  • "We have stayed in this cottage a few times but when we arrived this time the cottage had not been cleaned."

This was no fault of the cleaner as she had not been notified by LakeLovers that this was a mid week change over. Once highlighted and the cleaner notified the cottage was cleaned immediately. Arthur

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that The Lodge was not clean upon your arrival, we appreciate that this must have been frustrating and will do everything we can to ensure that this doesn't happen again. We hope you had a lovely stay and we hope to welcome you again. The owner relations team - Lakelovers Property Owner

This is our third time staying at Lodge cottage, we are very happy with it, near to the town and very quiet, On our previous visit we had problems with the T V going off and on and no signal, when we were here last week, the owner Aruther called with us to put the bin out, and we said to him about this problem and he kindly went away and came back with a new T V and got a man to fit a new aerial and tune it in, and it is working prefect, our thanks to him for solving the problem

  • "An ideal place for locality for town and buses ."

Nice position close to walks and park. Good safe parking Heating works well Tv is a little hard to watch as it keeps disappearing . The main change if I was asked would be for a walk in shower would really improve the facilities. Thanks regards Colin

  • "‘The Lodge’ is ideally situated close to the town, which was perfect for us as well as quiet even though the main road is close by."

The parking is a great asset. Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine if needed too. An airer would have been helpful as although there is an outside line, the weather wasn’t the best to try and dry items. There is a towel rail but runs off central heating so we didn’t use it. It is a great place to stay in and well equipped for self catering. A few maintenance/cleaning issues that would be of benefit and not meant as criticism in any way. Cobwebs, dust/dirt around the radiators/towel rail (floor level) and doors need wiping down neat handles . Cooker hood needs a clean (too high for me to clean it all over). Lights in kitchen kept flickering. Plug sockets by bed do not work but not sealed off or any notification. TV reception not brilliant especially on really wet days. Towels left for us had stains on but we took our own so not a big issue. Truly loved the bird feeder! Wonderful to watch the busy birds going backwards and forwards to the nuts. They demolished a filled coconut shell within a day! The garden is delightful and peaceful. Seating areas were wonderfully placed and relaxing when weather allowed. A good break to recharge your batteries!

  • "The cottage is in an ideal place and comes with a parking space which is a bonus."

Walks from the door and bus stop just down from the end of the street. Internally the bed is comfortable although we found the drawers smelled buying some drawliners helped with this. The water is very hot and please be aware the fire in the living room is gas. In the listing it states electric in one area and gas in another. We didn't find the sofa or chair very comfortable but that may be a personal thing. Watching the birds feeding was lovely although it didn't take them long to empty the feeder.

  • "We had a perfect stay."

Great bike storage and bike trails accessible from end of the road. Well equipped and comfy. Couple of suggestions. Not complaints at all. Could do with a toilet brush and upgraded tv so you can cast tv channels from mobile devices.

  • "This was the 2nd time we have come to this property and we love it, it’s clean and comfortable and it’s position in relation the town is ideal and having parking is a real bonus."

We enjoyed watching the birds at the feeder, the garden with the 2 seating areas is lovely . Our only suggestion would be a bit more cutlery and a cafetière , otherwise perfect.

  • "As usual the property was exactly as it said on the tin."

..We really enjoyed our week - even welcomed by the wood pigeons from home to wake us in the morning !. Only a couple of minor niggles - a few more kitchen utensils would have been useful... small knives for cutting vegetables, a colander for washing fruit and perhaps some handwash ( as is usual in most Sykes cottages.) We could have used a coffee percolator - but perhaps that is pushing it a bit....Nevertheless, excellent all round.

  • "The lodge was clean and comfortable, good heating and hot water."

Very good location, only a few minutes walk into Ambleside. Only negative we found was that the oven was very noisy ( a previous guest also commented on this issue). Enjoyed watching the birds on the feeder.

Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted to read that you enjoyed your holiday at The Lodge. We are sorry that you found the oven to be noisy; our maintenance team and the owner have since tested it and is now working normally. Lakelovers Owners Team Property Owner

  • "Ideal location for accessing the lakes, however there are a few things we found to be lacking."

The bed is rather on the small side for two adults also there is only a two seater settee and one rather uncomfortable chair in the lounge. The kitchen was ok apart from the strange noises from the oven and the lack of knives for vegetables etc. overall it’ was clean and warm but we would have to think long and hard about a return visit.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you found some things to be lacking. The bed is a standard double however and the oven has been tested by both our maintenance team and the owner and is running smoothly. Lakelovers Owners Team Property Owner

Very central to the town and great for walks. We just have two issues with the cottage, the first week that we were there the three days that we had the heavy rain we had no T V. Signal ,spoke to the neighbours but they had no problem getting a signal, l think the problem is with the aerial which would need checked out. Also the cooker oven when it heats up the fan makes a very loud noise, which does not sound right and would need to be checked out also. A part from these two issue we were very happy with our stay. Very quiet and comfortable.

The house was very clean and comfortable, just what we were looking for. The added bonus was the parking so near the centre of the village and the lovely courtyard garden complete with bird feeders . We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay."

'The Lodge' is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac very close to Ambleside. Turn left out of the gate and within 2 minutes you are in the centre. Turn right out of the gate and in 100 yards you are on a lovely quiet footpath running next to a stream and wonderful countryside views. At the end is a park which takes you into the town. The accommodation is really very good and the off-road car parking is so important in Ambleside. Everywhere was very clean and the layout was very practical with all mod. cons to hand. The small garden is a real suntrap and a lovely place to sit with the many birds that visit. It is the first time we have stayed here and hopefully not the last as we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you.
