towels were tiny, some good sized bath sheets would be ideal, can’t wait to return in the summer

Debbie thanks for your kind review and feedback and for rebooking in the summer. The bath towels are standard bath towels size (66cm/26” x 125cm/49”), we have taken the decision not to go larger size bath sheets for laundry and environmental reasons. We cater for up to 8 guests and that volume would be add to much to each weekly booking, we hope you understand. Property Owner

  • "We had such a lovely time in this well equipped, delightful property."

We particularly loved the open plan kitchen/diner/sitting area, and hardly used the lounge! Portinscale is lovely and quiet, and we enjoyed the pub at the end of the road, and also the tea room round the corner.

  • "Beautiful views in an elevated traffic-free location in Portinscale but with easy access either by car or on foot to Keswick."

The house was clean, spacious and comfortable and we felt that the owners cared about our holiday. The grassy area at the front was a great place for the children to run about and let off steam. We were lucky with the weather and found plenty of things to fill each day, including climbing Cat Bells and cycling along the old rail track to Threlkeld. We would not hesitate to return to this house in the future.
