"I lived in Ambleside during my teenage years and lived at number 5, two doors down from this property so I new what I was expecting."
I knew it was going to be cosy, quiet, compact, relaxed with all the 'nuances' you would expect with an old cottage like this. From the moment we walked in, my fiancee and 2 young children absolutely loved it. It is a perfect cosy cottage for a couple or family of 4 if your children are small/young. Our daughter (3) loved sitting in the window watching the birds! Very clean and tidy with all the facilities in place. Just an observation, be mindful of the water pressure can sometimes drop which is normal due to the age and infrastructure of these old cottages and we knew this beforehand. Due to the nature of the cottage, the toilet and shower room is a very compact space but is very clean and well designed and does the job. The kitchen and lounge and lovely spaces. The little table and chairs at the end of the pathway outside were a perfect place for a morning brew, enjoying the surroundings, watching the birds (that came right up to us), and the local cat who we all took a shine to! The allocated parking space is a great feature as well, just be careful when entering the space that you don't go over the yellow bar with your tires! Only a few minutes walk away from the centre of Ambleside, and in the other direction, 10-15 mins to Waterhead for the lake and boats. Also, it's a perfect location for going on car journeys to neighbouring villages whilst taking in the scenery and landscape along the way. Again just an observation, don't be put off by a slight 'aroma', these old cottages can at times have a little damp smell that you don't notice after a bit. Maybe a dehumidifier might help those who are sensitive to this. Again, context is important, this is an old traditional and rustic cottage and it is to be expected that it is not like a typical modern build. Would definitely stay again, we all had a great time!
Thank you for your lovely feedback, it was so lovely to read what a fantastic stay you had at Fell View and we would love to welcome you back again in the future. Lakelovers

"Just had an amazing weekend with my family."
Can't fault the cottage at all, it has everything you need. Nice comfortable beds, lovely hot shower, only a 5 to 10 minutes walk into the town. Would highly recommend the cottage.

"Lovely little cottage on the outskirts of Ambleside."
Great views from out the front of the buildings. Well furnished with comfy beds and fully kitted kitchen. Owners have provided information books and even a local board game.
Note it is a old property which means steep staircase and tricky doorways upstairs. Not suitable for less mobile.

"Lovely little cottage in a great location."
Nice and clean and well decorated. Beds are comfortable with nice linen and good towels. Two comfy sofas to relax in at the end of the day.
You are less than 5 mins walk to the centre with lots of restaurants but up a nice quiet road on a small hill so beautiful views and very peaceful. There is easy parking too. Would definitely recommend.
My only thing if being picky would an extra toilet roll would have been useful.

"Lovely location and area."
Perfect to walk into Ambleside.
However the cottage was dirty, dust everywhere and damp and mould near the lower bunk bed. There was also a funky smell on entering the cottage that didn’t go when we opened windows.

"Thank you very much for such a lovely stay at Fell View."
The little cottage was perfect for myself and my partner. It had everything we needed and the kitchen was well equipped. We loved the little touches like the local products, the little selection of tea/coffee/sweets/ biscuits, as well as lots of walking maps. The cottage was super clean, cosy and homely. It was a very quiet area and a very short walk to the shops. The private parking was so handy and not far away from the cottage. The only thing that could be improved is the bed, as it was squeaky.
We would definitely stay here again!

"We spent 3 nights at Fell View - me, my husband and our 9 year old son."
The location was fantastic, just minutes from shops and some nice pubs in Ambleside. The cottage was cosy, clean and well equipped. The shower pressure was a little annoying and would have worn thin if we’d stayed longer I think but we knew before we arrived from the listing. Overall, a great little cottage!

"Really nice cottage and well appointed."
Eventually worked out how to use the heating as instructions weren’t clear enough but used fire instead so wasn’t a problem. Bathroom is it a bit on the small side but useable. Overall a comfortable property and was in an ideal location for all we wanted to do in the area. Ambleside centre was really close so were able to have a couple of car free days.

"Loved this cosy little cottage ."
Everything we needed was there, just wish the outside where table and two chairs were had been a bit more weed ifree as on the photographs it looked much tidier and weed free, but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our few days there .

The decor was really nice and outdoor seating which was a bonus as we had some good weather. The stairs would be an issue for anyone with a disability.

"Directions good."
Parking convenient. Quiet location, but only a short walk from all Ambleside has to offer. The cottage name is misleading as there is no view, tucked away as it is among other houses. The top of the stairs is dangerous. I slept with the landing light on and a pillow across the bedroom door to remind me to exit the room carefully! A nice little house. Expensive for what it is.

"Beautiful little cottage, ideal for 2 people."
Easy 5 minute walk into town, cafes, bars and restaurants. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen area (although we did eat out each day). Would definitely stay here again. Only downfall, it could do with a mirror in second bedroom, maybe on chest of drawers, for hair drying. The full length mirror in main bedroom is great, but unfortunately there wasn't a plug socket close enough to use the hairdryer. Also, if you are on the large side, the toilet space between the shower cubicle and the wall was slightly tight (fine for me but my partner who has really broad shoulders, struggled and had to sit at an angle). That said, we both enjoyed our stay and this wouldn't stop us from staying

"Lovely little cottage, I’m a big lad and the shower room is really tiny, which for two nights was ok, a week would have been uncomfortable."
We also experienced a severe drop in water pressure ie no water from the shower, which was a problem for my wife when she was in it washing her hair and the water stopped!
Otherwise really enjoyed our stay thanks
