  • "There were a few missing we found, just simple issues."

We thought that there would have been salt and pepper and maybe a small amount of cooking oil to get us started. We have been renting a property ourselves for 20 years and always supplied a small welcome pack for our visitors, just a couple of tea bags, couple of coffee bags and milk. Cottage is ideally situated and very clean. Would definitely recommend the cottage to our friends.

  • "We have stopped at Keldas before and love the cottage."

It has been kept in very good condition with everything you need for an enjoyable stay in a great location. In fact we wanted to extend our stay but faced with a compulsory insurance and ridiculous administration fee from Lake Lovers we decided against it. That is why we have scored Lakelovers 5/10. After staying in the lake district with Heart of the Lakes for over 25 years it has put us off staying with LL again.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed the property and are sorry that you chose not to extend your stay due to the administration charge, this is something that we did discuss with you at the time and tried our bet to work with you. • "The property was a nice terraced house."

It is on a narrow street where parking is difficult. There was a permit but it wasn't clear to me that this was only for certain car parks and not for parking on the street. I got a ticket for parking outside the house with the permit in the window. Maybe I missed the details about the permit. It was a great location with everything in town a few mins walk. The amenities were good and the house was clean. It might be helpful if there was some sort of guest book for comments about restaurants/ things to do etc. We had the blandest meal we have ever had and if others had commented we might have been spared the waste of money. The 10am checkout is reasonable and fair. Overall very happy and would recommend it.

Mr Mcclay, thank you so much for your positive feedback and we glad you liked Keldas. We hope to see you again and we will look to put a guest book/ information pack together. Jenny & David Property Owner

  • "Lovely, well equipped cottage in the centre of Ambleside."

Location was great for being able to leave the car in one of the various car parks we could use with the permit provided & walk from the property. Though it maybe in the centre of town, the place is tucked away in a very quiet street! We’ll look to stay here again when we next visit the lakes.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review Keldas and we are so pleased that you liked it. We very much look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Thank you Jenny and David Property Owner

  • "The property was perfect for us."

Central location. Easy access to shops and walks. The beds were comfortable and there was a lot of space for a 2 bed house. The fridge could do with some maintenance in the sense that the door shelves no longer exist and could do with being replaced. Maybe the TV could go on a stand too. It couldn’t be seen from one of the sofas. Wouldn’t normally be an issue but had some very wet days and kids wanted to watch a film so had to place the dining chairs near the TV in order to be able to watch it. Would definitely come back though.

Mrs Mansfield thank you so much for choosing Keldas and for your feedback. The fridge will be replaced, so hopefully that addresses that issue. With the many rainey days we have had this summer we will look into the tv stand. Thanks for your feedback and we would love for you to return. Best Regards Jenny and David Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage in a great location."

It was nice to be able to park the car and not need it for the weekend. 1 min walk from restaurants, cafes and shops. Beautiful walks nearby whuch were suitable for the family-waterfall and stepping stones. The cottage had everything you need for a home from home break and even though in the centre it was very quiet day and night.

Mrs Passfield. Thank you so much for taking the time to review Keldas. We are brand new to owning a holiday rental property, so your feedback is appreciated and valued. I would be keen to know where we can improve on with the cleanliness, so we can try and get that 100% score for everything ready for your next visit. Whilst writing are there any other improvements we could make, that would make yours and other guests stay special? How ever big or small, please feel free as we have holidayed in the lakes for 40 years and want to make sure everyone loves coming to the area and has the best time! Thanks again and hopefully we have the opportunity to welcome you back soon. Regards David and Jenny Property Owner

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants, and pubs in the village to suit all tastes, including the popular eateries of Misto, Sheila's Cottage, and The Lily Bar. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
