  • "Fantastic pet friendly house with huge rooms."

Kitchen well equipped and great centre of the house. The house was secure for us to leave the back door open for our Tessi ( Westie) Totally recommended and the village of Allendale is brilliant with two pubs and three cafe. The co-op is great for the odd items. The river walk is so good our dog loved it Hexham is 10 miles away and is a large town to shop both food and gifts. The abbey is worth a visit Newcastle upon Tyne is an excellent visit. Loads to see and do. The restaurants in China town are amazing too. Thanks for a wonderful break

The kitchen is huge, welcoming and well equipped. We spent most of our social time chatting round the table. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. The location of the property is great: metres from the centre of Allendale and a very short distance from a lovely walk along the river.

The so called back yard with seating was dark and to be fair a bit untidy .The front windows were cracked and also a bit a bit of attention but i have to say we had a great time at the cottage well worth the a visit in a totally unspoilt part of our country the allendales are a part of northumberland well worth visiting

  • "Lovely property."

Huge rooms and huge beds, and a nice welcome pack. We went in Summer so didn't need the fire but in winter that would be lovely. The village is great including one of the oldest Co-ops in the country, run and owned by the village. There's a lovely river walk direct from the property where we spotted two owls on our first night. A great base to explore inland Northumbria, Hadrian's Wall and Hexham.

Yet again it was so clean and tidy. Everything you need is supplied. We love staying here and it was nice coming earlier in the year and we were so lucky with the weather. The village is great and welcoming. Butchers and Co op have everything you need. Lovely cafes in the village and great Indian within walking distance. Fabulous walks from the doorstep. Brilliant.

Regrettably the local pubs were not serving food a post Covid / staffing problem. Cottage extremely cosy well appointed and the six foot bed ensured a goods night rest. We Would recommend the property and location and will return at some point for another stay.

We stayed with 6 adults and we had a great week. Nice that owner left a card and snacks. They even put a xmas tree up for us and left the outside light on for our arrival. Really handy the 3 toilets. Only downside was that we only had 2 pans in kitchen would have been better if there had been a few more. We would really recommend this lovely property to friends and family. Thankyou for a beautiful stay.

Thanks for the kind feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay. Noted regarding additional pans which we’ll arrange for a few more to be included. Property Owner

Very clean, it had everything we needed and more. The beds were very comfortable,I had the best night's sleep in a long time. The property owner informed us as an issue with the kitchen tap which was very helpful and it wasn't much of an issue. It didn't stop us using it. Infact it was so amazing we are coming back in march with my parents. We have so many more walks we want to do.

This is our 2nd stay here and highly recommend it. The house is immaculate and very well equipped. Very cosy. Lovely welcome hamper waiting for us on arrival which was much appreciated. Jason is a great host and on hand if needed. It is so close to centre of Allendale which has well stocked shops and an excellent butcher's shop. There is a new cafe this year which was busy. The village has so many walks from it which is great and the favourite for us was the river walk as our dog could be loose there. Local cafes and other places to eat which are very good. Hopefully back next year.

Very comfortable. Loved the super king-size bed. Good wi-fi and parking right outside. Friendly neigbours. Just a couple of minor points: The outside patio area could be cleaned up a bit. The remote controls for TV and Freesat don't work very well - possibly new batteries required.

A lovely, well equipped kitchen with knives that actually cut! Cosy sitting room with a selection of games. The beds are very comfortable and the cottage is super-warm. It’s very convenient for the local pubs and shops. It is a drive to other areas, but we noticed a fairly regular bus service into Hexham. Parking was easy in the village, as well as right outside the cottage. I wish all cottages were like this one. The ‘yarden’ is fairly small and also gives access to the neighbouring house, but at least gives an outside area to the cottage. If I were visiting this area again, I’d happily stay again!

The house is very comfortable and well appointed. Despite a mixed bag of weather the house was lovely and cosy. Very dog friendly too.
