“We felt very welcome and at home.”

The cottage was a great space for a family holiday and a good location to explore the Lakes from. There were lots of little touches here and there which added to the whole experience! We would definitely return.

Coneygarth Farm

Tucked away between the dramatic West Coast and the picturesque Lake District National Park, within the small village of Beckermet is Coney Garth Cottage and Coney Garth Retreat. They are each well-appointed for indulging in a spot of relaxation on return from exploring the local sights, with a private hot tub to soak away your troubles on a balmy summer's evening. The interiors are modern in design with all the necessities for home-cooking, dining and unwinding in the living areas, surrounded by the company of your loved ones, the ideal getaway for groups celebrating an occasion or just an opportunity to get together with friends. During the warmer months, spend a moment or two within the garden where can enjoy a spot of lunch on your own private patio area or stretch your legs on the shared, green lawn before heading out for the day. If you can tear yourself away from this delightful accommodation, venture into the centre of the village where you will find two traditional pubs, each offering a delicious dining menu and local beers. For those feeling adventurous, head to the Lake District National Park where you can trek up England’s highest peak or discover the magnitude of picturesque lakes. Alternatively, head to the west coast where you can soak up the sun at the glorious beaches or stroll along the coastal paths to enjoy breath-taking scenery. These cottages promise a memorable experience in a part of beautiful Cumbria.

About the location

BECKERMET

Egremont 3 miles; St Bees 5 miles; Whitehaven 8.5 miles; Seascale 7 miles; Eskdale 11 miles.

The small village of Beckermet is located just one mile from the beautiful West Coast and sits amongst dramatic Lakeland countryside. Consisting of a scattering of cottages, farm dwellings, modern homes and two traditional English pubs serving local beers and good food; The White Mare has even won awards for 'Best Pint' and 'Best Pub in Cumbria'. The fells and lakes of the Western Lake District are close at hand. Relatively unknown to many Lakeland visitors, this area offers easy access to the towering peaks of Scafell Pike - England's highest peak, as well as Scarfell, Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell and Muncaster Fell: the lakes of Ennerdale, Loweswater, Crummock Water, Buttermere and Wastwater, England's deepest lake is perhaps the most awe-inspiring of all the lakes. The nearby stunning valleys of Eskdale, Wasdale and Dunnerdale provide breathtaking and ever-changing scenery to be enjoyed throughout the year. The nearby popular seaside resort of St Bees, with its historic Priory, has a long sandy beach, plus the rocky promontory of St Bees Head, the westernmost point of Cumbria and the start of Wainwright’s famous 'Coast to Coast walk'. An RSPB nature reserve on the headland is home to England's only colony of Black Guillemots. Other local attractions include Muncaster Castle, the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature railway, one of the most beautiful train journeys imaginable, the famous Hardknot Pass with its Roman Fort, and the Georgian town of Whitehaven with its picturesque harbour. This stunning location will have visitors returning time and time again.
