Recently had another fantastic stay at The Watch Tree Apartment!

This was our third stay here. It’s a beautiful apartment, stylish, immaculately clean and well appointed. The owners, Steve and Jayne, are very thoughtful and attentive, making our stay here very enjoyable. It is very peaceful and relaxing, and lovely to wake up each morning to the sound of the river and the steam train passing by. Great South lakes location, ideal for exploring the local area or the wider Lake District. There are lots of beautiful walks nearby, activities for families and great places to eat. We often take our paddle boards and head over to nearby Coniston. We really love staying here and highly recommend it.

We absolutely loved our stay at Watch Tree!

It is such a beautiful place, both inside and out. The bed and pillows were hands down the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on, and everything was spotlessly clean. The owners was also fantastic, they messaged us a few days before to make sure we had all the info we needed and checked in on us during our stay, which was a really nice touch. The place is beautifully decorated and perfectly located close to all the areas we wanted to visit. We highly recommend it!

The Watchtower is a beautifully presented apartment on the second floor.

It is superbly equipped and furnished to a very high standard. The contact from Steve and Jayne was spot on prior to and after our visit. It is well located across the river away from the main road, and there are walks from the doorstep. The bedroom is on the small side, but the bed was so comfortable and there is plenty of storage space. We had a lovely stay there. Thank you.

My second visit to Watch Tree Apartment.

The facilities at the apartment are excellent, the decor is extremely tasteful and the cleanliness of the apartment is second to none. Steve and Jayne are extremely helpful yet unobtrusive. The location by the River Leven is lovely with the old ironworks buildings across the road still preserved. Backbarrow is also a great base for exploring the southern part of the Lake District. Will be returning!

We have had an amazing stay with brilliant instructions for your arrival and for the flat itself. The hosts were so accommodating to our needs and truly went above and beyond. The apartment has everything you could want and more for an amazing break in the lakes. Thank you both so much for everything...we will be back very soon.

Very good apartment with everything I needed for a comfortable week in the Lake District.

Really nothing to fault as the property is well prepared for visitors and in lovely condition. If being picky I would say the towels are tired and could be renewed and upgraded and the parking bay was not ideally placed for the apartment especially given that the car park was nearly empty all week. I did not see another person all week which was a bit weird given there must be 50 of so apartments so perhaps they are all second homes or holiday lets, which is very sad for the area.

An amazing place to stay.

So comfortable and relaxing and works well for 4 adults staying! The owners have considered everything so you can enjoy the locality eating in or out. Beds very comfortable and the window seat is a joy to sit at when watching the river. Christmas decorations were very tasteful. Perfectly located to visit lots of places. Walks from the door. Well worth staying.

I was very happy when I arrived at the Watch Tree after the long drive!

It was pristine and had those lovely touches and attention to detail, so you felt Steve and Jayne really love the place and want you to relax, which i did! The window/riverseat is a wonderful way to have some time out. There's loads to do locally, from walking, swimming, dining out and exploring local sites such as Conishead Priory, and the apartment is weĺl equipped for relaxing and eating in, too. The apartment was bigger than i expected, and the stairs were good for me! I highly recommend the Watch Tree, it was a 5 star stay!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay .

Apartment was immaculate , parking was so easy , instruction and information documents were excellent. Only frustration was that there didn’t appear to be any recycling facilities for the apartments

The hots provided comprehensive information for access to the property along with very useful instructions on how to use all the appliances etc which we found to be excellent.

The duplex apartment was immaculately clean and very well appointed, it was spacious and comfortable, the bed was very comfy and plenty of wardrobe space and drawers in the dressing area. A very nice spacious bathroom and was lovely to have a bath. Enjoyed sitting in the window seat overlooking the treetops. We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to another visit.

The hosts provided very detailed information about the accommodation, which made things very easy. The location is brilliant for exploring the Lake District. The apartment is beautifully decorated and the setting was breathtaking. It is the nicest accommodation we have stayed in! Everything was perfect - thank you.

Lovely apartment in a great location.

Really well equipped with everything you could need and finished to such a high standard. The view from the window seat over looking the river was a great place to relax with a cuppa or a glass of wine. The owners provided loads of information in advance about the apartment and local aewa which was much appreciated. Overall we wouldn't hesitate to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Lovely apartment, very well equipped and decorated.

Really comprehensive and helpful guides for both the apartment and getting the most out of the area. The area is very quiet and secluded, perfect for my stay. Only feedback would be the off-peak heating settings felt quite cold and so I used the manual settings to increase the temp in the bedroom during the night.

The apartment was lovely!

Super clean, well designed, modern, fully equipped kitchen. Very easy to find and easy to gain access. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here Steve and Jayne were lovely and very helpful.

A very clean and comfortable appartment.

Everything needed was there. Excellent communication with owners. The only negative for me would be lack of outside space to sit out in if booked in the summertime. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would return.

The apartment was very comfortable, clean and well equipped.

It is in a modern block in a quiet are next to a river. It is close to many places of interest in and around Lake Windermere which we enjoyed visiting. Our hosts were super helpful before our visit and their directions and information they supplied us with was really useful. We would not hesitate to recommend the apartment to our friends and family. Thank you for a lovely break.

Brilliant property - so clean and modern and very well equipped.

Loved the window seat overlooking the river. The location is lovely. Short drive from the hustle and bustle of Bowness so get best of both worlds. You can tell the hosts really want people to have a good holiday due to their communication & organisation. We were a family of four visiting and all of us had a great holiday. Would def book again.

Great apartment with very high specifications and great comfort through out.

Each and every aspect has been taken great effort from the owners. When I mentioned my arrival time to Steve, he ensured apartment is ready ahead of the check in time and messaged me. This allowed us to explore the area on the first day itself. Great highlight is the window sit out where you can watch the river flowing all day. Fantastic addition to the apartment. Great location for exploring the Lake District and highly recommended.

I have never stayed in a property as immaculately clean as this.

Beautifully decorated, comfortable and in a lovely location. Communication from Steve and Jayne was great and the information pack was incredibly detailed. The bedroom is very small but the bed is nice and cosy. Backbarrow is yet to be discovered by the tourist hordes but is a delightful little place. Cannot recommend this property enough.

Me and my partner had a lovely stay at Watch Tree Apartment.

The apartment is very new, modern and well kitted out with everything required. We didn't hear a peep from any other apartments, instead you have the noise of the rushing river that you can see from the kitchen window. It's in a lovely, quiet little village and very idealic for walks. I have back issues due to a slipped disc in my spine so I am always nervous when sleeping in a different bed, but this one was amazing!! The owners have clearly spent a lot of money making this apartment top notch. We slept so well. The pillows were so good that I had to look at the labels before we left so I could buy some for home!! And that I did! Also the sofas in the lounge are firm (great for my back) and very comfy. We had terrible luck with our car when we arrived, in the end we had to have it towed home. But when we informed Steve, the owner, of our problem he was very keen to help out in any way. He kindly let us leave the car in the parking spot for an extra day and helped the tow man locate our car after we had already left the area. Prior to our stay, Steve sent us lots of info about the apartment and was very keen to connect with us to check we arrived OK and had everything we needed. Fantastic hosts!! The location is brilliant for access to the lakes and also the coast, we covered so much ground when driving around the Lake District, in only a few days. The scenery when driving is beautiful, without even seeing the famous lakes!
