A gentle walk will bring to you the northern shore of Lake Windermere or an exhilarating climb up Loughrigg will provide wonderful views across the whole lake. On the A591, Ambleside provides a great base for exploring the wider Lake District with Grasmere, Coniston and Elterwater within easy reach.
