We walked along the coast to St Bees which was nice. The hosts were really nice and even brought us freshly baked scones and tried to help as much as possible when the electric started to go off due to storm Debi.

The hot tub was a real luxury , particularly after a day of walking and exploring the Area around the Lake District. The cottage had it’s own car parking space , patio and patio furniture which in the afternoon was a real sun trap. It was a self catering cottage and because I do not like to shop too much whilst on holiday, I packed sufficient supplies for the week including dishwasher and washing machine tablets, dish cloth etc etc . As they say “ everything but the kitchen sink. There is a very friendly pub in Beckermet called the Royal Oak which serves delicious food . If you need to shop, Egremont is close by . We also went to Gosforth where there’s a very well equipped supermarket, a local bakery and a cafe called Yam Frae Yam which I highly recommend but as it is small , booking is recommended.
