We had a really lovely time here , everything was perfect until we had no hot water , ruined our last night of our holiday , we couldn’t go out for our dinner reservation , not what you expect of a gold award property , we have been home 6 days and still haven’t heard an explanation as to why it happened , not good at all
We are so sorry to hear of the problems you encounted at the Hygge, and this is not the level of service we wish to offer to our guests.
We have spoken to Lakelovers and are led to believe they were not made aware of the issue until the following day, and therefore they could not respond.
In 6 years of owning the property, we have never experienced this problem , so immediately asked a plumber to review the system. They have been unable to identify any issues, and guests following your visit have not reported any problems either, so unfortunately, we are unable to identify why this problem occurred.

"The apartment exceeded our expectations and was decorated for Christmas which was a nice touch."
Very spacious in a great complex. Each apartment is discreet and check in and check out was communicated very well.
The facilities within were very good - this really did feel home for home!

O 8 this is my second stay at this apartment and what a lovely quality furniture and fitting everything was clean and tidy when I arrived and the Christmas tree and decorations where a lovely touch thank you for a wonderful holiday it’s so peaceful and quiet and on a nice day there are beautiful walks in the countryside that surrounds the property.will definitely be booking to come back again kind regards Gary.

"Hyggge at No."
8 is such a lovely place. This is the first time we've stayed in an apartment and loved every minute. The location is ideal for walkers and holiday makers with windermere being a short walk from the doorstep. The apartment itself is beautiful giving you the feeling of luxury. We fully enjoyed our stay and will definitely be booking here again :)

"Lovely property, so quiet watched the deers in the field, easy parking, cosy and comfortable ."
Only point to note was that there were no pillow protectors and perhaps at end of season shower needs re grouting...small points on a fab stay x

"Our second stay and if a luxury apartment for two is what you're looking for then hygge no 8 would be difficult to beat."
Just one note for the owner, the dishwasher door drops down to far which causes the bottom draw to slid out to easily and potentially fall off. There is normally an adjustment that can be made to rectify this.

We have tried to re-adjust the dishwasher, and this is currently work in progress as we failed miserable on our first attempt - will keep you posted, but thank you so much for letting us know. Ironically, we thought that was the right position so have nevered noticed it, but now, I cannot un-notice it!
Hopefully it will be adjusted when you visit next time.

"Entry instructions sadly lacking."
No information about using keyfob to get in and we had to wait outside for a long time till some other resident came and showed us.
Really missed recycling bin. Took ours home. Please let's make it easier to help save the planet!
Instructions for oven not clear enough. It's not as intuitive as suggested and we had a few mishaps
Thank you for your feedback - we really value your experience. We have now revised the arrival instructions to explain the position of the door entry system so hopefully this will now be much clearer for our guests.
We echo your comments around sustainability and take our responsiblity around recycling seriously. Given the property is part of a complex of 12 apartments, it was agreed that the best approach was to contract with a commercial supplier who sorts and recycles at their depot - we adopted this approach as many guests were not recycling, which presented problems for the Local Authority. We will explain this in our welcome pack to ensure all guests are aware of this.
We will also revise the oven instructions as it always appear obvious when you know what you are doing!

"A lovely 6 nights spent at this gorgeous apartment."
Set in a quiet and peaceful location yet less than a 10 min drive from Windermere town and Bowness, with Ambleside not far either. The decor is spot on giving a modern and cosy feel and the layout is great, plenty of space and furniture very comfy. Stunning sunset views was an extra added bonus! Would 100% recommend and love to be back!

8, the apartment was absolutely spotless, the decor was modern clean and looked great!.
A mile walk from Windermere which was perfect for me and my Partner as we like to leave the car at home and explore for the day! All in all a great stay and would highly recommend we will be back for sure.

Just a suggestion - a few more teaspoons would be useful. Otherwise nothing negative, except maybe the kettle beeps too much - a first world problem :-)

Enjoyed a very relaxing week in a beautiful apartment situated in a quiet tranquil setting. Ideally located with walks from the doorstep. Only negative point is the sofa bed in the lounge area is uncomfortable.

"Would have preferred a king size bed instead of the small double."
The setee was uncomfortable as it served as a bed setee as well.

We are sorry that you felt the sofa was uncomfortable, and surprised since this is the first complaint we have had. The sofa is a Natuzzi branded settee and therefore gives a more relaxed feel, which doesnt always suit everybody's preference. The bed was a standard double bed, however we have taken your comments on board and have changed the size of the bed to a King Size. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

"As noted. On arrival following a two hour journey, no toilet paper was available at Hygge."
We phoned Lakelovers (as we were annoyed, this being a Gold Award apartment) and were asked if we could go to Windermere and purchase some ourselves, which we could. I asked if Lakelovers could deliver it within 30mins and was informed that this would be unlikely. I then asked if one roll/some could be delivered when a person (cleaner) next visited, this being a Friday. None arrived. We purchased our own from Booths that evening.
The bath was clean at the bottom but not the sides, which had a definite grimy feel all round
The apartment was generally clean and tidy but the Information sheet left by the Company that cleaned was blank ie no times or names.
We subsequently did enjoy our stay at Hygge and Applethwaite Hall.
Dear Guest - Could I please apologise for your experience at our property as this is not the service we expect our guests to receive. I have spoken to Lakelovers regarding this incident and they also apologise. Whilst this is not an excuse, they informed me that unfortunately due to COVID they are experiencing severe shortages in cleaners and our normal cleaner was not available. If you wish to book the Hygge at No.8 again we would like to offer you a 10% discount.

"Beautiful clean apartment."
Quiet and peaceful location with scenic view’s and very private! Walk’s on the doorstep, and very handy for Booths quality supermarket. A couple of snag’s the sofa is not comfortable, especially for anyone with back problem’s. Mattress is too soft and causes you to roll off on the edge’s

The sofa is a Natuzzi relaxed sofa as many guests enjoy this modern style, however we recognise this does not suit everyone so provide the more formal leather chairs with much better support. We have now changed the bed to a king size with an alternative mattress.
